Details
VIII Ragnarok is an immeasurably ancient vessel, a relic of days long forgotten. It was built in the shipyards orbiting a world of proud and fearsome warriors. Though the citizens adhered to the Imperial creed and paid their tithes, secret cabals on the planet’s surface worshipped Khorne, the Lord of Rage. Their cults were strong. They were hated. They were in a minority. At the appointed hour, they rose up and tried to overthrow their loyalist masters. They failed. They were defeated in a long, bloody war and all, to a man, perished in flames. Their names were wiped from history. But the fickle whims of the Warp decreed that their vengeful spirits would forever haunt the vessel Ragnarok, whose hull was being constructed in the docks above the planet's surface. To this day, Ragnarok and all aboard it cry, "Vengeance! Death! Blood for the Blood God!"

For a detailed look at the ship's technical specifications, follow this link.

Originally designed for a Naval mission of the purpose now long forgotten, VIII Ignis Purgatio was lost during the Horus Heresy. After missing for several millennia, the ship was rediscovered on one of the Frontier worlds in the Jericho Reach. Though clearly a warship, it was put to use as a transport by its new, uncouth masters who failed to recognize its true potential. After undergoing intensive repairs and cleansing its quarters of its previous inhabitants, Ignis Purgatio was eventually returned to Imperial Navy service and, since then, it has become an essential component of Battlefleet Solar. Once again, it acts as a fearsome guard dog for humanity and, by proxy, the Emperor Himself.

Commanders
The World of Warships Commander roster will be see the addition of two new characters: a valiant naval officer of pious military lineage—Justinian Lyons XIII, and an Aspiring Champion of Khorne—Arthas Roqthar the Cold. Each Commander has their own unique voiceover!
The new Commanders are available only in bundles together with the Warhammer 40,000-themed battleships.
Here are some voice samples—take a listen!

IMPORTANT! Because the update is still being tested, the information in this bulletin is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the update goes live. Screenshots, specific values of certain characteristics, and details of in-game mechanics will not necessarily be relevant after the update is released.
Please note: the rewards for activities on the Public Test server may differ from those on the Live Server.
Grand Battle
A new temporary battle type—Grand Battle—awaits you, and its main feature comes in the form of super battleships. When legendary battleship Yamato was destroyed by aircraft carriers, it presaged the domination of deck aviation in naval warfare. Super battleships are the ships that might have existed if shipbuilding had moved toward the development of main batteries as the primary decisive factor of battle.

Two super battleships will be available to you in the Grand Battle:
  • Satsuma is a project based on Yamato with reinforced primary armament—510 mm guns in four twin-gun turrets.
[expand style=more] [/expand]
  • Hannover is a version of the H-42 project with 483 mm guns in four twin-gun turrets and her secondary battery replaced with dual-purpose artillery with a caliber of 128 mm.
[expand style=more] [/expand]
Things You Should Know
  • Battle format is 9 vs 9, playing Tier IX–X ships, including super battleships. Restrictions: no more than three super battleships per team.
  • Once Update 0.10.5 is released, you will receive Satsuma and Hannover for rent.
  • To enter battle at the helm of a super battleship, you will need a new temporary resource—Intelligence Reports. Participate in the Grand Battle playing Tier IX–X ships to earn the new resource.
  • The rewards include Dazzling expendable camouflages, a commemorative flag, and the Grand Battle patch.

Adjustment Fire
New mechanics have been added for the super battleships—adjustment fire. Each gun salvo that hits a locked target, or lands near it, fills the adjustment fire meter. As soon as it is filled, some ship characteristics get a temporary boost. Satsuma receives a bonus to the accuracy of her main battery; Hannover receives a bonus to the range and accuracy of her secondary battery.

The bonuses can be applied an unlimited number of times in a single battle. If the ship ceases firing for a certain amount of time, the progress of the adjustment fire meter resets.
Thanks to the new mechanics, you can reinforce your ship directly in battle, but to use this feature to maximum effect, you will need to plan your actions and positioning in advance. This will make the gameplay more interesting and diverse.

Damage Caused to Allies
In Update 0.10.5, we are disabling the ability to cause damage to allies. This change will have a positive impact on gameplay—your teammates won't be able to damage or destroy your ship now.

Main changes
  • You can no longer damage allied ships, disable their modules, cause detonation, or destroy them. You can't damage allies by ramming them either.
  • At the same time, all armament types will still hit allied ships. For example, you won't be able to launch torpedoes at an enemy through an allied ship.
  • A warning for unsportsmanlike behavior will now be issued for a certain number of hits on allied ships with any armament type, except for secondary battery hits. You can now be issued a warning for unsportsmanlike behavior only if you hit allied ships with torpedoes and main battery shells 15 times or more.
  • If you continue to break the rules, you will be banned from all battle types, except for Co-op, Clan, and Training Battles.
  • Additionally, you won't earn any Credits or XP for any battle in which you receive the warning for attacking your teammates. If you don't break the rules in your next battles, any resources you earn will be credited to you as usual.
  • The return damage that a ship receives as a penalty for hitting teammates will grow with each subsequent hit on an allied ship.
  • Camera effects that indicate incoming damage won't be active for a ship that is hit by an ally.
  • The warning about allied torpedoes has also been removed, since they can no longer inflict damage.
[expand style=more] [/expand]
Damage to allies has been disabled for all battle types.

Changes to Attack Aircraft
In Update 0.10.5, the rocket-launching mechanics are being updated. Attack aircraft will now fire small-caliber machine guns prior to an attack. They don't inflict damage to ships, but show the exact spot where the rockets are going to hit. This information, together with a prolonged attack time, will allow the Captains of agile ships—destroyers, primarily—to maneuver, and thus reduce possible rocket damage.

This change will be applied to the attack aircraft of all carriers.

Other Changes
A new nation—the Netherlands—has been added. The Netherlands cruiser branch, which is currently being tested, will be transferred to it; once Update 0.10.6 releases, Friesland will also be transferred to it.

Recruitment Points have been updated. They will become a more versatile resource that can be earned by participating in various activities and exchanged for valuable and rare rewards.
  • Recruitment Points have been renamed Community Tokens.
  • You will be able to earn the Tokens by participating in the Recruiting Station referral program, by participating in activities on the Public Test server, for watching World of Warships official streams, and during various regional and global activities.
  • You can spend Community Tokens on different items in the Armory: ships, containers, permanent and expendable camouflages, commemorative flags, and other rewards.
We have updated the sorting and filters in the "Ships" section of the Armory. This change will make navigation easier and allow you to find any ships you are looking for faster.
  • The ships have been arranged in themed sets.
  • They can now be sorted by various criteria, for example—cost and name.
  • A price range can now be specified when selecting a resource in the filters.
  • A filter for ships that can be purchased at a discount has also been added.

The display of upgrades in the Equipment tab has been updated.
  • Now, a full list of upgrades available for purchase is shown in each slot.
  • While in the Equipment tab of the Port, you can now click through to purchase special or unique upgrades from the Armory.
  • Upgrade sorting has been updated.
  • A button allowing you to return to the Equipment tab has been added to the purchase status pop-up window.

Update 0.10.4 brings a new temporary event—the Battle of the Beasts—which is inspired by Germanic mythology. Join one of four teams to complete missions and earn rewards!
Things You Should Know
  • The event lasts a month and is spread over four stages. Each stage lasts 1 week.
  • Each week, you can fight for one of four teams.
  • During the event, you can complete personal missions that are issued daily to all event participants.
  • Completing missions will advance you through personal and team progress bars, as well as unlock rewards.
Rules of the Battle of the Beasts
Starts: Thu. 20 May 09:30 CEST (UTC+2)
Ends: Wed. 16 Jun. 03:30 CEST (UTC+2)

Key Rules
  • The event is divided into four stages, each lasting 1 week.
  • Before starting each stage, you can choose one of four teams:
    • Welthund: a huge black dog with a sole big eye on its forehead. It gets bigger and angrier during epidemics and wars.
    • Feuerputz: a demon that can take on different forms. Most often, it appears as a flaming skeleton or horseman.
    • Glühschwanz: a night ghost in the guise of a dragon. It flies to the homes of witches and miscreants in search of treats at night. If it doesn't receive treats, it burns their houses.
    • Lindwurm: a wingless creature with a dragon's head and a serpentine body that lies in wait for its victims by the water.

  • Participants receive special missions throughout each day. Completing the missions will progress you through personal and team milestones.
  • The missions can be completed playing Tier V–X ships in Random, Co-op, and Ranked Battles.
  • Progress is reset to zero at the beginning of each next stage.
  • All players who have reached Access Level 8 can participate in the event.
Missions
  • Three mission types, with a limited allotted time for each mission, are available to you each day.
    • Missions are issued in a sequential order every 40 minutes.
    • The allotted time for each mission is 120 minutes.

  • After a mission expires, the next mission of the same type becomes available.
  • Battles that end after a mission expires are counted towards the next mission. The only exception is the last missions of each day — the time for counting its results is extended by 20 minutes.
  • A total of 25 missions are available throughout each day.

The missions are only available during a certain time period each day.

    Starts: 09:30 CEST (UTC+2)Ends: 03:30 CEST (UTC+2)
Personal and Team Progress
  • Completing the missions will earn you Points that increase your personal and your team progress.
  • When you reach certain personal and team milestones, you'll receive rewards. For each personal milestone achieved, you'll immediately receive the corresponding reward. To receive a reward for team progress, your personal progress must be equal to or surpass your team's progress.

  • During the week, you can obtain up to 10 rewards: five for personal progress and five for team progress.
  • To obtain all 10 rewards during the week, you should earn 1500 Personal Progress Points and 1500 Team Progress Points.
Earning Points
  • Each mission has four completion marks. Reaching each mark will earn you 20 Points. In total, you can earn 80 Points in one mission.
For example, a mission to earn Base XP may have the following marks: 800 Base XP; 2,000 Base XP; 4,000 Base XP; and 8,000 Base XP. After earning 800 Base XP, you get 20 Points. However, to get the maximum number of Points for this mission and reach the fourth completion mark, you should earn 8,000 Base XP.

  • If you complete the missions more efficiently than other players, then after completing a mission, you’ll receive between 10–25 additional Personal Progress Points, as well as be able to see your position in the overall player standings.
For example, if you complete a mission to earn Base XP and earn more XP than 50% of the other players, you'll be awarded additional Points when the mission ends.

  • The results are summed up when each mission expires, and the teams take their places in the overall team standings.
  • A team receives 5, 7, 9, or 12 Points per mission, based on its position in the team standings. The position in the overall standings, in its turn, depends on the activity of the members of each team.

Rewards
Advancing through your personal and team progress bars will earn you flags and patches with your team's symbols, as well as themed Commanders and a new temporary resource—Beast Tokens .

If you select a new team each week, you can collect all the Commanders, flags, and patches. All Commanders of the Battle of the Beasts event have 10 skill points and are specialized for I Hermelin.

You can have an unlimited number of identical Battle of the Beasts Commanders simultaneously. If you don't change your team, then upon reaching a certain mark on the team's progress bar, you'll receive another themed Commander, as well as compensation for a patch in the amount of 15,000 Credits.

You will also be able to earn one of each new Commander by completing missions obtainable through special Twitch Drops. Stay tuned for a dedicated article with more details.

Beast Tokens
In total, you can obtain up to 440 Tokens: 400 for completing the event missions and 40 from free daily bundles in the Armory.

The Tokens can be exchanged in the Armory for various in-game items, including German Destroyers containers that drop elements for the collection of the same name, as well as Battle of Jutland containers.
