Together with third-party developer Heavy Ordnance Works, we are excited to announce today's release of a major update to Arma 3 Creator DLC: Spearhead 1944!



This update deploys players to Mortain during Operation Lüttich (August 7-13, 1944), a major German counterattack during the Battle of Normandy. This new 64 km² terrain features new unique objects and iconic landmarks such as the Mortain Church, Cambremont mine, and L'Abbaye Blanche. Here, players can take part in two new cooperative scenarios designed for up to 6 players. This update includes new weapons and vehicles (including variants), clothing and gear variants, playable factions, immersive German and French radio protocols, and much more.



The Arma 3 Creator DLC: Spearhead 1944 is available now on Steam for $17.99 USD (€17.99EUR / £14.99 GBP). The CDLC is currently available with a 20% discount (price with discount: $14.39 USD / €14.39 EUR / £11.99 GBP) until August 8.

• What is Arma 3 Creator DLC?
  Creator DLC is a label for original Arma 3 projects made by third-party developers and published by Bohemia Interactive. This program enables external talent to earn a financial reward for their work, while players get to enjoy more new quality content. For more information, please visit the Arma 3 website.
  
• Why is Creator DLC optional to install?
  We have decided to make it optional to have the Creator DLC data installed. This is mainly to avoid regular Arma 3 installations from requiring a lot more additional hard-drive storage, even for those who have not purchased a Creator DLC. Additionally, a Creator DLC's theme or setting might be very different from regular Arma 3 or not everyone might want it to be visible in their game.
  
• How do I launch Spearhead 1944?
  You will need to visit the DLC section in the Arma 3 Launcher, make sure Spearhead 1944 is owned and loaded, then launch the game by clicking the PLAY button.
  
• Can I still play together with people who do not own the DLC in multiplayer?
  To enable non-owners to still play on multiplayer servers that make use of Spearhead 1944 content, Heavy Ordnance Works has published a "compatibility data for non-owners" via the Steam Workshop. Be aware that access to the DLC's premium Normandy and Mortain terrains, campaign, as well as singleplayer and co-op scenarios remain exclusive to owners of the DLC. Restrictions to the use of non-owned content also apply.

If you are wondering where to get started, we recommend playing the Prologue campaign first. From there, you can play the single-player Showcase scenarios, and then the East Wind campaign. If multiplayer is more your thing, you can use the in-game server browser to find both official and community run servers with a number of different game modes.

Some of Arma 3's most fulfilling experiences come from joining a dedicated multiplayer community and participating in their events. If you are thinking of joining a unit, you can check out Arma 3 Units, Bohemia Interactive Forums, Steam Discussions, and the r/FindAUnit Subreddit to see what’s available. There is definitely a unit for every player, from casual to hardcore realism! These units are more than happy to on-board new players and bring them into the MilSim fold!


The Arma community has also provided quite the number of supplemental guides and tutorials for new players over the years. You can find written guides on a multitude of topics here on Steam, or you can search YouTube for video tutorials. The "Community Guides" video series created in collaboration with Dslyecxi, leader of the Arma community group Shack Tactical, introduce both new and old players alike to the wealth of possibilities that Arma 3 brings to the table, as well as familiarize them with the basic tactical concepts needed to survive.
