It's great to see you all, gathered around the hearth of our humble Setting Sun Inn. Word has it that the brave Bergson family continues their journey along the Children of Morta development roadmap with the addition of the New Game+ Update. This free update includes - you've guessed it - New Game+ content with tons of additional lore in stunning new cutscenes and quests. So, don't be shy, join the family for another round - it’s on the house!

We are super excited to deliver the second free content update from our Development Roadmap. As you could expect, the New Game+ Mode encourages you to follow the Bergson’s journey again, this time with an increase in difficulty, character skill point caps, and upgrades in both Ben’s workshop and Margaret’s lab.

We have also enriched the lore of the game with more than 50 new cutscenes, home events, and activities. We believe these additional pieces of story will strengthen your bond to the Bergson family and the wondrous world of Rea. In addition to the New Game+ content, new family-related quests have been added to the dungeons and will appear during the first playthrough as well. The update is available on all platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.



General list of changes that we've introduced in the Setting Sun Inn Update:
  • New Game Plus mode where players keep previously unlocked characters, skill tree progress, resources, Ben’s workshop and Book of Rea upgrades, all while playing through even more challenging content
  • 20 new cutscenes
  • 8 new Home Interactive Events to liven up the Bergson family home
  • 26 new Home Idle Activities to keep the Bergsons occupied
  • 14 new Family Events and Quests in the Dungeons
  • 3 new Side Quest Traits
  • Balance changes and bug fixes
If you are looking for even more details about the new content, you want to learn all the balance tweaks, all the cutscenes, you can find the full list below. However - it may include some very minor spoilers, and we know that some of you are very sensitive about that - that's why we decided not to share it in the list of the main features.

Detailed list of Setting Sun Inn Update changes:
Added New Game Plus mode:
  • After completing the game, players can convert their completed save slot to NG+ slot in save slot menu
  • New Game Plus slots will have “+” icon and slightly different highlight effect
In the NG+ mode, players can play Children of Morta's story from scratch.
    By doing so, they will lose:
  • Unlocked areas and dungeons.
  • All quests progress.

    They will keep:
  • Unlocked characters.
  • Character skill tree progress.
  • All resources
  • Ben's workshop upgrades.
  • Book of Rea upgrades.

    The following changes also apply:
  • Noticeable increase in the game’s difficulty.
  • Character skill points cap increased.
  • Level cap of upgrades of Ben's workshop increased.
  • Level cap of upgrades of Book of Rea increased.
New Save Slot Menu - Save Slot menu now have slot setting button and a sub-menu for each slot with new features:
  • Convert to New Game Plus for completed saves

  • Players interaction with shrines and golden chests now can transition to evading to make it more responsive
  • Tree of Rea Luck upgrade nerfed
  • Tree of Rea Divine Mastery upgrade nerfed
  • Divine Performer gold bonus 2x -> 2.5x
  • Swift Shanks MoveSpeed also apply to Sheathed
  • GemStone Hungry max stack reduced from 20 to 15
  • Pulsating Orb cooldown decreased from 30 to 20
  • Totem of Defiance Pushback speed increased
  • Spiral of Doom Damage Reduce 1.5 -> 1 cooldown increased
  • Divine Shield damage reduced 1 -> 0.6 cooldown increased
  • Stone Hide duration 10 -> 8
Other changes:
  • Added the ability to reset the Corruption effect of a character with Mysterious Egg.
  • Lots of smaller bug fixes and other balance tweaks to make the game smoother.
  • Perfectionist Achievement has been fixed on PlayStation 4!

It is time to give you the first piece from a series of upcoming free content updates!

The Bergson family fought the Corruption without a glimpse of respite but their journey is far from over. Shrine of Challenge marks the first stop at a new, exciting branch in the story. The addition of Hard Mode will provide a greater challenge, and experience rewards, even to players already toughened by hundreds of battles. Along with new fight rules and enemies, all-new items come to help the fearless heroes purge their homeland of evil.

Shrine of Challenge update contains:
  • Hard Mode with increased enemies damage and health, and bigger XP rewards
  • New Enemies: Dark Blade and Mech Constructor
  • New UI with larger HUD option
  • 18 new Items granting boulders falling from the sky, bolts emanating from the players among many others
  • Balance tweaks for Normal Mode and other fixes (find full list in the Patch Notes on Steam Discussions)

The Bergson’s fight against the Corruption continues in 2020! We are super excited to offer you, Children of Morta family, even more content for the game! As you have come to expect (and appreciate), the majority of new content coming to Children of Morta will be available free of charge to those who own the game with only the Uncharted Lands being released as paid expansion. Let’s take a closer look at the Roadmap!

Here's the full list of upcoming content updates:
  1. Shrine of Challenge introduces hard difficulty and an item pack with more than 20 new items including Charms, Divine Graces and Divine Relics.
  2. Setting Sun Inn invites you to New Game+ mode in which players carry their unlocked characters, skill tree, Morv, and Workshop Upgrades into a new playthrough after completing the game.
  3. Random Encounter means what it says and says what it means - you’ll never know what you might find here!
  4. In the Bergsons’ House a new playable character awaits.
  5. The Fellowship Sanctuary adds the much anticipated online co-op to the game.
  6. Temple of the Endless contains a series of arenas with waves of enemies, mini-bosses, and a new boss. This Endless Mode fully supports online co-op.
  7. The Treasure update will contain more than 30 new items including Charms, Divine Graces and Divine Relics.
  8. All this should prepare you for The Uncharted Lands. The next journey for the Bergson family will be a brand new DLC chapter with the main quest and a home event, another playable hero, new enemies, and a new boss.

It's too early for us to confirm any specific dates - we want to be sure that the content we're releasing is polished and as bug-free as possible. We're going to reveal the date (and share more details!) for each update closer to its release.

We have some super exciting news for you!

We are proud to team up once again with the developers of Moonlighter and take on an ambitious project from Fool’s Theory! Both projects -- in various stages of development with further details coming in 2020 and beyond -- are bigger in scope than anything 11 bit has previously published.

“We’re still an extremely picky publisher. We’re probably even pickier than we were before if you can believe it! Our job is to hand-pick true gems and put our best efforts in with the development teams to help make them shine. We believe in boosting unique projects and using all the marketing magic we have to see them succeed. Right now, we’ve got two projects we’re really proud to have under our wing,” - Pawel Feldman, Publishing Director at 11 bit studios.



Details are sparse right now (gotta save all that marketing magic for later), but we can reveal the following:
  • We are beyond thrilled to be teaming up with Poland-based Fool’s Theory for their latest project, codenamed Vitriol. The studio behind the artfully created stealth title, Seven: The Days Long Gone, is developing a game best described as a meaningful RPG. Jakub Rokosz, CEO at Fool’s Theory says, “We are truly happy to align with 11 bit studios. They’re known for their ability to find the unique spirit in a game and I believe our upcoming title fits impeccably with the type of projects they like to work on.”
  • You might also say that we are ‘over the Moon(lighter)’ to be teaming up once more with Digital Sun Games. There’s nothing to divulge just yet, but rest assured that the hard-working Spanish developer is putting the same care and attention into their new project (codename Foxhole) as they did with their critically acclaimed indie hit, Moonlighter, but this time it’s a totally new IP. “We badly wanted to work with these guys again. As a team, we feel 11 bit did a great job with Moonlighter and we both want to do even better things together. It’s really as simple as that, ” says Javier Gimenez, CEO at Digital Sun Games.

We know you can't wait for the online co-op to be added to Children of Morta! We're working on it along with other updates, worry not. But in the meantime, Steam has launched an awesome functionality called Remote Play Together. It lets you play local multiplayer games with Steam Friends online, EVEN when the game doesn't natively support online play. Thanks to this and to your amazing, ongoing support and feedback, we've managed to fix a large number of issues that some of you might have encountered while playing Children of Morta. We hope that this patch will make your playthroughs smoother and even more enjoyable than before. Find the detailed list of changes below.

Important NOTICE: This update will reset players' current key rebindings.

GENERAL FIXES:
  • Fixed unachieved Souvenirs of completed quest not spawning in dungeons to collect.
  • Fixed Ben’s false exclamation mark in broken cart event.
  • Fixed broken control by dying at completion of Water Purifier pump quest.
  • Fixed fail narration of Water Purifier pump quest plays when activating 2nd switch.
  • Fixed game getting frozen by skipping custom narrative fireplace cutscenes and returning to title screen afterward.
  • Fixed getting stuck in the Unchaining Slaves event if the Assassin enemy teleports out of the event room.
  • Fixed Area 30 Boss becomes invulnerable sometimes.
  • Fixed champion powers spawn in landscapes and middle of magical doors.
  • Fixed skeleton riser’s skeletons spawn in landscapes and special rooms.
  • Fixed Area 30 Boss’s hands dropping loots.
  • Fixed all boss unnatural behavior against movement modifiers(i.e. Vortex divine relic against Ruins boss when he’s underground).

  • Fixed a bug where explosive mushrooms could not reactivate after getting hit by an enemy projectile.

  • Fixed Rune Knowledge getting unlock in Desert sometimes without finding Rea room.
  • Fixed Electric Shock Divine Relic’s damaging area remained in next floor.
  • Fixed Forest end cutscene visuals cut out.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to purchase charms from a special angle from shop for free
  • Fixed issue with Mark stuck behind the steampowered vehicle
  • Fixing Wind Journal rooms physics (stucking between objects).
FIXES FOR MAC:
  • Fixed videos not playing on some mac machines

    3. Rage mode now increase primary attack speed
