Today, we are sharing important information regarding the future of Witch It item trading.

In 2024, we are releasing Witch It to consoles as part of a long-term plan to support our game for years to come! You may have noticed a lot of changes recently in preparation of this, as we move away from Steam's systems to our own.

As a result, we are making some major changes to Witch It's item trading.


First and foremost, your items are safe! We are working on a multi-platform trading system that will allow Witch It players to transfer items safely and securely in-game, no matter what platform you are playing Witch It on.

Why can't you have both Steam trading and in-game trading?
To proceed with in-game trading, we must transfer some functionality away from Steam onto our own systems, which will mean Steam trading will not be possible.

Will I still be able to trade Witch It items with items from other games?
No, the in-game system will only include Witch It items.

Will my items be visible in my Steam Inventory?
Yes, your items will still be visible in your Steam Inventory.
We also plan to make all items visible once again, including those which were previously hidden!

What about WitchTrade?
Our team will be reaching out soon to ensure WitchTrade has our support when in-game trading is released!

Will I be compensated?
We're currently exploring into ways to compensate players who support us through our trading pause - stay tuned!

We are confident that once these changes are made, Witch It's trading will be in a far better state than before:
- All items will soon be visible in your Steam Inventory.
- Item farming will be disincentivized.
- Many new traders will be welcomed with the first console release.
- No trade holds.
- Limitless control over new trading functionality - we can expand our in-game trading system based on your feedback!
- New exclusive items will be introduced in 2024, including a hat for Grand Architects, and a hat for Speed Build Contest winners!

Winterdream is back for 2023! Celebrate the festivities with our limited-time event, new skins, recipes, a player icon, new props and more! And as always - the Winterdream shop is open for business! ❄️



Decorate your merry characters with 8 new seasonal items, including the Holiday Hat and Mrs. Santa's Bun items for the Witch, and the Antlers and Mr. Candy items for the Hunters! Stay away from the pointy ends... 🦌



Open Witch It during the Winterdream 2023 event to earn 40 "Filled Boots". Combining 1 Filled Boot with 1 Cinnamon Star will craft 1 random Winterdream item (rare, very rare or whimsical).

To earn Cinnamon Stars, you must fill up the item cauldron with 250 experience points while playing one of our Winter maps: Snowbreeze or Fiskersted, Northern Whispers or Wardwell Wintry. The item cauldron fills up at the end of each round, during the level up screen. For every item cauldron opened on Snowbreeze, Fiskersted, Northern Whispers or Wardwell Wintry, there is a 60% chance that you'll receive 1 Cinnamon Star.

Crafting Winterdream items using Filled Boots and Cinnamon Stars grants a ~20% chance of dropping a new Winterdream 2023 skin item. You will receive the new items more often than old ones!

Alternatively, you can earn these items through random drops during gameplay, or by crafting Winterdream item recipes in the Witches' Cauldron. You can also obtain these items through trading - we recommend using our trading channels in our Discord server! 🎁

Collect the limited-time "Winterdream 2023" icon by playing Witch It during the event season. At the end of Winterdream 2023, the icon will never return - so be quick! ☃️



While they were loading up Santa's sleigh, the elves got caught by a blizzard and huge stacks of their recipes blew away in the wind! Lucky for you, they've now been recovered and can now be earned through in-game drops...

Recipes include the iconic piggy items, the community staff hats/masks (such as Snowtuft's Sheep Head), and lots of Winterdream items from previous years! 🎄

Collect these four very rare Hunter items through Halloween crafting (explained below)!


Opening Witch It during the Halloween 2023 event will grant you 40 "Gloomkins"!
A Gloomkin contains a random Halloween item (including Halloween items from previous years), which can only be opened by combining them with "Haunted Candy". 🍬

To earn Haunted Candies, fill up the Item Cauldron with 250 experience points. You can see the item cauldron fill up at the end of the round, on the level up screen.

Haunted Candy has a 60% chance of being earned on any Official server once the item cauldron is filled, but must be earned on specific Halloween maps: Sleeping Rose Cemetery, Cursed Ruins, Grunewald Library or Grave Gulch. If you're lucky enough to earn one, head back to the main menu and press 'Halloween Event' to combine it with a Gloomkin!

Every Halloween 2023 item earned through Gloomkins are tradable and craftable even after the event is over. If you use up all your Gloomkins, you can craft more by combining 5 Haunted Candy together! 🍭
Note: Haunted Candy can only be obtained in Official servers.

You can also receive the new items through:
- Random drops from filling up the item cauldron at the end of a round.
- Trading with other players (we recommend using our Discord server to find traders).

Loving the Luaq O'Lanterns as much as we do? Pair up a matching limited-time icon! 🕯️
Play at least one round of Witch It in an Official server during the Halloween 2023 event to earn the icon, but be quick - after the event ends, it will no longer be obtainable!


We're aware of the performance decrease following the transfer of Witch It to Unreal Engine 5, and are making progress towards optimising. In our previous hotfix, we introduced a new "Reflections" slider in video settings, which can be lowered to improve performance. We've also resolved the problem where frame rate would decrease over the course of a match, as well as some glitches that were affecting players on lower graphics settings.

If you are reading this and have experienced frame rate problems previously, please try Witch It again following this update and let us know if you've noticed any improvement in your performance! 🖥️
