The Elder Scrolls® Online

Bethesda announced today that the ancestral home of Tamriel's Altmer—the High Elves—will be the setting of the next Elder Scrolls Online expansion, Summerset. The expansion will conclude the story that began in 2015 with the Orsinium DLC, and will add a new zone, the Psijic Order faction and skillset, a new jewelry crafting skill, and new Delves, Bosses, and a 12-player Trial called Cloudrest.

Summerset is a lush, lovely place, "but trouble is hiding in the shadows, and corruption threatens to destroy High Elf society from within," Bethesda said. That may be why Queen Ayrenn has opened the borders to outsiders for the first time in Altmeri history, and also why she's not actually living there right now. Instead, her cousin, Alwinarwe, rules as regent, aided by Khajit spy Razum-dar, Valsirenn of the Psijic Order, and Alchemy, a performer in the House of Reveries.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset will go live on PC on May 21, and is available for pre-purchase now in multiple editions, including a swanky physical release that comes with a statue of the Daedric Prince Mephala. Pre-purchasing will also net you the Queen's Bounty Pack, with the Court of Bedlam costume, a Pocket Salamander pet, treasure maps, a Psijic Vault Crown crate, and experience boosters, plus a digital copy of the Morrowind DLC and the Nightmare Senche mount. Full details are available at elderscrollsonline.com

The Elder Scrolls® Online

The Elder Scrolls Online's next big expansion takes place in the Summerset Isle, Bethesda has announced.

The Isle of Summerset, home of the High Elves, was an explorable area in 1994's The Elder Scrolls: Arena, but has only been mentioned in Elder Scrolls games since.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset includes a new zone, a new story, a new skill line based on the Psijiic Order and the introduction of jewelry crafting. It comes out on 5th June for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Dragon Bones DLC Game Pack
With the Dragon Bones DLC game pack, you will be able to explore two all-new four-player dungeons.

Scalecaller Peak

Zaan the Scalecaller has returned with a new patron, the Daedric Prince of Pestilence, Peryite. With her new master's help, she threatens to unleash a deadly new plague upon all of Tamriel. You must enter the long-abandoned temple of Scalecaller, battle your way through plague-twisted monsters and cultists, face the resurrected Dragon Priest, and put a stop to her vile plans.

Fang Lair

The lost Dwarven ruins of Fang Lair were once the final resting place of the mighty dragon Thurvokun. Now, it is inhabited by a dangerous Necromancer cult and their monstrous creations. However, the Blackmarrow Cult wants more than lost treasure: they aim to reanimate the bones of the long-dead Dragon himself! Make your way through the lost site and stop the powerful Necromancer Orryn the Black before he can bring his terrible new weapon to bear on the people of Tamriel.

Both of these new dungeons can be completed in normal or veteran difficulties and contain a veteran hard mode option for those groups who truly want to be challenged. Each dungeon has its own unique rewards, too, including new gear sets, monster sets, achievements, costumes and skins, and, of course, trophies.

Purchase Details
The Dragon Bones DLC game pack is completely free to ESO Plus members or available for purchase for 1500 crowns from the in-game Crown Store. To buy the pack, navigate to the in-game Crown Store and find it in the DLC section.

Note that if your ESO Plus membership lapses, you will lose access to the DLC game pack until it is renewed or purchased with crowns. You will not lose any items or rewards you earned while you had access. ESO: Morrowind is not required in order to purchase and enjoy the Dragon Bones DLC game pack.

Dragon Bones Collector's Bundle

In addition to the DLC game pack, the Dragon Bones Collector's Bundle is available for 4000 crowns from the in-game Crown Store.

This bundle includes the DLC game pack, the Fang Lair Courser mount, the Small Bone Dragon Construct pet, and five Crown Experience Scrolls. You can find and purchase the Dragon Bones Collector's Bundle in the Featured section of the Crown Store.

Explore New Dungeons & Earn a Free Hat
Once you have access to the Dragon Bones DLC game pack, you can delve into Fang Lair or Scalecaller Peak by the following methods:
  • By teleporting directly to the two new dungeons from your map
  • By using the Dungeon Finder tool
  • By walking up to the dungeons and clicking on the entrance in Bangkorai (Fang Lair) and in Stormhaven (Scalecaller Peak)
Are you inspired by the venerable Dragon Priests of legend? You can dress like the ancient stewards of the dragons with the Renegade Dragon Priest Mask. Update 17 For All
The Update 17 base-game patch will also arrive alongside the Dragon Bones DLC game pack as a free update for all ESO players. This update contains a host of amazing new features and improvements to The Elder Scrolls Online that everybody can enjoy.

Outfit System

Be who you want to be with the new Outfit System! Now, you can completely customize almost every aspect of your appearance with unique Outfits, regardless of the gear you are wearing. You will have one free Outfit that you can customize at a cost of gold, but should you wish, you can purchase additional Outfits and Outfit Change Tokens (allowing you to save gold) from the in-game Crown Store. To begin customizing your Outfit, locate a new Outfit Station (previously known as Dye Stations).

Check out our Outfit System Basics Guide for everything you need to know!

Home Storage

With Update 17, we are also introducing a new home furnishings type: storage containers. With storage containers, you can finally store bankable items in your own homes, freeing up space from your bank, inventory, or craft bag. You can earn the first of these by leveling a character to level 18 and receiving it as a level-up reward, but there are seven additional containers you can acquire from in-game vendors and the Crown Store.

You can learn more about Home Storage in this feature article.

New Level-Up Experience

In order to help players better understand the game and how to develop their characters, we've introduced a new level-up experience. Now, when you level up in The Elder Scrolls Online, you'll receive unique rewards and helpful gameplay tips to help you on your adventures. In addition to this, we've created a new Skills Advisor tool that you can use to help pick your character's skills and abilities based on a desired archetype.

You can find out more about this new system in our feature article.

Combat Improvements

In addition to the new features above, we've made some dramatic changes to ESO's combat system. These changes include improvements to Synergies, the removal of area-of-effect caps, changes to block costs, changes to cast-time abilities and interrupts, and changes to how Heavy Attacks and the Off Balance mechanic work.

These changes are designed to make combat in ESO even more responsive, tactical, and skillful, and you can learn more about them in our feature article.

New PvP Battlegrounds For You To Conquer
Update 17 will also arrive with two brand-new PvP Battlegrounds. These new arenas will test you and your PvP team in new and different ways.

Mor Khazgur

This Orc stronghold has seen more than its fair share of conflict over the ages, but thanks to its precarious ledges and limited visibility, it is now the perfect arena for 4v4v4 battles.

Deeping Drome

Set deep beneath Tamriel, this cavernous arena is illuminated by the glow of the surrounding mushrooms, lighting your way through its tight corners and winding pathways.

You and your allies can access both Battlegrounds via the regular Grab Bag Battlegrounds queue in your Group & Activity Finder. Note that you must have ESO: Morrowind installed in order to participate in Battlegrounds matches.
