Here’s a sneak peek at the Crystal Weapons DLC! Don’t forget that Early Access supporters will receive this and the Ascendent Edition automatically at launch. :)
Previous players will recognize the models for the crystal weapons: the hammer, the trident, and the glaive. But we’ve spent some time entirely re-working these weapons to make them something truly fearsome, and we think the end results are pretty cool!
Check out this sweet activation:
These weapons are forged from Edenic crystals, which store energy from your attacks. Build up enough and you can activate the crystals’ power to stagger your surrounding foes and give the weapon a huge buff!
You can get access to these awesome weapons for $7.49 US -- or buy the game while it’s still in Early Access to automatically receive them at launch!
We hope you enjoy Eden Rising. We launch on May 17th!
We are so happy and proud to announce that Eden Rising is going to launch on May 17th! This date marks the anniversary of our Early Access launch, and we feel Eden Rising is ready to take on a whole new journey!
We’re also very excited to announce that Eden Rising will launch with two versions:
The Explorer Edition, which is free-to-play. There are no microtransactions -- we really wanted to offer something cool and interesting for new players. The Explorer Edition lets you access 3 huge areas, the Explorer sieges, and an extended questline, as well as the usual gameplay.
The Ascendant Edition, which is the entire game for $24.99 US. This unlocks all areas, sieges, armor dyes, gear unlocks, and more.
Both versions are fully compatible! Players will be able to join up with friends no matter which version of the game they have. Explorer Edition players will also be able to enjoy Ascendant Edition features should they join an Ascendant Edition server. (Yes, that means only one friend needs to get the Ascendant Edition. ;) )
Of course, we would not be where we are today without our Early Access supporters. They will receive the Ascendant Edition, as well as the DLC (see below!), automatically, at launch. Thank you so much for talking with us, playing the game, and just generally being awesome.
Check out the Edition comparison below. Click for a larger image:
We’ll also be adding the new and improved Crystal Weapons Pack as DLC for $7.49 US. These mysterious crystals channel energy from the creatures of Eden during battle. Charge them up and then unleash their power! While powered-up, these weapons are extremely destructive and rend through even the toughest armor! In case you missed it, our Early Access supporters will also receive this pack automatically at launch. :)
Eden Rising has come a long way from when we first came out in Early Access a year ago. We released more than 14 updates, handling everything from bug fixes, improvements, new content, and more. Many of our features and updates were made directly because of you, our awesome players. Thank you for coming on this journey with us, and we hope you’re as excited as we are! We will continue making Eden Rising the best it can be. Expect some new and exciting things in the future!
It’s time for another update preview. Right now, the team is hard at work improving the chimera fight! He’s not quite ready for the limelight yet, but he’s confident enough for a sneak peek. ;)
This guy will finally get some TLC, so he can be the big-bad he was always meant to be! Brave warriors will know the chimera originally hails from the Shattered Causeway, but soon you can encounter him in the caves of the Fungal Preserve!
Our biggest goal with the new Chimera fight is to provide a kind of world boss. The community feedback about the cave gorgon was really positive, so we’ve applied the same kind of thinking as we approached this revamp.
Here are just some of his new abilities:
Spore Pools
The fungi on the Chimera’s back aren’t just for show! When feeling threatened, the Chimera’s fungi continually release spores, which quickly take root in the area and grow massive mushrooms. Watch out! These mushrooms will burst, dealing damage to any unsuspecting Warden who wandered too close.
Bone Circle
The Chimera roars, resonating with the remains of Eden’s extinct creatures. Bone spikes burst out of the ground to encircle him. Dodge back to avoid this deadly attack!
That’s all the spoilers for now. We hope he gives you a bit of a challenge in the next update. We can’t wait for you to meet him again!
The team has been hard at work tackling bugs and polishing up some of our features. They’re all included in the latest update. Eden Rising Shoe Shine & Fixes Update v0.4.3 is LIVE!
Some of the big highlights for the polish are:
New players will now have a bit more direction in the Valley to help them navigate and discover features.
Added additional controller mappings to the game! You can try them out by opening the options menu with a controller. Try it out!
We’ve updated the Myrmidon Legionnaire for a fairer fight (thanks for the feedback on this guy!). He now has more warning on his melee attack, and he uses a continuous spewing attack for ranged.
We’ve also adjusted a few weapons and turrets, as well as adding some quality of life improvements -- all the details are below.
Thank you for playing Eden Rising!

This update focuses on multiplayer features, as well as some bug fixes. Overall, we think this update makes playing Eden Rising even better for playing with friends and other Wardens!
PATCH NOTES v0.4.1
FEATURES
PICK-UP FRIENDLY MULTIPLAYER
New Main Menu Flow. To support pick-up players and reflect the latest changes to character data, we’ve updated the Main Menu flow. Choose which world and character to play with, or if you’re joining another player, choose your character. See below for information about old multiplayer saves!
Added a World List, both in-game and on the main menu. This list shows you other players’ worlds and activities. Choose the one you want to join for pick-up play! The session key still exists for those who want to keep their world closed, but invite their friends to play.
Your world can be either Closed (only allows friends and session key people to join) or Open (allowing anyone to join). We’ve also added a few server protections (see rest of patch notes).
Host activity will also display in the World List, either “Hunting” or “Sieging.”
Multiplayer Rewards -- we’ve made changes to several features to make multiplayer rewarding, including: resource deposit, Nanochips as grindable, personal currency, and earning Monster Cores. See below for the breakdown!
What about my multiplayer saves? They aren’t gone! But you are now restricted to 3 world/character saves. If you want those to be from your multiplayer saves, we’ve written up how to move those at the bottom of this post. Of course, we’re on Discord or the Steam forums if you need help!
RESOURCE DEPOSIT
As promised, you can now deposit resources and materials to invest in blueprints. Since you can’t take resources with you from other servers, be sure to deposit them into your blueprints before leaving a multiplayer world!
When leaving a multiplayer world, players will be warned to invest their resources before disconnecting.
NANOCHIP & TECH PURCHASING REVAMP
Nanochips are now a personal currency! This change required us to remove Nanochips from the server, therefore we are awarding 1000 Nanochips to the world host on their first login.
Earn Nanochips by completing Sieges, even when visiting other worlds! Nanochips are now grindable from Sieges. Earn them and bring them back to your world to progress your game. Remember, the higher the difficulty, the better the reward!
Nanchips can now be deposited into tech, just like investing in gear.
WORLD PROTECTIONS
Hosts now have access to protections for their world’s Global Storage and Crucible Tech/Upgrades.
Global Storage protections affect other players’ access to withdrawing or crafting from Global Storage.
Crucible Tech/Upgrades protections affect other players’ access to purchasing or unlocking.
Protection options are: Friends and Promoted Only (default), Host Only, Promoted Only, and Everyone. Be sure to choose the option you’re most comfortable with!
NEW GEAR: MONSTER CORES
Earn new gear by earning Mastery XP in the Bestiary! Monster Cores can now be equipped to improve your character’s stats.
Three Monster Core slots have been added to the character screen. Equip one core of each type: red, blue, and green.
Get bonus Mastery XP when playing multiplayer!
MISC.
Continued tweaking ranged weapons and adding VFX.
FIXES AND ADJUSTMENTS
Fixed an issue where, in the siege menu, there were no differences in the number of monsters between the Group and Tribe difficulty.
Fixed an issue where upon beating an Outpost Siege, it wouldn’t show its subsequent timer anymore.

Equipment unlocks have been moved to a new Forge Equipment screen in the menus, accessible at any time.
Find outposts and unlock new equipment trees! Pay resources to permanently unlock and have access to any part of that equipment tree.
Any equipment PREVIOUSLY crafted on the server under the old system will automatically be granted to players on that server in their unlocks.
Dyes have been temporarily disabled. They will return in the next patch.
Gloves temporarily only have extraction abilities.
CAMERA CONTROLS UPDATE
The camera can now be moved independently from character facing. Move the camera around as you like!

Defense variations! Added additional turret upgrades and effects for greater strategy variety.

Null Batons once again increase their damage as you apply stacks.
Hammer damage has been significantly increased.
ONGOING RANGED REVAMP
Ranged weapons have received some love! We’ll be continuing improvements on these in the next few updates. Ranged weapons now offer fire-at-the-hip, shotgun-style regular attacks. Enter "Aim Mode" to hit targets from afar and deal extra damage to monsters with exposed weakspots.
To go with this update, we've added a ton of new ranged weapon variations and upgrades!
DIFFICULTY UPDATES
Updated difficulty selections! In the server admin panel, choose between Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulties. Normal is the default difficulty for new games.
When selecting sieges, choose additional difficulty for the siege!
Choosing harder difficulties whenever available will give additional rewards!

It's been a great year for the team, and we wouldn't be where we are without you. You’ve done so much for the game, giving us constructive feedback and simply helping to improve the work we do. We hope you're having safe and happy holidays!

Winter is (almost) here! And to celebrate, Eden Rising is a part of the current Steam Winter Sale! From the 20th of December to the 3rd of January, buy Eden Rising at 25% off!
This is our last sale of the year, and a great chance to pick up the game to play with friends over the holidays!
The team is currently working really hard on the next update. Here’s a little preview of some important upcoming features!
Equipment Unlock Update
Probably one of our biggest feature updates yet! This is a very important change to how equipment is unlocked in Eden Rising. Essentially, the equipment (armor, gloves, and weapons) is now tied to your character.
This means:
Equipment is now an unlock on your character. Once you unlock a weapon upgrade you have it forever on that character! Unlock the entire tree!
Equipment still costs resources to unlock, and some equipment types must be unlocked by completing outposts in the world.
Equipment unlocks are now in your menu screens (since they are tied to character progression), and Crucible tech is now accessed at the camp with the in-world station.
Why did we do this?
In short, it’s so you can take your equipment with you to other servers!
But you can’t take your inventory. We will implement a partial-spend feature in the near future, so when you visit other servers you can invest in your gear before leaving.
Will I still have the weapons/gear/etc that I’ve already crafted?
Yes! When you log in after the update, any gear crafted on that server, by anyone, will be automatically granted to your character. But we are temporarily disabling equipment dyes and extra glove functionalities.
This is a big feature update in preparation for better multiplayer options!
HUD Revamp
We’ve also updated the HUD and basic controls of the game! This is important because it helps us prepare for controller support (which is coming along, but still in progress).
We’ve streamlined the controls for combat. Here’s a quick rundown of the controls now:
There will no longer be quickslots! By this, we mean the 1-2-3-4 bar at the bottom of the screen. There are now only 2 distinct modes: combat and building defenses.
Combat mode is the default, and all your regular attack controls are the same! The biggest change here is that consumables are now on a hotkey and so is your glove! We think this makes for a better, slicker combat experience.
Press a button to switch to build mode to place turrets and traps. These will now be directly in front of you for placement instead of moving around with the camera -- a necessary change for getting ready for controllers!
You can still quick-swap weapons. :)
This is a big update for us, and it’s a lot of preparatory work that will really improve the game experience. We hope you enjoy it!
