Well, we’ve got some very cool news! Development of Splice is going swimmingly and we’re happy to say that we were featured in Kotaku’s Indie Spotlight yesterday!

We put up a few screenshots of our latest build on our games page and there’s a new gameplay trailer available through the Kotaku article. (More media will come in the next few days.)

We can tell you that the game will feature almost a hundred strands (puzzles), many of which are dastardly difficult to solve! You’ll also be able to enjoy fourteen new Dain Saint joints that you’ll be humming all day. Splice is an incredibly immersive experience, and if you’re a puzzle person, we promise you frustration and sweet, sweet mental victories!

The game is going to be released on Steam for PC/Mac on June 13, and pre-orders (which will include Splice’s official soundtrack and a discount) will be available June 6!

Stay tuned for more Splice!

They are moderately happy.

Last night Alec mentioned that Auditorium 2 was narrowly short of meeting its necessary Kickstarter funding to spring into existence. Well, the good news for them is that they made it, just. With 67 hours to go, they’ve sneaked over the $60,000 target, so it looks like the sequel to a well-loved indie project will be going ahead. It’s fair to say that Cipher Prime are quite pleased, reporting, “There are not enough exclamation points in the world for us to give to you.”

It takes two, baby

Remember atmospheric, reflection-based music game curio Auditorium? Presumably, despite being received with hugs and even awards the world over, it didn’t rake in quite all the readies it could have done, otherwise sequel Auditorum Duet perhaps wouldn’t be Kickstarter-funded.

With three days left to go on its crowdsourcing, it’s at $51,000 of its $60,000 goal, so odds of pulling it off are reasonable at this stage. (more…)

This update fixes the end-of-game announcement thanking users for playing the demo version of the game. Credits now roll instead. This update also significantly improves upon the quality of graphics at higher resolutions. Graphics are now rendered by GPU instead of CPU, allowing for smoother pixel interpolation. Auditorium's native resolution is still 830x466 pixels.

For the game to be funded, the Auditorium 2: Duet Kickstarter project needs to successfully reach its goal of $60,000 before the deadline on March 30. If it falls short, no funds will be collected or awarded. If it reaches or exceeds its goal, Cipher Prime will then have the opportunity to create an even bigger and more beautiful experience than was previously possible with Auditorium. We need your help, though.
