Hello Hunters,

We have talked a lot about the diverse environments of Hirschfelden and Layton Lake District over the past days. But of course we know that you are all very curious about the huntable species in theHunter: Call of the Wild. We have created this gallery to introduce the species that you can meet in the world and hope you find it interesting.

Red Deer

One of the largest deer species native to Europe, Western Asia and Northern Africa, the red deer is also related to the American elk. They usually can be found in forest areas where they live in groups and are easily identifiable by their large antlers and red-brown fur pattern.

Fallow Deer

Native to western Europe, the fallow deer with its distinctive palmated antlers and pale brown colored fur can be seen in a variety of woodland areas and open fields. These herbivores can sometimes reach a weight of up to 100 kilograms (220 lbs) for males and 50 kilograms (110 lbs) for females

Roe Deer

The roe deer is native to the continent of Europe and can mostly be spotted in forest areas, from which it sometimes strays to feed on grassland or cultivated soil such as fields. It can be identified by its very distinct call, resembling a barking sound, as well as its relatively small size and unique fur color.

Red Fox

The red fox can be met in the entire northern hemisphere and belongs to the larger fox species. It can be easily identified by its characteristic orange-red fur as well as thick and furry tail. Being relatively small, as well as a master of stealth in its territory, it can prove a challenge when hunting them.

Wild Boar

The wild boar is one of the most widely spread and highly adaptable mammals that can be found in the majority of areas in Europe and Asia. Despite being rather small and bulky, it can still reach an impressive speed of up to 40 km/h (25 mph) when startled. The wild boar is a social animal living in family herds where the mother will most often be at the top of the hierarchy. Adult males can often be found roaming alone, but are known to temporarily join a herd during mating season.

European Bison

One of the biggest and heaviest animals native to the central European fauna, the European wood bison was nearly hunted to extinction in the early 20th century. Reaching a weight up to nearly a metric ton (2200 lbs) it can be found in forest areas and is known to defend itself fiercely if provoked or attacked.

Whitetail Deer

The whitetail deer is known to be one of the fastest moving deer species, able to reach incredible speeds of up to 75 km/h (47 mph) when startled and fleeing. haracterized mostly by its white tail and the shape of its antlers, the white tail deer can be found in various environments, from forests to prairie.

Moose

Unlike a lot of species in the deer family, the Moose is a rather solitary animal, roaming forest and grassland areas of the northern hemisphere. It can be easily identified by its large palmated antlers, long legs and big snout. Also unlike most other deer species, its behaviour can become aggressive and the Moose is known to attack when startled or threatened.

Roosevelt Elk

The Roosevelt elk, with its characteristically large, spiky antlers, can be found in a variety of different terrains such as forest areas, steep or flat grass land, mostly in larger groups. The size difference between male and female animals can be as big as 40%, with an average male weighing up to 330 kilograms (730 lbs)

Black Bear

While being considered relatively small among bears, the black bear is still a very impressive animal, weighing up to 250 kilograms (551 lbs). It can be found in large forest areas and have an outstanding sense of hearing and smell, which makes it challenging to get close to it.
