This week's been a busy one for chicken dinners - first we had the release of the KFC dating game, and now we have another PUBG update, which is introducing some tasty stat additions. We all love stats... right?
PC Update 4.3 has now moved from test to live servers, and brings with it the Survival Mastery system, which rewards players for their "survival skills in each match". This is essentially a new progression system where players can level up via looting, using items during combat and reviving teammates (along with, you know, actual combat). It won't reset with each new season, and runs all the way up to level 500 - where players can earn themselves an extra fancy pose. Talk about a flash in the pan.
Anyway, along with poses you can earn various items with which to decorate your PUBG ID (a new customisation option added in the update) such as emblems and nameplates. You'll be able to view other players' PUBG IDs when playing with a "teammate from the previous match", or if the ID belongs to the player you killed or the player who killed you. In my case, it'll mainly be the latter.

The unendingly changeable roster of PUBG guns and weapons takes a staggering amount of time to truly master. Each individual gun brings to the table a unique set of stats, spray patterns, behaviours, and other quirks. Now well into its fourth season, PUBG prides itself on its realistic gunplay, and its selection is larger than it’s ever been thanks to the 4.3 update and the arrival of the DBS Shotgun!
Our PUBG guns & weapons guide seeks to level out this learning curve just a little, by providing you with all the most up to date stats and opinions on each weapon. So whether you’re new to the game and still struggling to tell an UMP from a Bizon, or you’re a more experienced player who just wants to check up a few updated stats, we’ve got what you need.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds 4.3 update is coming to the PC test server soon, bringing with it another progression system. While the Weapon Mastery system let players level up their guns by scoring kills and doing damage, Survival Mastery focuses on all the other stuff.
Looting, using items, getting into scuffles and reviving your mates will earn you XP, netting you rewards whenever you level up, mostly for the new PUBG ID. The ID lets players "express themselves", which means showing off stats and gussying the ID up with backgrounds, emblems and poses. For levels where you don't get a PUBG ID reward, you'll get BP instead.
I usually forget about all that stuff after I tweak it once, so I'm more interested in the match summary timeline and playstyle data. The timeline recaps all the survival activities players performed in a match, and it's possible to view previous matches, so you can track your habits. An analysis of your recent matches can also be viewed from the Survival tab, revealing your most prominent traits.
The update will also introduce a new shotgun, the DBS, which will only be available via care packages at first. PUBG Corp has also made tweaks to shotguns generally, as well as the S686, S1987 and the sawed-off shotgun.
