If you are wondering where to get started, we recommend playing the Prologue campaign first. From there, you can play the single-player Showcase scenarios, and then the East Wind campaign. If multiplayer is more your thing, you can use the in-game server browser to find both official and community run servers with a number of different game modes.
Some of Arma 3's most fulfilling experiences come from joining a dedicated multiplayer community and participating in their events. If you are thinking of joining a unit, you can check out Arma 3 Units, Bohemia Interactive Forums, Steam Discussions, and the r/FindAUnit Subreddit to see what’s available. There is definitely a unit for every player, from casual to hardcore realism! These units are more than happy to on-board new players and bring them into the MilSim fold!
The Arma community has also provided quite the number of supplemental guides and tutorials for new players over the years. You can find written guides on a multitude of topics here on Steam, or you can search YouTube for video tutorials. The "Community Guides" video series created in collaboration with Dslyecxi, leader of the Arma community group Shack Tactical, introduce both new and old players alike to the wealth of possibilities that Arma 3 brings to the table, as well as familiarize them with the basic tactical concepts needed to survive.
A staple of the Arma series is modding - and Arma 3, like the titles that preceded it - thrives due to the talent, hard work, and dedication of these content creators!
Whether you want to create mods for Arma 3 yourself, or install mods created by others, it might take a little bit of effort to get things going at first. Fortunately, there are again many useful guides available online. For more info on modding, be sure to check out our Community Wiki and the official Bohemia Interactive forums.

Just browse through the newest, most popular, or highest-rated Arma 3 scenarios, weapons, vehicles, and more - and click 'subscribe' to add them to your game. Find something that you like? Give it a rating, so others can join! For content developers, sharing your creations has never been this easy. Upload your Arma 3 scenarios (through the in-game scenario editor) or add-ons (via the Arma 3 Tools) to the Steam Workshop, for everyone to play and enjoy!
You can reinforce your Arma 3 game with additional terrains, factions, weapons, vehicles, gear, campaigns, scenarios, and more though a wide variety of official DLC and Expansions. Arma 3 Apex is the most popular expansion available, and a number of online communities require ownership of it to play in their events. Keep an eye out for future Steam Sales to pick up Arma 3's DLC for a discount!
Creator DLC (CDLC) is additional content for Arma 3 made by third-party developers, and published by Bohemia Interactive. Our goal with Creator DLC is to provide more original quality content to players, create an opportunity for outside talent to earn a financial reward, while also making it possible for Bohemia to invest more into the Arma series' long-term future. To date, six different CDLCs have been released by five different third-party developers.

This expansion introduces a whole new survival challenges, spread over 83km² of volcanic land, icy seas, and treacherous terrains.
The centerpiece of the expansion is the Sakhal terrain, inviting you to explore its rugged and desolate reaches.
