GSC Game World have announced a release date for Cossacks 3 [official site], a remake of their 2001 RTS Cossacks: European Wars. If you loved Cossacks already then now’s the time to pay attention. It’ll be out September 20th.
Remember when S.T.A.L.K.E.R. studio GSC Gameworld grandly announced its renewed existence to the world, and how I warned you it was unlikely their next game would be a new entry in the open-world FPS series? I do hope you didn’t get your hopes up regardless.
GSC Game World today announced Cossacks 3 [official site], which is actually a remake of ye olde Cossacks: European Wars from 2001. Their return to their historical epic real-time strategy series is due later this year, and teases battles with up to 10,000 units.
GSC have announced their arrival at Good Old Games with a bundled package of some of their most fondly remembered titles. Yes, it’s the Cossacks Anthology, containing Cossacks: European Wars and its two expansion packs. Now, I do> have very fond memories of Cossacks’ take on the historical RTS, throwing around thousands of units at once, but of course it’s the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games that most people know GSC for. Further titles will be appearing but I’m not even sure S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is old enough to be considered anything other than a GG. The Cossacks Anthology is available here, priced at $5.99. Maybe if everyone in the world buys it twice, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 appears immediately?
