Life is Strange 2 - SE Toby

Hey everyone,

It's now been a few weeks since we released the first episode of Life is Strange 2 and we've really enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts and theories about Sean and Daniel's journey so far. We've also been hard at work on Episode 2 for some time now too.

One thing we're keen to do with Life is Strange 2 is share more with you, the fans, about the development of the game. We'd therefore like to try to update you via our blog here on a regular basis with some of the things that we've been up to and how the next episode is shaping up! These updates will focus primarily on the production of Life is Strange 2 so you needn't worry about spoilers - any specifics about how Sean and Daniel's journey to Mexico continues will be shared separately when we're ready to show them.

While we're not quite ready to talk about a release date for Episode 2 at this time, each of our teams is working very hard to ensure that we can deliver another episode of the highest quality possible. These updates will hopefully shine a light on some of that work and give you an insight into what's going on behind the scenes. We hope you will also find them interesting and useful - we'll be back soon with the first of these updates, so stay tuned!

Patch for Drawing Sequences

Life is Strange 2 - SE Toby

We've today released a patch that fixes some issues with the drawing sequences. This patch will be around 194mb in size and should download automatically.

This patch addresses two major issues when drawing:
• Adds better support for low sensitivity mice/controllers
• Fixes rare occurrences of camera locks

Life Is Strange 2 still makes sitting around fun

My favourite bits of Life Is Strange are the sitting around bits. You know, when Max decides she wants to rest her legs and plops down on the ground next to a convenient tree to lean against and thinks about how weird everything is now that she s got time travel powers. Wonderfully, they re back in Life Is Strange 2 and even better! they re still very good.

Life is Strange 2 isn't pulling its punches

Life is Strange 2

Before playing Life is Strange 2 for myself, I was as skeptical as I was hopeful. While I certainly liked the look of the characters and was intrigued by the game's premise, I had a number of questions as I sat down to play for the first time. Would the protagonists be relatable? Would Life is Strange 2 work as a road movie, rather than sticking to the same town? Could it capture the same sense of magic without fan favourites like Chloe and Max, and could Life is Strange 2 really touch on its chosen subjects such as racism and police brutality with meaning and sensitivity?

Having played the first episode in its entirety, I am thoroughly convinced - Life is Strange 2 is already turning out to be something special. It also doesn't pull any punches.

Oh, and before we go ahead, a word of warning: whopping spoilers lie in wait for Life is Strange 2 Episode 1, as well as Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm.

Brendan: Hello, Alice. I ve just been dandering along a quiet highway in Life Is Strange 2. There s no time-travelling gal pals in this one (at least, none so far) but there is a sad psychic pre-teen and his hoody-wearing brother. I don t know why I m telling you all this, you just played through it too, and we re gonna have a chat about each episode as it comes along – what we liked, what we thought was dumb, who we think is secretly a murderer – rather than wait until the whole game is out to review it. I guess I m explaining all this for our stinking readers. Hey readers. SPOILERS AHEAD.
