The Sd.Kfz.251/10 was a later variant of the well-known and widely used German WWII halftrack, equipped with a 3.7cm anti-tank cannon for increased firepower. Tankers will have the chance to add this special version of the Sd.Kfz.251 to their in-game arsenal by taking part in the upcoming crafting event “Strategist” in War Thunder!
The Sd.Kfz.251/10 will be one of the prizes awaiting tankers who take part in the upcoming crafting event “Strategist”, starting soon in War Thunder. This infantry support version of the widely used German halftrack will mostly be seen in lower rank battles, where its decent mobility and quick-firing 37 mm anti-tank cannon are sure to cause some damage to the enemy lines.
However, while the Sd.Kfz.251/10 is well-protected against small arms fire and sharpnel with up to 14.5 mm of armor plating, it still remains vulnerable against dedicated anti-tank cannons as well as artillery fire and aircraft due to its open fighting compartment. Circumventing these drawbacks by simply changing positions frequently however will be more than enough to turn a seemingly harmless APC into a deadly low rank tank destroyer with some nifty premium bonuses!
Be sure to add the Sd.Kfz.251/10 to your collection of German armored fighting vehicles in War Thunder by taking part in the upcoming crafting event “Strategist”. Stay tuned to find out more and good hunting tankers!
The new French Starter Pack includes a premium B1 ter tank and a P-40F-5 Lafayette fighter, which, along with an ample amount of Silver Lions and Premium Account days, will ensure confident victories and rapid development in the early ranks of War Thunder!
The BI is an experimental Soviet rocket-powered aircraft, designed during WWII and envisioned to become a short-range defensive interceptor. Pilots in War Thunder will have the chance to further harness the power of rocket-propelled flight by obtaining the BI as one of the top prizes for participating in the upcoming crafting event “Strategist”!
The BI is a high rank Soviet rocket-powered interceptor and one of the more exotic prizes for the upcoming crafting event “Strategist” in War Thunder. Giving Soviet pilots also the chance to experience rocket-propelled flight, the BI functions on the same principles as the Me 163 and Ki-200 already familiar to many pilots. The aircraft’s rocket propulsion allows it to get into the action fast, thanks to high acceleration, top speed and climb rate, but at the same time, prevents it from lingering in combat for too long due to its limited fuel supply of just 2 minutes on WEP mode. As a result, the BI requires clever fuel management to extend its combat endurance.
Further emphasizing the BI’s “hit-’n’-run” nature are its weapons. Namely, the BI is armed with a punchy pair of 20mm ShVAK cannons, although only carrying 45 rounds of ammunition each. This means that pilots will need to make the most out of the limited combat time they have available to ensure no bullet goes to waste!
Be sure to add this highly unusual and unique aircraft to your in-game collection by taking part in the upcoming War Thunder event. Good hunting pilots!

The protection parameters of the US and Soviet main battle tanks have been changed (open chart).
Changes to protection parameters of the American and Soviet MBTs:
In the recently published changelog for the “Raining Fire” update, a few mistakes were made in the protection parameters of Soviet MBTs, while those parameters in the game were mostly set correctly. We have corrected these issues, and now present the latest protection values. In addition, the protection parameters on the M1 Abrams series of tanks have been adjusted.
For turrets of Soviet MBT’s, the protection values in the sector of course angles ± 30° from the vehicle axis are used; this means that when a tank gets hit from these angles, protection is provided at a minimum as indicated. In the case of hitting from a course angle of 0°, the protection might be noticeably higher than that indicated and strongly depends on the point of impact on the turret.
For tanks of the M1 series, the protection is indicated separately for the left and right sides of the turret due to their different inclination angles. It is assumed that, structurally, the turret ‘cheeks’ and lower frontal hull armor plate represent the same obstacle, installed at different angles. Because of this, the equivalent protection of the lower front plate is set slightly higher than that indicated for M1A2 in the publication “Stridsfordon idag och imorgon. Ett föredrag om Svenskt Pansar med utgångspunkt i historien”.
These changes are not final and may be clarified and revised further in case of new documentary sources.

80 years ago, from June until October of 1940, probably the most famous aerial battles in history took place known as the Battle of Britain. The Royal Air Force claimed victory in the skies, holding back the German Luftwaffe and preventing a naval invasion by denying air superiority over the Luftwaffe. Months of huge aerial engagements, intense dogfighting and fierce clashes forever sealed the event as a significant chapter in the second world war.
Brave contributions from all over the world, including most famously Polish and Czech pilots joined the fight to take on an overwhelming force that had swept through most of Europe and surrounded Great Britain. Pilots fought relentlessly, often without much rest between battles, with the fate of Britain sitting almost entirely on their shoulders. This event forever immortalized ny Winston Churchill’s famous words describing those that took part with “never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few”.
Today, we mark this historic 80 year anniversary in War Thunder

All shells in the game - ground vehicle, aircraft and naval - will now have their own volume. Learn more about damage model improvements brought to you in the recent update.
Hello!
In addition to new vehicles, a new location and numerous fixes and improvements, in the War Thunder: Raining Fire update we are introducing “volumetric” shells - a very important feature for all game modes. Previously, shells in our game did not have their own volume. In fact, each projectile fired was a material point that reacted with the ballistics of its real life prototype, and upon contact with the enemy, a complex multi-vector simulation of the interaction of the projectile at the point of impact, say, with the point of armor on an enemy tank took place. In this case, the point-shaped projectile in some cases could inflict penetration or damage where a real projectile was not able to fit in reality - for example, a ricochet and flight under the turret ring area, slaughtering all crew members and modules in its path.
We decided to fix this. In the "Raining Fire" update, all shells in the game, from 15mm calibre or more, are now simulated by several rays at once, which indicate the real dimensions of the shell for a more reliable calculation of damage - on armor, in it, and behind it. Large calibre projectiles are additionally modeled with two ray circles. Now the projectile cannot penetrate where it cannot physically fit. The changes affected all ground, sea and air vehicles in the game, both player-controlled and AI vehicles, including AA guns.
Now you are able to more precisely simulate the most diverse scenarios of damage from any shells in the game - we have added functionality for protection analysis not only for tanks, but also for aviation. Welcome to the War Thunder: Raining Fire update! Our favorite game just got better!
