Targeting Tower: Receives 200% of the effect from towers. Effective against Tanks;
Thunder Lance: When attacking, Tricksters have a 5% chance to summon mage lightning at the target. The strength of the lightning depends on the ability level of the mages.
New Active Enemy Ability
Swoop for the Beak
Beaks, who team up with Foongi, swoop down at their puny human enemies, unleashing their rock-solid, um, beaks onto pink unsuspecting heads. This attack makes them more dangerous for the backline units.
Balance changes: WE'VE CHANGED OUR MIND!
"The balance experiment from the last update showed that humans were too puny to be experimented on."
At the start of previous Season 6 that has just ended, we made an experimental change: almost all random mutations that used to drop for one class out of several available ones now drop for one particular class. You can find the details here in this announcement. The experiment showed that…Well, basically, you humans mostly hated it. So we are rolling this change back. However, we will move in this direction with some of our new mutations. Which basically means that a lot of mutations are going to be class-exclusive and there will be (actually, already is) a portion of multi-class mutations.
Other balance tweaks:
Delayed Pain is now available for Tricksters only
Soul Destruction is now available for Tricksters and Fighters only
Hail Satan! damage nerfed: 450->370
Sweet Pill to Swallow attack speed bonus buffed: 50%->80%
Health Link health bonus (Cultists) buffed: 50%->100%
Powerful Pill damage bonus buffed: 20->30
Magic resistance buffed:
Level 3: 50%->55%
Level 4: 75%->85%
In the Christmas Brawl mode, magic resistance buffed:
Cost at Level 2: 20->15 tokens
Bonus at Level 2: 50%->55%
Bonus at Level 3: 75%->80%
Improvements
Starting team positioning is saved and carried to New Game;
If you hover a human's name in the Death Log, it shows the item they carried before dying;
Fencers, Tricksters and Throwers now have unique animations for class abilities. The rest of the classes will follow soon!
Plans for the next update
There's not enough buttons in the game! Yes, exactly. That's why we're going to add more buttons—that you're going to be able to press outside of battle! Think of them as some kind of consumables. What will they be for? Healing humans, recruiting new ones, clearing rooms, that kind of stuff. Basically, we are designing this feature to give you an ability to turn an effed up run around. Make a come back, so to say. Providing everything's fine, expect Buttons to be implemented at the start of the next season on March 1st.
It's time to wrap up the sixth King of the Hill Season!

There is no new content this season, deal with it: it's just a small balance update. However, it is notable for its experimentational purposes: we decided to run some tests on you, puny humans. All random mutations that used to drop for one class out of several available ones now drop for one particular class (except for several simple mutations in Christmas Brawl: this mode is not affected by the experiment). For instance, the Last Chance mutation is now available exclusively to Cultists, and Magic Shield—only to Eggheads. Yes, this affects the game in a significant way, especially in PvP. But keep calm! We're not saying that this change is here to stay: our decision on whether to keep it or remove it will depend on community feedback. So let us know what you think on the forums or on our Discord server.
One more important change: if you reroll items or mutations, you can't get ones that were available before the reroll again. We should've done that long ago, we know.
Other balance tweaks:
Slightly buffed low- and middle-tier items, increased damage and/or health bonuses:
Fencers: tier 1-3 items;
Tanks: tier 1-4 items;
Cultists: tier 1-3 items;
Fighters: tier 1-3 items;
Eggheads: tier 1, 2, 4 items;
Stale Pretzel is now 1 token cheaper. Bon appetit;
54MUR41 now spawns in groups;
The Human Projectile mutation cooldown increased: 10 sec -> 16 sec;
In Christmas Brawl, Magic Shield now blocks 300 damage instead of 500;
Missing mutations have been added to the Crazy difficulty mode (except for Deja Vu);
It's time to wrap up the fifth King of the Hill Season!

Fixed some level 2 and above mutation upgrades (notably, Mana Regeneration) not being applied to resurrected units
Fixed units sometimes getting stuck in a hidden state when they are being tossed as the fight ends
Fixed enemy units (in Christmas Brawl PvP) resurrecting alongside the player's team to continue the fight when they have enough mana for the Resurrection skill
“I bring you the spirit of Christmas! This year's spirit of Christmas is "More PvP", am I right? Or course I am.”
We have added a new online game mode called Christmas Brawl. It's not just a mode, it's a whole new minigame, basically:
To unlock, beat first 4 levels;
You battle against another player's army every three rooms;
If you're defeated, you lose a life but your humans are resurrected;
You only have three lives
The goal is to stack up ten wins in one run. You can try to win more to beat your record, of course;
You don't have to navigate the dungeon: all levels are linear;
There is no food therefore your puny humans are not hungry.
New Enemies
Waiting for your "PlEaSe nERf, it ruined my run!" complaints. ;)
New Mutations
Damage Link: When used, the link deals 150 magic damage to enemies near the target;
Effective Taunt: The Tank class ability lasts 2 sec longer;
Health Link: The link increases the max health of the Cultists class by 50% for the duration;
Minions, Attack!: Summoned creatures receive 200% of the effect from the Shooters' aura;
Powerful Pill: When healing, Healers grant a bonus of 20 to their target's attack for 10 sec. This bonus stacks;
Right in the Heart: The Tank class ability reduces taunted targets' max health by 25% for the duration;
Spirit Healing: When healing, Healers restore 30 mana to their target;
Additions
UI:
Ability tooltips that are displayed when holding down Alt now show stats that reflect all modifications that the player's army has.
Balance changes
Gameplay:
Hunger now decreases not only physical, but magical damage as well. It now also affects summoned creatures;
More enemies now spawn on level 7, less—on levels 10 and 11;
Room token rewards on levels 9-11 have been increased
Foongus has been nerfed! Yes, you begged us to do that and we listened. From now on you won't be running into multiple Foongi in one room—they will spawn in company with Beaks, one Foongus at a time;
Puny human thrown in the sacrificial pit will give 4 food instead of 5;
Purchasing bigger food packs is now a more lucrative offer: a 27 token pack now contains 120 food instead of 110;
Shooters' items damage bonus decreased:
25
55->50
85->75
115->100
145->125

Mana Denial: the amount of mana burnt increased 10->20;
Feint: damage increased 200->300;

Bash: chance for Shotters increased 2%->3%;
Stunning beauty: chance increased 20%->30;
Soul Destruction: now decreases mana damage resistance by 100% and is available for Tricksters only;
Taunt for tentacles can now be found only on levels 9-11;
Hail Satan! damage: 600->450;
Spiky Armor used to reflect base damage but not bonus critical damage. Now it, um, reflects bonus critical damage too;

UPDATE: 0.15.1.0
We're working on a big update which will be released at the beginning of the next Fifth King of the Hill Season just before Christmas. However for this update that has just been released, we made a couple of minor but nevertheless important changes.
Changes to the game mechanics
⬆ Healers now have a ranged attack. It doesn't have a very big radius though;
The Healers' class ability has been reworked: now excess healing from it is automatically applied to the most wounded team member. E.g.: if a healer provides 50 points of healing but their target's health bar is only 10 points away from being full, 40 points are being transferred to a human with the least HP regardless of how far they are from the healer; These changes are aimed at improving the Healers class. However, healers' mana will still deplete and they will continue to choose the nearest wounded ally as their patient. Stop asking us to make our pink little dummies smarter! The brain of a puny human is too small for any types of sophisticated behavior;
Now Cultists and Eggheads can go through allies if they are unable to apply their class ability for a certain amount of time. It should prevent them from being stuck mid-battle;
⬆ We have added a medal that is awarded if you beat the game on the "HARD" difficulty chip. No, it's not an achievement, it's a medal. Which is shown next to your puny nickname in King of the Hill. Permanently;
A smaaaaal-ass fix. Just a tiny one. The Throwers' class ability wasn't receiving the bonuses from ability damage upgrades and the "Energy Vampirism" mutation. Or rather, Throwers were receiving those bonuses but depending on the enemy's level of these mutations. Yes, we totally overlooked that one. But you did too! Anyway, it's fixed now. Let's see how it affects the balance.
Balance changes
Hunger/Starvation negative effects have been increased: 30%/60% → 40%/70%;
Added passive magic resistance to several post-level 4 enemies: from 30% to 50%;
THE STEAM AWARDS have started and the Despot needs you. Let your little brains send signals to your fingers and nominate us for the Best Game You Suck At category in the Awards widget above. Yes, you suck at this game and everyone knows it. And stop asking us to nerf those cabbages. Tell you what: vote for us first and we will think about it.
One more thing before we let you go back to your breeding tube: the game is 20% off for the duration of the Steam Autumn Sale, so prepare your puny wallets!
