As you can see, we’re back from holidays and ready to roll! This year, however, we’re focusing on bigger updates, like the new UI update from December. To be more specific, right now we’re working on a brand new skill tree system that will replace the current one. This new system should simplify things both for new players and veterans, giving them more clear and substantial skills options. So, you’ll probably no longer see one update every week, but rest assured we’re still working very hard to make Ballistic Overkill the best game for you! Also, we’re still very active around both Aquiris, Steam forums and social media, so keep sending us bug reports, suggestions and general feedback, it helps a lot!

As we bring you this last update of 2015, we’d like to go back and think about how exciting this year has been for all of us here at Aquiris Game Studio. We’re really happy with how things are coming along with Ballistic Overkill and we want to thank you all for your support, enthusiasm and feedback during these first 3 months of Early Access development.

We accomplished our main goals for this year, having implemented the Dedicated Servers feature and part of the New UI in the game, but we still have a lot of ground to cover in 2016. Our plans are to tackle classes, skill tree rework and a new HUD early next year, so stay tuned to our Trello boards and forums!

Thank you for all the quick feedback we received after this major update. We made some extra effort this weekend to make the game stable again and fix serious issues in the last build.

Everyone should be able to play without so many crashes:

- Improved overall stability. Play several matches in a row should not be a problem anymore.

- Fixed resolution problems. If you had performance issues in the last build, you can now decrease your fullscreen resolution and the interface will remain in place.

- MacOS version is also a lot more stable. Mac users can join the fight once again!

We will keep testing to make sure everything run smoothly this time. Thank you for the support!

We're super excited to release this massive update for you guys. As of today, you'll be tasting a little more of the Ballistic Overkill we're building with you for the future.

Packed with the awesome new UI, we're giving you a all new soundtrack. If you love it as we do, rest assured that there's more coming!

Note that this release is only affecting the UI outside the game. We're working on a really awesome new HUD and in-game screens for you guys. I'll share more on that soon!

Alongside the new UI, we're also releasing two new maps: Hakim Library and Blackfield Hospital. Both are super cool to play in and full of new grounds for you to discover.

If that wasn't good enough for a holiday gift, we're also implementing some performance optimization changes we did in the game! Overkill should run as smoothly as ever on your gaming machines. Remember to keep us informed and keep the feedback coming!

Last, but certanly not least, some balance tweaks! Check them out:

Sidearms
  • All Sidearms rate of fire decreased and damage increased (except Bonebreaker and Hydra)
  • Persuader damage increased slightly
  • Hydra clip size and reserve ammo increased
Grenade
  • Damage and range increased

Hello everyone!

Our team is glad to announce that as of today we are implementing dedicated servers in the game! You'll be able to create and host your own servers, with customizable settings. Such as Server Name and Maximum Player Capacity. Also, you can upload a custom banner to your server that will be displayed in the loading screen. That way the community will know your server or even your clan's server :)

We'll be posting a tutorial on the forums on how to setup your dedicated server. If you should have any questions, please ask us in the thread.
