It's Minion Masters Friday! We've got news about a change to the Season Rollover dates, news about a new Art Contest, and our new Update site for the upcoming Battle Pass!
This patch we’re bringing some frequently requested features to the game by means of a streamlined Bug Reporter and 2v2 Report option as well as a tonne of balance changes to shake things up in the meta.
Please note that for the time being Xbox will not have the Bug Report feature. The Unity feature we use for reporting does not currently support Xbox, but we’ll be investigating how to make it work for Xbox in the future.
Also note that the In-Game timer for the next Battle Pass has increased. We’re doing this to align the Battle Pass release with something as yet unannounced. We’ve added another weekly quest for you during this time, so you can get even further in the Battle Pass and claim those rewards!
With all that away - Let’s dive right in!
Tri-Team Tourney
The Tri-Team Tourney has returned! Collect 15 keys for the house of your choice and vote for which card you’d like to see in the game next! You can only vote for one house, so choose wisely, and earn yourself a Random Legendary Card!
House Valor - Stormbringer, Volco, Ratbo - Ghost Storm
House Triumph - Apep, Morellia, Mordar - Mal’Shar
House Glory - Milloween, Ravager, King Puff - Taurus
The event will last until the release of Version 1.4 - Good luck!
Bug Reporter
Help us help Minion Masters without even closing the game! With the new Bug Reporter tool found in the Settings Menu, you’ll be able to attach a screenshot of the game, add Replays and Crash reports, and give detailed descriptions on the issues encountered. Thanks in advance for our awesome community’s commitment to helping us catch bugs!
2v2 Report
Also coming in this update is the ability to report your teammates at the Results screen for Leaving matches or Griefing. Simply click the Report button and choose between the options provided (You won’t be able to report someone for leaving unless they disconnected from the game) and your replay will be submitted to us for future review. Note that no action will be taken against players before the replays are viewed by a dwarf, and simply being bad at the game doesn’t count as Griefing ;)
Balance

We've got more of a look at the upcoming features in Version 1.3 as well as the new Tri-Team Tourney that lets you vote for a card we'll be making in a future update.
Tri-Team Tourney
The return of our card voting format is here! Similarly to the way our Card-House Contests have worked, the Tri-Team Tourney has you collecting keys for your favoured house and receiving a Legendary card from the first team you open the chest for. We've got Mal'Shar and Taurus making their return appearances from the previous tournaments, and with a new contender Ghost Storm picking up the flag for House Valor. Here's the teams and their respective cards:
House Valor: Stormbringer, Volco, Ratbo - Ghost Storm
House Triumph: Apep, Morellia, Mordar - Mal'Shar
House Glory: Milloween, Ravager, King Puff - Taurus
Your prize for voting for your card of choice will be a random Legendary card. Remember, you can only vote for one of the three teams! Look forward to the contest in Version 1.3.
Version 1.3 Feature List
We've decided to mix things up a little and give a full overview of what can be expected in Version 1.3 - These are the features we're aiming to include, though note that some of these may end up being delayed. Here's what we're planning for the next update:
Conquest Season 4
Tri-Team Tourney
Conquest Retry & general Improvements
Balance Changes
Player Reporting System
Bug Report System
Most of these are fairly self explanatory, but expect to hear more about them in the coming weeks!
King Puff Cup Season 5
The Fifth King Puff Cup Season is just around the corner, with King Puff Cup 34 just recently being announced with a date of July 6th, 2019! We can expect to see the familiar faces that ran a fantastic circuit in the fourth season reprise their roles with the new Sideboard format tested in the Prince Puff Cup series! The sideboard format allows players to submit 8 additional cards that can be swapped into their decks as they wish to adapt to strategies or pull surprises out of the bag, and has already proven to be quite popular with the high-level Minion Masters players. The prize pool hasn't been announced yet, but there is a promise from Julaiwnl that it'll be coming "really soon", so keep your eyes peeled for that.
We're so excited about this patch we don't want to delay any further, let's get into it:
New Master - Morellia the Lich Queen
Morellia the Lich Queen, Ruler of the Cursed lands, Queen of Souls, and Dragon Binder. Her magical power is rivaled only by her sister Milloween, but unlike her sister, Morellia uses her powers mercilessly in pursuit of her own ambitions. Wielding the Book of the Dead, she can call upon a host of powerful Death Magic to decimate her foes. However, the ancient soul trapped within the book is forever plotting its release.
In the end all will serve the Lich Queen.
Morellia will be available for 1500 Shards, or 775 Rubies.
Azali’s ability to protect flying swarm minions, in particular Nether Bats produced by Bats Bats Bats, was a frustrating mechanic to play against due to their unpredictability and “backstabbing” of units played to counter the combination.
One of the things Azali does well is providing a dream scenario you can build your deck around, but when you combine the shield mechanic with flying swarms, you get distinctly frustrating decks to play against. We wanted to maintain the dream, but make sure the opponent had a greater chance of being able to deal with the strategy without requiring an extremely specific deck counter.
Guardian
Now only shields Crystal Elves
Mana Cost 6 > 5
Damage 60 > 80
Damage change also affects Crystal Construct
Developer Comments
Guardian is a card that has proven particularly problematic as the card collection developed due to its high potential to protect otherwise vulnerable, but powerful Minion combos from removal effects or general damage, creating strategies that often felt unfair to play against. We opted to have Guardian fit more of a faction-based niche to fit thematically with the theme of the Crystal Elf Constructs. Like the Azali change, this greatly reduces the potential for abusive combinations with the card, but still retains its core identity.
Nyrvir the Fallen
Nyrvir Slumbers now does 80 damage over 4 seconds via 20 damage ticks once per second.
Health 1800 > 2200
Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where Nyrvir’s damage was significantly lower than intended during her first attack.
Developer Comments
Nyrvir Slumbers was a bit harder to pull off than we’d have liked, with effects such as Shield providing a hard counter to your ability to collect Spectral Essence from the card, as well as the small damage range not being effective enough to kill some desirable targets. Additionally, Nyrvir herself felt too easy to remove once you had managed to play her, so we felt a health boost was in order.
Ratbo
Damage 5 > 6
Developer Comments
One of Ratbo’s weaknesses was his basic attack, with its total DPS being among the lowest in the game, often leaving him defenseless against medium or larger sized units if he wasn’t able to flood the board with his scrats.
Snake Druid
Health 60 > 80
Root Duration 2 > 6 seconds
Developer Comments
Snake Druid, while a much beloved card of a small audience, suffered from how easily it could be picked off from small units, meaning that it often failed to get much value after its initial play. By increasing the HP he remains a bit more survivable, though easy to deal with on his own. More significant, however, is the increase of the Root Duration that will primarily apply once Snake Druid has been removed or forced to stop attacking, ensuring that the card will gain value.
Stormy
No longer stuns himself
Range 8 > 6
Speed 3 > 5
Developer Comments
Stormy was particularly safe for how frustrating it could be to play against. By removing the self-stun (but not the self damage) it will no longer continuously retarget to the closest minion, while the range and speed nerfs aim to put him in harm’s way faster and make him easier to deal with by reducing the effective time he can stay in the radius of cards such as Priestess and Healing Shrine.
Undying Skeleton/Cursebearer
Damage 50 > 60
Developer Comments
This change is mainly directed towards Undying Skeleton as we felt it has been underperforming, particularly in the new Toll of the Dead. Hopefully a small buff in damage will help give it the impact it needs.
Xiao Long
Damage 25 > 20
Developer Comments
Xiao was a bit too effective at his job - Being an annoying ranged minion that could discourage the usage of spells and support a push effectively. This damage nerf aims to retain that discouragement while making him less effective in more general cases.
[h1Misc
Made resummoning minions more consistent. Minions with buffs, such as Shielded Crossbow Dudes or Divine warrior, do not resurrect with their buff effects anymore. Additionally, on play effects such as Lord-Sentinel Thelec or Empowered Souls Stealers rage-trigger are no longer triggered when the Minion is resummoned.
Changed the name of “Recruit” to “Craft”.
Added a tip to the “Trophy Up” tutorial quest to indicate where achievements can be claimed.
Added highlights to buttons in the tutorial when a player is asked to click on them.
Claimable Quests will now show up first in the Quest Carousel.
Reworded the Season Crafting Discount to prevent confusion.
Clarified that the +2 from Stormbringer’s second perk is from Marksmanship.
It’s been a hectic week since the release of Minion Masters, and our servers certainly took a hammering from all of you! We’ve been steadily patching things on our end as we go along, but there’s a number of client side changes and fixes we want to make today with this update. Rest assured that we’re working on more fixes for the next patches, they just take time to solve. In the meantime, keep reporting all the issues you encounter, it’s most helpful!
Spawn of Fury
New in this update is the community-voted Spawn of Fury! This Legendary Spell offers pain and duplication, splitting your strongest minions in half to wreak havoc on the battlefield. Spawn of Fury is available to Recruit for 2000 shards, and is obtainable from regular Power Token spins.
Misc
Added the KPI4 skin, a celebration of katt’s victory at the 4th King Puff Invitational - It will be available for purchase when the next circuit of the KPC begins.
Twitch Drops reward increased from 10 to 50 Gold.
Twitch Drops now have a cooldown of 5 minutes before you can receive another one.
Twitch Drop rewards will now tell you what Key you earned when claiming them.
Guild Conquest has been added to the Quest Carousel.
Improvements to the way your preferences are saved to reduce decks and other account details being wiped.
Adjusted how Season Resets kick players off the server. Players will no longer be removed in the middle of a match.
Added tooltips to Shards, Power Tokens, and Season Tokens in the Shop.
Adjusted the order in which Shields are ordered. The priority is now Divine Shield > Guardian Shield > Shield > Minion Abilities.
Bugs
Fixed an issue where the server would incorrectly claim you had unowned cards.
Fixed Nyrvir the Fallen mysteriously disappearing if she was Netherstepped.
Fixed a bug where a “Requesting Spin” message would persist into a match.
Fixed an instance where Player 1’s Stun Lancers would stun those belonging to Player 2 if they attacked each other at the same time, instead of both units being stunned.
Fixed Musketeer losing Shield if he parries an attack. Now, Musketeer will not activate Parry if he has a shield available - Thanks Caspar!
Fixed an instance where a unit transforming into a Werewolf was invulnerable - Thanks Khazlariko!
Fixed a case where Lycanthropy did not activate properly when sun burned - Thanks Jackeea!
Fixed a case where Grasping Thorns’ debuff was not properly removed from a unit after being hypnotised.
Fixed a bug where Haunting Hugger would generate more Spectral Essence than expected.
Fixed a bug where Haunting Hugger would not return if it possessed the Settsu minion, and she left the battlefield.
Fixed Nyrvir’s Breath not turning Blood Imps into Skeletons - Thanks Wildcard!
Fixed Bonus Shards from spinning a Max Glory card not being claimed visually - Thanks Leto!
Fixed Member Count not being considered for Guild Searches - Thanks sera!
Fixed Armor of Light visual effect being larger than its effective radius - Thanks GReyWolF!

Join our Discord Server for more giveaways in the following days!
Phew, so much giving wears you out, but there’s no rest at the BetaDwarf fortress. We’ll be active on all the channels today, answering questions and collecting information, and you might even find us on the ladder. Strictly testing, of course.
But first, we celebrate, and we want you to send your best toast our way!
v1.0 is here and the game is released! As we look back at our time in Early Access, we see a long list of planned and unplanned features that took shape with your help! We'll remember major experiments such as Expeditions - if you haven’t heard Videogamer77 shout “Baguettes!” on stream, you really should check him out. The introduction of Team Battle brought a whole new group of players into the fold, and the various events we've iterated on throughout the 1½ years of Early Access turned into a dependable way for Streamers and the community to share rewards.
v1.0 is a major milestone. We’ve finished the core of Minion Masters - and we'll use that to build the future. Guilds was the last big thing to iterate on, and we've ironed out many issues and successfully completed Conquest (for now - we still have plenty we want to do!). Quite importantly however, is the fact that Minion Masters releases on Xbox One today, and a whole new community joins us to enjoy the game! Of course, there’s no 1.0 without a good batch of new things, so with this update comes the Battle Pass Bones & Bravery, balance and more!
As mentioned, v1.0 is but a milestone. It's not the end, it's not even the beginning. But it is a beginning. From here we will keep updating the game with new Battle Passes, iterations on old features, possibly new platforms, and of course a bunch of new and exciting features! There's still much to do in optimizing, bug fixing and balancing, and it'll all come along the way. With your help we'll keep gathering information about every obscure (or obvious) bug in existence, and we'll thank you for your contributions!
As a great way to kick off this new evolving period - we've revealed a brand new Master coming to the game - Morellia, the Lich Queen! You can check her out on theupdate site
And without further ado, let's get into the changelog:
Bones & Bravery
Accursed Ascension Collect 20 Spectral Essence to activate Accursed Ascension. Spectral Essence is gained from Accursed Minion and Spells.

Now, when a Streamer wins a Watch & Win fight while streaming, every member of their audience who has linked their in-game and Twitch accounts will receive the prize via Twitch Drops instead of the shareable code system.
Twitch Extension - Streamer Audience
The Streamer Audience is now integrated with a Twitch Extension interface
Viewers on Twitch get their own character in-game to cheer the Streamer on!

Keys are earned through Prize Fight events while playing that will appear at random when a match starts. Win the match to earn a key!
Keys are also earned through watching Streamers that complete Watch & Win events. Make sure you have your in-game account linked to Twitch to receive Twitch Drops!

Spirit Vessel
Mana Cost 3 > 2
Health 250 > 50
Damage 40 > 25
Attack Speed 1.1 > 2.0
AIM Bot
Now also gains Shield when Summoned
Developer Comments
AIM Bot's original intention was to trade off the increased Mana Cost by making it a safer supportive card through the use of Marksmanship, but the increase in range simply was never useful enough to justify paying the premium for it over Drone Walker. We'd like to reinforce the "safe" aspect of the card by making it much more durable against removal through the addition of a Shield, while not removing its weakness against cards that can close the distance quickly such as a Prowler or Incubus.
Rampage
Mana Cost 3 > 2
Area of Effect 8 > 6
Developer Comments
Rampage is a card that has been in a weak spot ever since the Rage nerf removed its volatile nature. Increasing the usability of the card as such should make it an easier inclusion in the types of decks that would effectively make use of the Damage increase while hopefully not being as explosive to play against as the status effect was in its prime.
Caeleth Dawnhammer
Mana Cost 9 > 8
Developer Comments
This change to Caeleth is fairly straightforward - He was too difficult to make use of at 9 mana, with his Divine Shield effect, while strong, not being enough of a justification to include in most decks. Hopefully this change will give him the boost he needs to be useful for play.
Demon Warrior
Attack Speed 2.5 > 2.2
Developer Comments
One noted weakness of Demon Warrior was when she had to face off against multiple units. Even as a win condition, she would suffer against even the smallest groups of swarm due to her slow Attack Speed - So we're giving that aspect of her a significant boost, but not to the extent that it removes her primary weakness. This change should make her more of an immediate threat that you have to answer.
Dragon Ball
Mana Cost 5 > 6
Mana Cost to activate Dragon Ball’s effect 6 > 6+
Developer Comments
Dragon Ball has been a particularly efficient card ever since its inception, finding a home in aggressive decks of all shapes and sizes. We've tried to keep it at 5 Mana so that it met two particular goals; that it didn't feel too bad to play unactivated, and to be a viable activator for Shars'Rakk Twins. However, the value provided from the Dragon Whelp ultimately proved to be too much regardless of what mana cost the Activator was at, merely shifting around what kind of deck could make the most of the card. As such we're opting to push it to the 6 Mana mark, but in exchange make it slightly easier to activate in a deckbuilding sense by expanding the range of options you have to combo it with.
Shieldguard of Light
Mana Cost 6 > 7
Developer Comments
Shieldguard has been a powerhouse card for a while, and how best to change him was a frequent topic of discussion internally after our previous smaller adjustment didn't have an effect on his prominence. Suggestions included lowering his health or cutting his damage and focusing on his charge, and while we did consider and work with these changes at first, we iterated into focusing on the "One Man Army" identity of the card. We wanted him to be powerful, and thus we are instead opting to put him at a higher mana cost without particularly reducing his effectiveness on the battlefield.
