Introducing the latest clan to make their way upon the shores of Northgard, The Clan of the Lynx!



Led by Mielikki, the Beastmaster, the Clan of the Lynx have an exceptional connection with nature. Proud Hunters, their excellent archery skills and unmatched luring ability is more than enough to ensure the ongoing prosperity of their people.

The Clan adopted the graceful but threatening lynx’s Brundr & Kaelinn when they were just cubs, raising them to serve as the eyes of the clans esteemed leader and a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

The Clan of the Lynx is expected to arrive in September and we’ll have more news about the clan very soon!

Today, we’re releasing a comprehensive balance patch designed primarily around feedback and suggestions posed to us by the community since our last balancing patch back in March. We’ve made a number of major changes and even introduced some new mechanics with this update and you can see everything we’ve been working on below!

WARNING!

Please note that we have introduced a backup system for the game progress save file. As with any new system, there is a risk to lose your progress. Please make a copy of any files starting by "stats_" contained in your "save" folder.




Call to arms

Now placed in third ⇒ first position.

REMOVED
Converts all civilians in the area into Militia. They can’t go outside of your territory.

Call to Arms is a passive ability placed on your Town Hall. Every six months, homeland sends you 2 Militia to help you defend your territory. Militia is a self-sufficient unit that patrols within your territory and attacks any incoming threats. You can have a maximum of 2 Militia in your territory.

Each kill on allied territory gives +100% Military Experience.


Garrison

Now placed in first ⇒ second position.

Each Defense Tower adds +1 to your maximum warband (+2 if upgraded).

REMOVED Each kill on allied territory gives +100% Military Experience.

You gain 1 free Tower upgrade each year.

You can have a maximum of 4 Militia in your territory.

The XP gain bonus of the guardian Path (which used to be on Garrison) no longer gives double XP to players that kill units of a guardian player on his territory.


Suppressing fire

Now placed in second ⇒ third position.

Human units within an area that contains an allied Defense Tower gain +30% defense.

REMOVED You gain 1 free Tower upgrade each year.

You can have a maximum of 6 Militia in your territory.





  • New hotkey on Shift+Left click to add/remove a unit from the selection
  • New hotkey on Ctrl+Left click to select units of the same type within a selection
  • New hotkey on Ctrl+[1-9] to create a new group with the selection (already exist within the game, but never got exposed in the Options)
  • Select cycle is now called “Go next in Unit/Building type” for clarity purposes
  • New toggle to choose rather Icons or Military are displayed by default on the minimap
  • New toggle to choose to display World Info by default or not




Data mods:

Addition of modifiable values ​​in Cdb
  • Tool upgrade, weapon upgrade and relic cost in the forge
  • Wood consumption by units
  • Number of units assignable by default to a building

Source of incredible knowledge, this new zone is protected by 3 spectral warriors and can be colonized with Lore only. Increases building, repairing and forging speed by 30%.




Silos:
  • Cost: 100 ⇒ 80 Wood
Bragaful:
  • Under 500 Commercial Influence: +6 ⇒ +3
  • Between 500 and 1000 Commercial Influence: +8 ⇒ +6
  • Between 1000 and 1500 Commercial Influence: +10 ⇒ +9







Veiled threats
  • Improves your Trade Routes Kröwns income by 75% ⇒ 50% if you have a Warchief and by 150%⇒ 130% with the Warchief in the same zone as the Trading Post. You can trade even when at war.






Poison
  • Decreases target’s attack speed and move speed by 20% ⇒ 35% for 2 seconds.
BUGFIX
  • Scorched Earth now loots resources on neutral factions.






Sheep
  • Having at least one Sheep in an area reduces the need for Firewood by 20% during winter for this area. This effect also lasts all year long if the Sheep is in a Sheepfold.
BUGFIX
  • The former sheep bonus was active all year for all clans and has been corrected.
Food Trade
  • Food trade also increases your Trade Routes Kröwns income by 70% on tiles with a natural food source.






Whirlwind
  • Dragonkin frequently ⇒ sometimes executes a mighty swirling strike that damages all surrounding enemies.
Buy thralls:
  • Price increases by 40 ⇒ +50 krowns each time
  • Price decreases -2 ⇒ -4 Krowns each month






Starting Bonuses:
  • Learning a new Lore gives 20 Fame instead of 15.
Greater Blessings (requires 500 Fame )
  • Freya: Winter penalty is massively reduced (30% ⇒ 70% for Food , 50% for Wood ).
  • Baldr: +5 Happiness and +2 Lore production
  • Jörd: WarchiefYour army and upgraded towers get +10% attack
Handiwork
  • Handiwork also grants -10% building upkeep costs.
Osmosis:
  • You obtain 1 Happiness for every 3 colonized zones.
  • Zones with Forests, Swamps, Poisonous Swamps or Fish provide 1 Happiness .






Recruits (requires 200 Fame )
  • Sailors also produce +100% fame .

Hey Everyone!
We're really proud to finally present you the fourth major free update, and possibly the most game changing (no pun intended) yet, The Map Editor!

The Map Editor update stands as one of our biggest updates yet and whole new level of customization to Northgard, allowing you to create and modify battlefields almost limitlessly, populating your maps with buildings, resources, decorations and AI factions of your choosing alongside full control over the visual design and layout of the map.

With this update also comes an external tool allowing even more customization, giving you the ability to change the values of units or buildings (such as attack/defense power, health, price etc..) and write scripts to setup maps with certain units/resources or entirely new victory conditions.

And on top of all of that, the update also implements Steam Workshop support, meaning you guys can create, share, download and play (in both single and multiplayer) each others creations hassle free through Steam!




Here's some more information on what you can do in the editor:
  • Modify maps from classic Northgard map generations

  • Change the elevation and natural barriers between each zones

  • Add any buildings, decorations, creatures/AI of your choosing

  • Edit and customize the starting zones owned by the players

  • Add and edit the special tiles found throughout the map

  • Paint the map with dirt, grass, forest grass and cliff rocks, depending on the biome you created the map on




Mimirsbrunn:


Allows you to assign a villager to become a runemaster and produce lore. They may also discover a new knowledge from opposing clans.

Udarbrunn:


Provides a healing bonus to your healers and allows the use of the Cleanse ability.

Landvidi:


Units inside this tile gain invisibility, making them undetectable from anyone outside of it.

Poisonous Swamp:


Exudes a poisonous gas which hurts and slows anything that dares pass through it.

Naströnd:


Thick thorns prevent anyone but the most agile of warriors to pass though. They can be cleared by a scout, providing additional wood resources.





With the external tool, you can:
  • Change the values from units or building, such as attack/defense power, health, price etc...
  • Write scripts to setup a map with certain units/resources or add new victory conditions.

And that's not all, as with this update comes full Steam Workshop support, so once you're able to upload your modded maps on steam workshop, download community created ones and play them all with multiplayer support.


Please be aware, that the Map Editor is currently in "Beta Phase" so you may experience some bugs/quirks or crashes during use, however we aim to identify and resolve any outstanding issues as quickly as possible, so please please inform us of any problems you experience via our forums or Discord!





We know that creating mods can represents some issues, for that we created a full documentation where you'll be able to find tutorials and some answers to your questions. Click on the link to access to this documentation!










In addition to the new map editor tools, we have also made some small changes to the game, details of which can be found below:
  • Steam users can now play multiplayer with GOG users (And vice versa)
  • New tiles introduced with the editor can be found in non user generated maps

We've been hard at work collecting and collating your feedback the past few months and using your insights we have implemented numerous alterations and improvements to the game for the latest Northgard balance patch. Check out what we've been up to below!




- New Altar of Kings cost:
  • 300 Woods
  • 300 Kröwns
  • 15 Stones (Instead of 10)
- Altar of Kings has been reworked, it now gives:
  • +1 Wood / +1 Food / +1 Kröwn / +1 Lore for every 200 Fame - (0-199 Fame : +0 ; 200-399 Fame : +1 ; 400-599 Fame : +2 ; etc) +50 Fame after building it
  • +1 Happiness
- The Clan of the Snake can no longer build the Altar of Kings.

- Lighthouse & Kraken Event:
  • Building a Lighthouse on a Harbor or a Longship Dock prevents it from being attacked by the Kraken Event.
- Carved Stone:
  • Cost cuts from 15 Stones to 10 Stones .
- Brewery Price Reduction:
  • 80 Woods
  • 40 Kröwns .
- Villagers can no longer repair a Tower on a Tile under attack.




- Healers / Menders:
  • Healing Speed has been improved by +10%.
- Smiths:
  • Relics take less time to forge.
- Shield Bearers:
  • Attack Power +5%
  • Defence Power -5%
- Wyverns:
  • Wyverns have received a complete cosmetic redesign and are now scarier than ever!



- AI has been improved: Better resource management, better defense and a bit more aggressive.

- World Hostility has been increased by +10%.

- Winter Wood's consumption now depends on difficulty.

- Draugr Invasion Event is scaled upon difficulty.

- Earthquake Events are scaled upon difficulty.




- World Hostility is always set to High in ranked games.






- Guardian, Suppressing Fire:
  • Yearly free Defense Tower upgrade is now stacked if not used.
- Conqueror, Veteran fighters:
  • Skirmishers: increased the Decolonisation Speed by +5% each. (Previously for Dragonkins).
  • Dragonmen: Whenever a dragonkin kills an enemy unit, you gain a few Dragon Essence.






- Mjöllnir:
  • Damages are halved on military units.
- Bragaful:
  • Kröwns bonus depending on your Commercial Influence is improved.
- Scabbard of Gram:
  • Deceleration Speed reduced by -5%
- Jörmunr:
  • You can colonize zones with Lore every 4 months (instead of 6).






- Erudition:
  • Increases Loremaster Production by 40%. First Carved Stone is free.
- Negotiate:
  • +20% marketplace stock replenishment.
- Recruitment:
  • FROM: “Permanently increases Population Growth Speed by 25%. This raises to 50% during 6 months if any unit from your clan is killed by an enemy clan or sacrificed.”
  • TO: Permanently increases population growth speed by 25%. You gain an additional 5% during 4 months for each unit from your clan killed by an enemy clan or sacrificed. (Max 75%) “
- New Boar's stolen lore:
  • Osmosis (previously Legacy)










- City Builder:
  • In improved zones, specialized units get a +10% Production Bonus (instead of 15%) and Buildings upkeep cost is reduced by -50% (instead of -100%). Reduces cost of area’s development by -50%.
- Military Pressure (200 Fame bonus):
  • All non-villager units get a production bonus depending on the number of military units you control.
- The True Hero (500 Fame bonus):
  • Torfin can use provocation: all enemy units and towers target Torfin during a short period and his Defense Power is increased by +100% for 6 seconds (instead of 10 sec.)
- Unstoppable:
  • Torfin gains +5% Attack Power and Defense Power for each discovered Ancestral Equipment. Whenever a unit dies in the same zone as Torfin, his Health slowly regenerates by 10% of the dead unit’s max Health .







- Norns:
  • Happiness Production +20%
  • Wyrd Production +10%.
- Near The Sea Spirit:
  • Generates +1 Kröwn and +1 wyrd every 3 buildings on coastal zones. (Instead of 4 buildings.)
- Foresight Lore moved to replace Medicine.

- Howl of the Sea Master (500 Fame bonus):
  • Military units killed in a neutral or enemy zone have 30% chance to become Spectral Warrior, joining your ranks under your orders. (Max 7 spectral warriors under your control).








- Signy:
  • -5% Attack Power .







- Dragonkin:
  • -5% Attack Power .







- Lay of the Land:
  • The Environment Hostility has been reduced by -70%
  • Increase of the Production by 10% for non-villager units in Forests, Swamps or Fish. (Instead of 10% for all the villagers.)
- Bartering:
  • Neutrals will no longer accept the same trading ressources twice. (Except for food for giants)
- Lore Tree:
  • “Osmosis” is moved from “Negotiate” to “Trading Caravan”.







- Gear Upgrade:
  • Gives +2% Attack Power (Instead of 1%) and Defense Power for each active Sailor or Merchant (20% max instead of 15%).







- Add a new feature on Goat’s Relic: Building Goat’s Relic now allows you to build another Sheepfold.

- New Starting Bonus:
  • The Clan start with one Sheep and can build 2 Sheepfolds.
- Sheep produce 10% less Food .

- “Shepherd” Lore and “Spare Tools” (Goat’s 200 Fame bonus) are reversed.








- Hero Emblem:
  • Altar of Kings cost 5 Stones to build.





- While kiting with ranged units, the next attack takes a little bit of time to throw a projectile.

- Wolves can migrate to empty neutral territory.

- It is no longer possible to assign another sheep to a Sheepfold with the “industrious” Lore.

- Wyverns fixes: Skin colors change upon their Power / Resolved a difficulty issue on Hard Mode in Cooperation (Conquest)

- Earthquake can no longer target the Altar of Kings.

- The steam overlay display has been fixed for macOS Catalina

It's time to reveal the latest clan to grace the lands of Northgard... Please welcome the Clan of the Ox!






Led by Torfin, an ancient leader who returned to help his progeny, it is known for its tremendous might and unrelenting devotion to its ancestors. While they may not be the fastest starters, once they've gained some momentum, they can crush anyone and anything in their way.





  • Your Warchief is the powerful Torfin.
  • He can find Ancestral Equipment from Ancient Battlegrounds and equip them to become even stronger.
  • Your units are tougher, larger and eat 10% more than the other clans.
  • They have a +15% attack power and defence bonus.
  • Specialized civilian units have a +40% base production bonus, except loremasters.
  • Buildings can hold only one unit, and houses hold less people.











An imposing and unpredictable figure, with unmatched strength and an arsenal of Ancestral Equipment that served only to enhance his already devastating array of attacks, Torfin was considered by those who had not had the misfortune of crossing his path in battle to be an embodiment of tall tales and hearsay.

Now, having led the Ox Clan to becoming one of the most feared and respected in all of Northgard, there are few who question his legitimacy as he lies dormant, awaiting the day that his people call upon him and his immense power once more.









Even in death, Torfin continues watching you upon his Throne from his stone statue. It shows everyone the past, the future and the glory of your Clan, represented by the Clan of the Ox’s most amazing and powerful Warchief in its history.

Torfin isn’t recruited like a usual Warchief. Like a god avatar, you can summon him from his own Throne. His cost is as huge as his might (15 and 250 ).









With centuries of battles behind him, Torfin is able to recall where he can obtain and equip the very same Ancestral Equipment that brought him and the Clan of the Ox so many battlefield victories in aeons past in order to considerably increase all of his abilities and heighten his already devastating array of attacks.




After being summoned, Torfin remembers ancient gigantic battles and where to find some useful equipment. Depending on your military experience, those ancient battlegrounds can appear everywhere in Northgard. Torfin can excavate buried Ancestral Equipment from there, and equip them.









There are 6 unique items of Ancestral Equipment dedicated to Torfin, who is able to wear only 1 equipment of each type, so you have to choose your equipment wisely before charging your enemies. You can change Torfin’s equipment at any time whilst in your territory if not battling.

It is a terrific helm. It is said that Torfin stole it from the gods themselves with only his pure strength. Forging it back grants Torfin with the ability to “Ram” buildings. Target a building and Torfin will ram to it and destroy it in one headbut. A few buildings are immune to this attack : non-clan buildings, carved stone and Townhall.








  • In improved zones, specialized units get a +15% production bonus and buildings don’t have an upkeep cost.
  • Can be stolen by the Snake Lore “Stolen Lore”.

  • Idle military units in your territory gain Military Experience.
  • 50% of Training Camp upgrade cost.

  • Weapons are +50% faster to forge and cost -50% less.
  • Warriors gain +100% damage after charging (10s cooldown).

  • Torfin gains +5% and for each discovered Ancestral Equipment.
  • Whenever a unit dies in the same zone as Torfin, his regenerates by 10% of the dead unit's max health.

  • Gaining military experience gives and .








By challenging the Ox Conquest, the Clan of the Ox gets specific Conquest-only bonuses:

Ox clan has its own conquest map. If you manage to win Conquest mode with the Clan of the Ox, you will unlock the special Ox Townhall.

  • No more cooldown for Warchiefs at the beginning of the game, except for Kaija.

  • New Sheep Master achievement can now be achieved

  • Stolen lore can steal all allowed lores, not only those from Clans that you own.

  • Svalinn's relic protects now your clan from "High Tide" and "Spectral Warriors" Kraken abilities.

  • Svarn's requests for help during the Chapter 6 of the Story Mode now work as intended.

  • You can now build only one Altar of Kings at a time as intended.

  • Text chat no longer disappear when typing message with numpad.

  • Fixed display of resources obtained from imports.

  • It is no longer possible to use infinite amount of workers on Hörgr.

  • Clicking on Kraken’s spectral attack notification now redirects the camera to the attacked tile.

  • All giant's have an AoE attack that deal damage on every non-allied units.

  • “Near The Sea Spirit” correctly allows Trading Route when stolen by Snake.

  • In chapter 9 of the Campaign, Hrímgandr isn’t blocked anymore by watchtowers.

Hey guys! The Winter Festival is here and it comes with A TON of cool changes! The game’s balance has been completely redone, and we truly hope you’ll have even more fun playing Northgard :-)

I. It’s the Winter Festival again!
  • Permafrost is the default biome during the winter festival.
  • Villagers can build snowmen
  • Giant Trees have winter decoration.
  • Axe Throwers throw snowballs
  • Some Deer have red nose.
  • Bears on Permafrost are white

II. General Changes

1. Lore Related Changes

A LOT of different Lores have been modified to make the game more enjoyable and intuitive to play:
  • Trading lore doesn’t exist anymore.
  • Shipbuilding now allows the Lighthouse.
  • Coinage now allows the trading routes.
  • Mining Efficiency is now at Tier I in Wealth Tree, replacing Trading
  • New Mining Efficiency: +50% speed mining. No more additional ore.
  • Eradication becomes a generic Lore, no longer a Stag specific lore. It is a Tier II in Growth Tree, replacing Mining Efficiency.
  • New Eradication: Silo bonus +10%. -50% upgrade costs. No more happiness bonuses.
  • Recruitment is now triggered when sacrificing a Dragon unit or slaughtering a sheep or a giant boars
  • Medecine : +50% healing speed (no more Healers can bring food when they do not heal).
  • Military Strategy get a max set at 25%

This patch will introduce two new Lores that fill holes in some of the clans potential. These will grant us more flexibility when balancing the game or designing new clans:
  • Tier IV in Growth branch ⇒ Shiny Happy People: -20% required happiness based on your population
  • Tier IV in Wealth branch ⇒ Trading Caravan: Trading Route gets +20%. Affinity with neutral factions grows quicker

2. General Relic Related Changes
  • Mjolnir: does less damage during a shorter time.
  • Skull of Hrungnir: gets a 1 year cooldown and you can summon more than 1 zombie giant.

3. Miscellaneous Changes

Coming with the rework of the Lore tree, the following changes will help balance things up:
  • Healers can bring food when they do not heal. No need for Medicine lore anymore.
  • The Townhall provides +1 krowns.
  • Basic Mining speed has been slowed down.
  • Skirmishers are no more accessible to all clans. They are exclusive to the Snake clan.
  • New tool for Scouts: +15% scouting speed, run between territories
  • Forge building cost is reduced: 60 wood, 15 krowns, 30 sec build time
  • Spectral warriors and Myrkalfars can be found in any Biome, not only Ragnarok.
  • New Altar of Kings: +3 Food / Wood / Krowns / Lore, +1 happiness, 50 fame
  • Supply lines penalty decreasing with time -5% per year
  • There can be more than one Bear in a zone, depending on difficulty and Townhall distance
  • We added a cooldown for the first recruitment of the Warchiefs (This includes Kaija, but not Signy).
  • Projectile Resistance is now an ability.
  • When playing in multiplayer with or against AIs, it is now possible to have an infinite pause.
  • You can keep exploring a Ruin or Shipwreck an ally started to explore without starting over.

4. Neutral Faction Changes

A few things have changed regarding the Neutral Factions behavior to give them a fair impact on the game:
  • Trading with neutral factions improves trading over time.
  • Trading with them prevent them from attacking you (works with Kobolds and Myrkalfar).
  • If you have a positive relationship with a neutral faction, they won’t attack your territories.
  • Blain gets the thunder attack, like the Raven's Giant Mercenaries.

III. Clan Balancing



  • Fresh Fish replaces Hearthstone
  • Foresight replaces Recruitment
  • Near the sea Spirit:
    +1 Krown and +1 Wyrd for 4 building on coastal zone.
    Now replaces Shipbuilding
  • Knowledge from Beyond now allows the trading routes.
  • Fame 500 - Howl from the Sea Master:
    During the Kraken event, your clan is feasting.


  • Quality of Life replaces Negotiate
  • Warcry cooldown is now shared between both warchiefs.
  • Metalcraft:
    Now replaces Mining efficiency
    Warchiefs mining and forge speed is increased by +60%
  • Excavation: Every Warchief Mining stone or iron produces +4 lore


  • Draconic Frenzy:
    +100% att if a military unit fights with no other allied military unit in the zone.
  • Dragonkin:
    20% projectile resistance is now displayed
    Attack power 12 => 13
    Move speed +10%
  • Blood, Sweat & Tears replaces Medicine
  • Capture: Chance to capture is doubled if warchief is in zone
  • Skull of Hrungnir:
    You can now summon more than one Undead Giant.
    We added a 1 year cooldown after each Undead Giant recruitment
  • Slave Trade replaces Erudition


  • Skirmishers are now exclusive to Snake clan.
  • New Signy:
    She has new stats and she grows quicker
    Age 16: Signy gain ranged attack
    Age 17: Signy can go through neutral foes zones like skirmishers

Hey everyone!

We're really proud to finally present you the third major free update, and the biggest one yet: Northgard Conquest.

Northgard Conquest is a standalone game-mode that can be played solo or co-op, with a succession of various challenges offering a gaming expansion of +100 hours. The difficulty of the co-op mode will be based on strong collaboration between players.

Forget the lore, choose your clan and let's fight!







Northgard Conquest offers you the possibility to choose your own experience when facing the harsh challenges of Northgard Conquest.






If you want to challenge yourself and personalise your Clan with unique bonuses whilst counting on your own skills and decisions, then choose the Northgard Conquest solo-mode, defeat the other clans and claim the Throne.

Believe in your strengths, establish the best strategy, exploit resources in an optimal way and build the most formidable clans to endure Northgard’s relentless hostility!





Another addition is the ability to share your adventure and overcome the harsh obstacles with the power of collaboration in the new Northgard Conquest co-op mode.

Northgard Conquest encourages teams to experiment and discover every combo available in this game-mode! But beware, Northgard Conquest is a cunning opponent! Having two in a team means double power, double bonuses and of course, double the problems! But nothing is impossible for fearless vikings.

Plan a global strategy, divide the tasks, collaborate, and master the continent together!







Northgard Conquest introduces a brand new way to present and organize all the different challenges Northgard Conquest offers: The Conquest Map.



The Conquest Map is formed by several challenges, 3 of which are specific to each Clan (and adapted to their specialties) which remain constant. The other challenges are pulled from a random pool of challenges, which means that if you restart a Conquest with the same Clan, you will get a different map with different challenges!

As soon as you succeed in one of the 3 specific challenges, several different paths are unlocked and the choice of which path you take is up to you.










Conquest challenges are completely independent between themselves and will challenge you with various specific victory conditions and rules for each challenges. Here’s some examples:


Too Many Wyverns:
Victory condition:

- Kill 3 Wyverns.

Special rules:

- Lots of Wyverns are spotted, it's time for a hunt!
- Town Halls are already protected by updgraded Watch Towers.





Race to Yggdrasil:
Victory condition:

- Find the legendary World Tree Yggdrasil, and be the first to conquer it.

Special rules:

- Yggdrasil is larger and cost twice the price to colonize.
- There is more Fishes, Fertile Lands and Deer in the map.





Kobolds Infestation:
Victory condition:

- Gain enough territories and raise your Fame to obtain the title of King.

Special rules:

- Many Kobolds camp everywhere. Kobolds are more aggressive, respawn and expand quicker.
- For each decolonized Kobolds territory, earn 10 Fame .








As you progress through your Conquest, you'll get to choose specific favors to power up your clan and help you win the next challenge (applicable only to the Conquest game mode).



You can obtain these synergizing favors at the start of a Conquest!



And if you succeed in beating the entire Conquest of a Clan, you'll get a marvelous Town Hall skin related to it! You'll be able to use these skins in all modes:


Clan of the Bear / Boar


Clan of the Goat / Stag



Clan of the Dragon / Raven



Clan of the Snake / Kraken



Clan of the Horse / Wolf








As the biggest major update yet, Northgard Conquest also includes a variety of specific elements as special units, buildings, resources, events or maps. During challenges, you’ll need to exploit them as best you can to succeed!




Valdemar The Cursed
Valdemar was a Legendary King who died bringing battle to Helheim. He now wanders Northgard’s land to avoid death and reach Valhalla. He is usually surrounded by a group of Dark Vaettir who will not let you reach their King.

Unholy Ice Spirits that should not live on this side of Bifrost.




Undead Wyvern
A Frightening Beast, unnaturally turned into something even more terrifying.







Gemstones
Valued resources coveted by overseas merchants.







Gates of Niflheim
Ancient and mystic gates that bring Death from another time in Northgard every Winter…




Pillars of Glory
An ancient legacy for famous Kings. Assign Heralds to Pillars of Glory to earn Fame for your Clan.







Supply from Homeland


Boats coming from Homeland will frequently bring you new Villagers to reinforce your Clan.




Mercenary Raid


A mercenary ship could been spotted near your coasts. You must prepare!




Curse


Some of your units will be infected by a strange disease...

Northgard Conquest introduces new specific map configurations that you'll be able to explore during challenges, like The Inner Sea.



This brand new map configuration will host challenges that encourage you to establish the best strategy and exploit all the available resources to succeed and conquer.








In addition to the basic difficulty modes (Easy / Normal / Hard), Northgard Conquest has introduced most challenging difficulty yet: Extreme Mode.

This difficulty will do everything in its power to stop you from reaching the Throne and will make Northgard an incredibly hostile continent, more so than it ever was.

But if this difficulty isn't challenging enough for you... maybe we create an even more difficult one that will make Northgard a true nightmare for you!






The arrival of Northgard Conquest marks the beginning of a new Multiplayer Season: Conquer the region and ascend to the top of the leaderboard by taking the Throne on your own!












Bear Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Bear.

Boar Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Boar.

Dragonic Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Dragon.

Goat Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Goat.

Horse Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Horse.

Kraken Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Kraken.

Raven Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Raven.

Snake Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Snake.

Stag Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Stag.

Wolf Conqueror
  • Complete a Conquest with the Clan of the Wolf.








Emperor
  • Complete a Conquest on Hard Mode.

Sovereign
  • Complete a Conquest on Extreme Mode.








Domination
  • Complete at least 6 Conquests with different Clans.

Perfectionist
  • Complete a Conquest by winning all challenges.

  • Win each of the 30 different challenges at least once.














  • New in-game display system which allows you to easily see other players characteristics.



  • Blizzard, Rats Infestation, Earthquake, Draugr Invasion and Frozen Sea are now announced 3 months in advance instead of 6.
  • Changes in the ELO calculation to greatly discourage wintrading.
  • Wisdom Victory: No need for active units anymore.
  • Great Trade Routes will now be momentarily paused while the lighthouse is burning.
  • All events get their own icons in the calendar.
  • Kobolds power decreased a bit.



  • Fixed settings defaulting to french after each update.
  • Fixed an unlimited resource with multiple Trade Routes to exploit.
  • Fixed the Hightide FX not visible for the clients in multiplayer.
  • Fixed the unlocked tech count required for the blessings in campaign mode. The counter started at -1.
  • Typos and small stability fixes.
  • Fixed the Stone and Iron exchange rate with the Raven's homeland trade.
  • Fixed the display of a player's rank history in the leaderboard.
  • Fixed an old error in the ELO calculation. Two players of equivalent ranks should win/lose an equivalent number of points. Defeat should not have the player lose four times what the winner earned.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed militia to leave territory.
  • Scabbard of Gram lag improvements.
  • Fixed an issue that didn't allow kraken fishermen to fish on coasts.
  • Near the Sea Spirit: Totems were counted as buildings, while they were not supposed to.
  • There were some broken achievements, they're now fixed.
