In the next Open Beta for the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet, we will be including the Track While Scan (TWS) acquisition radar mode. This is a powerful mode to create situational awareness, engage multiple targets at the same time with the AIM-120 AMRAAM, and break-out targets in close formation. It also integrates with the data link and IFF systems.
Important commands:
Undesignate button [S] = cycle L&S, swap L&S and DT2, and TDC designate [ENTER] = set L&S or DT2, set AUTO/BIAS center
A new element being added to the DCS: F-16C Viper is wing flex and twisting. This provides a much more dynamic and interesting behavior to the wing as you takeoff, maneuver and pull high-Gs, fly low and fast in turbulence, and even release heavy ordnance. This is the next large element that we are adding to the external model of the Viper. Following this, we are aiming to complete the texture template, improve the afterburner effects and create several more skins.
Polychop Announces the OH-58D Kiowa for DCS World
Here is a small excerpt from the Polychop Simulations announcement, you can read the full announcement on our forums here.
Dear community, It has been a few months since we first publicly announced that we are working on the OH-58D Kiowa for DCS World.
For the past two years, we have been working on the Bell OH-58D Kiowa Warrior. Back then we were not yet certain what flight simulator software we’d be building the OH-58D for but at some point, we decided (again) on DCS world.
During the past 2 years, we have been talking to a lot of individuals including people from Bell Textron, Eagle Dynamics and the US Army Cavalry community.
Bell Textron granted us a product-specific license for the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior for commercial use, which means we were given permission to recreate the helicopter for game or entertainment purposes. Without this license, a module for the DCS World environment would not be possible.
With the license also comes a responsibility. Anything related to the product will be subject to demanding quality control procedures. We recognize this as an opportunity and a benefit for the community, the simulation of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior in DCS World and ourselves as a developing company. The license also grants us access to certain information otherwise not available to the public. Without it, it would simply be impossible to create a lifelike representation of the aircraft.
With the manufacturer’s license secured, we got in contact with Eagle Dynamics to discuss with them the plans we had for our next module. This started a long period in which possible contracts were negotiated. Negotiations like these are complex, especially when it involves a third party, in this case, Bell Textron. In the end, all parties have to agree to the terms and conditions.
In October 2019, a day before the Cosford Flight Sim Show, we got the green light from Eagle Dynamics to announce the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior as a possible DCS World module. Even though the contract had not been finalized, at that point we were at a stage in negotiations where it was very plausible all parties involved would come to an agreement.
Today we can announce that all contracts have been signed and finalized. The OH-58D Kiowa Warrior will be released as a DCS World module. We can’t reveal a release date yet. We’ve set our sights on a release in 2020 though.
Overall we are happy that we have the opportunity to bring such an iconic helicopter, a workhorse of its kind, to DCS World and have her live on in our community. We also want to thank Eagle Dynamics, Nick Grey and Matthias Techmanski for all the support and the trust they have in our team, that we will be able to properly produce this magnificent helicopter, which was the first to ever have a glass cockpit worldwide.
Now the big question, when will the community hear more news or see new streams or videos about the Kiowa. We are currently planning to have a scheduled stream with a few people available. What, when and who will be discussed and announced in a few days. So stay tuned.
For now, the whole team wishes all the best and everybody a Merry Christmas 2019 Your Polychop Team

Damage Model - As we enter the home stretch on the new Damage Model for WWII Fighters, we are working hard to create and tune new effects for all aspects. We are excited to show you how they are looking so far, and how they will look even more incredible when you finally see it for yourself.
JF-17 is a single-seat, single-engine, multirole light fighter that jointly developed by AVIC Chengdu and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC). The design phase of JF-17 "Thunder" finished on May 31st, 2002, and the maiden flight was made on August 25th, 2003. The first plane delivered to PAF (Pakistan Air Force) in 2007. Currently, several different blocks of JF-17s are in service in Pakistan and Myanmar air forces. There are also several countries interested in purchasing this fighter jet. On February 27th, 2019, "Thunder" has withstood the test of actual combat and helped PAF win an appreciable victory.
"Thunder" is a type of fighter that specifically tailored for PAF. The development plan of her predecessor can even be traced back to 1985. At first, PAF was only looking for a fighter that can replace Shenyang J-6 (Chinese version of Mig-19), but they were not satisfied with Chengdu’s J-7M. After more than 20 years of development, the final product "Thunder" becomes completely different from J-7M.
"Thunder" has a bubble canopy of great view, pretty strake-wing layout and advanced avionics. KLJ-7 radar provides excellent air to ground capability. WMD-7 targeting pod can help "Thunder" searching for targets in combat. Although "Thunder" has small size, remember that: she is one of the most advanced fighter jets in the DCS World.
Key features of the DCS: JF-17 "Thunder" include:
Nonlinear industry-level high fidelity 6DOF rigid-body flight model with real-life aerodynamic coefficients
Line-by-line recreated real-life full authority longitudinal fly-by-wire system and lateral/directional control augmentation system with various modes and control law reconstruction on malfunction.
Highly detailed aircraft exterior model: skin winkle, faded paint, oil residue and other details; even the position of each rivet is faithfully restored.
A highly-detailed 6DOF cockpit. Three massive MFCDs with advanced HOTAS interface help you master the plane, as well as the battlefield.
Accurately simulated sub-systems: communication and navigation systems, fire control systems, store management system, electro-mechanical management systems, air data system, DTC card, warning system, defense system, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, electrical system, environment conditioning system, oxygen system, external/cockpit light system, power plant control system, zeroizer system, eject seat system, and g-suit etc.
Detailed malfunction/failure simulation: the module has over 200 system malfunctions and more than 100 damage partitions covering near 100 onboard devices; mutual malfunction effects between systems are also simulated.
KLJ-7 radar can track 10 targets and attack 2 targets at the same time. KLJ-7 can also search/track surface (ground and sea) moving targets.
Advanced stand-off attack capability: including LS-6 and GB-6 glide bombs, C-802AK anti-ship missile and CM-802AKG Man-In-the-Loop (MITL) missile.
WMD-7 targeting pod can be used to search/track surface targets, identify air targets and provide guidance for laser-guided weapons.
Advanced electronic warfare system: including chaff/flare dispense systems (OESP), KG-600 self-protect jamming pod that can locate radiation source and missile approach warning system (MAWS) installed on the tail.
On-board datalink supports battlefield situation sharing between JF-17s and between AWACS.
Detailed radio command options for ground crew interactions.

Now it's not so easy to get engine stall when moving throttle abruptly is engine computer is off.
Changed the name of "computer total failure" for "failure of auto and manual modes (back-up mode)".
Added specific normal inverter and standby inverter failures, apart from both inverters failure already present.
Implemented caution lights of normal and standby inverter failure.
Normal and standby inverters failure logic:
-After a failure of normal inverter there is an automatic switching to standby inverter, if CB Normal Inverter is IN.-When there is an inverter failure, the corresponding caution light will illuminate, unless the pilot sets the inverter switch to the position of the working inverter.
Added several new liveries made by "Etten" for Chile and Spain.
