We’re thrilled to see the community’s reaction to the game since launch, and we’re also striving to consistently improve the online experience for all players. As discussed in our recent Reddit AMA, the team is hard at work in ironing out server and connectivity issues and will detail those improvements in an official set of patch notes next week.

Today, however, we’re excited to share details on how the settings of Rainbow Six Siege’s main PVP playlist, Casual and Rank, will be evolving in the short term as well as our intention to create a dedicated hardcore playlist with its own set of rules.


MID-DECEMBER 2015: SYNCH BACK THE HUD OF CASUAL / RANKED PLAYLISTS. This will be done two weeks after launch through a title update. After compiling the Open Beta feedback we received, we have refined our choices for HUD settings and have decided to apply them identically to both Ranked and Casual. Minor exceptions will exist however for settings other than HUD.

HIGH PRIORITY IN 2016: DEVELOP AND LAUNCH A DEDICATED HARDCORE PLAYLIST. Current plan is to develop a full-fledged hardcore playlist (if the player base allows it). By having hardcore be its own playlist, we will have the liberty to have the hardcore experience that we want and that the community deserves. Meanwhile, players will be able to enjoy a Hardcore pre-set in Custom games.

It’s been seven years since the last Rainbow Six title was released on the market and today, Rainbow Six Siege is available to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. To say we are thrilled about this is an understatement. It’s a franchise that deserves to be taken seriously, and we weren’t ready to bring you a new title until we were confident the quality would meet what you would expect. With your help and input over the Closed Alpha and Closed Beta (among other testing periods), we are ready to begin the next phase of the Rainbow Six Siege journey.

In 1998, I was a player. I was approaching the embassy’s kitchen with my tactical group. While holding my MP5, I was placing explosives upon the door… Silence… Action and in less than 6 minutes I was done with the threat entrenched within the building’s walls.
December 1st 2015, I am a developer on the Rainbow Six license and we are about to launch SIEGE, the shooter which I consider the most tactical in the world, which will require composure, speed and creativity.

It is our pleasure, each day, to continue iterating, imagining already what you will be able to create with it.
It is our pleasure to treat you as we wish to be treated as players ourselves.
It is our pleasure to keep on being players while working on a game.

Today’s launch is only the beginning. There is at least a whole year of new content ahead of us, plus events and activities, not to mention competitive communities and tournaments to be held. We will continue to update and balance the game, and we encourage you to join the discussion on our subreddit and forums.

We hope you have a great time with the game and are looking to seeing your tactics, accomplishments, and how you will push the evolution of the title. It’s been seven years, but the wait is over and there is still more to come.
