PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS - Valor

With over 210,000 applications to participate in the Private Beta, FaceIt proved immediately that there was a high interest in a tournament-driven, competitive environment within PUBG. Starting tomorrow, everyone will have access to the FaceIt system when FaceIt: PUBG officially opens to the public!

FaceIt uses the PUBG custom games API to offer competitive games to players through their platform. Players can participate in these games and see their ranking and stats within the FaceIt environment. All official games have region lock enabled and use competitive settings.

Whether you’re an aspiring pro player looking to be noticed, wanting to join one of the many different community hubs with chat, leaderboards, and statistics, or simply want to give PUBG tournaments a try, FaceIt offers a variety of new ways for you to enjoy the game.

All players can gain access to many of FaceIt’s features for free, including access to free tournaments, matchroom stats, free leaderboards, and communities. Subscribers to PUBG Premium or FaceIt Premium on the platform gain the added benefits of map selection, premium profile stats, access to subscriber only competitions, and the ability to win prizes through ranked competitions. PUBG Premium members on FaceIt also receive an exclusive PUBG Subscriber badge!

To celebrate the official launch, FaceIt is giving away a FaceIt-branded FIAT 500 to the first FaceIt player to earn 338 chicken dinners. Why 338? Well, that’s just about how many chicken dinners you could fit inside of a FIAT 500, so it seemed logical (chickens not included)! This contest is open to both Free users and Subscribers, but be sure to check out the official rules for any restrictions.

Want to try FaceIt out for yourself? The service opens tomorrow, so head on over and sign up!

It’s been over a year since Playerunknown s Battlegrounds launched into early access, and yet somehow it’s still drawing the crowds, much to John’s chagrin. It now has three maps, with a fourth one on the way, and an expanded weapon set too. Its popularity may be waning a little in light of stiff competition, but it isn’t a surprise that it’s still massively popular: Dumping 100 people onto a map and telling them to scavenge and murder, all in the name of an ethereal chicken dinner. Grabbing that meal ticket won’t be easy, so we ve thrown together a whole bunch of tips and tricks to help you get a taste of that sweet, sweet victory. (more…)

Playerunknown s Battlegrounds has 25 guns currently available, each with its own set of scopes and attachments to glue on, which means it s fair to say that keeping track of them all can be a little difficult.

This Battlegrounds weapons guide will make that easier. The random nature of the shrinking circle means you only have limited control over what situations you ll get into – in other words, you always want to make sure you have a short-range and a long-range weapon. We ll run you through the pros and cons of each gun, then finish with some advice on attachments.

With a few notable exceptions, deserts can be a rather unforgiving habitat for most living creatures. In Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds‘ Miramar, this is made worse by one thing: up to 100 people are dumped out of an airplane to fight to the death. Perhaps you are one of the unlucky ones that must try to survive in this wasteland? Our PUBG Miramar guide will show you some of the best places to drop in order to obtain the best loot, and more importantly how to not die before you can really get going. (more…)

Sanhok is the newest and tiniest map in Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. It’s therefore a very different experience compared to the other maps that are sprawling wastelands where death is a constant peril. In many ways, Sanhok is far deadlier as deep within the lush jungles, ancient ruins, and the extensive river system, there’s plenty of places for enemies to hide and kill you without a second thought! It can be tough to get a footing, but not to worry; help is at hand! In this Sanhok map guide, I will take you through what to look out for and how to survive the onslaught that’s happening all around you. (more…)

Last week, the first of three shiny new Nvidia Turing cards finally pitched up on shop shelves – the RTX 2080. You can head over to my Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 review to find out more on what I thought of the card as a general pixel pusher, but the long and short of it is that you’re probably not looking at much of a raw performance increase over the current Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti.

That’s probably not the most ringing endorsement you’ve ever seen – especially when the RTX 2080 is currently more expensive than the GTX 1080Ti – but the main attraction of Nvidia’s new RTX 2080 graphics card is something I haven’t actually been able to test yet. Namely, its nifty real-time ray-tracing reflection tech and its clever AI-driven bits and bobs like DLSS (deep learning super sampling), which you can also read more about by clicking that there Nvidia Turing link above. This may well turn the tables in the RTX 2080’s favour once said ray-tracing and DLSS games actually come out or are updated to support said nifty and clever features, but right now all we have is a list of confirmed games that will, at some point, receive ray-tracing and DLSS updates in the future – which thankfully has just got a bit longer and, more importantly, more specific about exactly which features they’ll be taking advantage of.

It’s Plunk a go-go today with many titbits of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds news. To summarise:

1) A new event gives the opportunity to earn a fantastic giant hat, the sort of enticing hat that tourists on a stag or hen weekend would instantly buy.

2) The flare gun seen in the Metal Rain event, which can call in a special huge airdrop or an armoured vehicle, is headed to regular modes too.

3) A ranking system is coming.

4) Proper individual map selection is coming back.

5) God, that hat is beautiful ladbait.
