Hello, this is a message from the Eternal Return Team.

To all our European and South American players,

We have been receiving a lot of questions and comments regarding our decision to open the Europe and South America servers for a limited time daily.

We want to reassure you that this is, by no means, a sign of us not looking after our players in both regions. Rather, it's the complete opposite! We limited the time for the integrity of both regional player communities.

When previously opening the Europe and South America servers, even when opening both servers during the Steam Game Festival, the response and population was not very high. This resulted in players finding matches and ending up with extremely long queue times and having an overall bad experience, independent of the game mode.

Having the servers open for just a few hours allows us to try and congregate as many players from the region as possible, resulting in shorter queues and more fun.

We hope you all understand that one of our main goals is to have the Europe and South America servers open all day and with every mode, just like with Asia and North America.

Some members of our team are also from South America (Eternalice) and Europe (Geebly), so you guys are not alone. We assure you that we want the best for both regional communities.

The first day on Early Access has looked very positive for Europe, and hopefully we will be able to reach the minimum viable playerbase to extend the server for more hours and modes.

South America still seems to be growing, but we are seeing an increase of players compared to previous times we've opened the server.

We will be gradually increasing server times and modes according to the community response.
Also another point regarding the EU and SA servers and a big reason for us to open them was out of loyalty to our existing community of beta testers in regions. We did not want to leave them out of Early Access by not having servers in either region at all.

Opening the EU and SA servers for a limited time is not some ploy to take your money or anything like that. The game is free-to-play, you can obtain all the characters by just playing the game. Limitations on server time does make this a little more difficult, so in return, we provide a free character rotation so you can still play with most of the characters while unlocking the ones you are mostly focused on.
Completing the whole tutorial will automatically grant you enough A-Coin to unlock your favorite character, as well as awarding Jackie and Aya upon completion.

We are absolutely not demanding that people buy the Starter Pack DLC. The pack is just a budget friendly option for people who just started the game and with little time to unlock all their desired characters. We had a similar thing offered in the Alpha and Beta tests, and due to popularity, we brought it to Early Access!

To summarize, we are opening the servers on a schedule to congregate players to the corresponding region so that people can have quick queue times while we start gradually extending server times and modes per each region upon increasing the player base on each.

While finishing up the development process for the Early Access build, there was a problem causing some of Chiara's skills to be applied differently from the patch notes.

While squashing Chiara's remaining bugs, the wrong branch of our code was incorrectly merged, causing only the bug-less part to remain and pushing some of the early ability values.

We made a big mistake during the internal inspection process. We will review and strengthen our internal inspection processes so that the same problem does not occur again. We want to sincerely apologize to the players who have been looking forward to Early Access and playing with Chiara.

If you are new to the game, we have some very important tips for you:

1. Click the yellow triangle!


You'll see a yellow triangle in the upper left corner on the icons of items on recommended/targeted equipment. Don't throw them away, craft them!

2. Get all the materials from your area and move on!


On the right side of your screen, there's a menu of items that can be found in your current area. These items are marked with the yellow label.

3. After you complete your weapon, get ready to fight!


You're free to pick your battles, but it's probably better to fight after crafting your weapon. If you take out your enemies, you can take their stuff!

4. Use the Hyperloop to save time!


Some areas have a teleporting booth, disguised as a phone booth, that can teleport you to any other area of the island.
Open the map and check where these devices are, marked by a double arrow on the map, and use them to move around more efficiently.

Chiara, the Fallen, is the 15th character to join Lumia Island in Eternal Return!

Stigma (Passive)
When Chiara hits an enemy with a skill, she carves a Stigma into them, reducing their defense.
  • The Stigma remains for 6 seconds. Chiara can apply a maximum of 4 Stigmas to the same enemy.
  • When the enemy reaches the maximum amount of Stigmas, Chiara's movement speed is increased for 6 seconds.
  • Defense reduction per Stigma: 4/6/8%
  • Movement speed increase when reaching 4 Stigmas: 4/7/10%

Hand of Corruption (Q)
Chiara casts out corrupted energy in the targeted direction, dealing damage to all enemies it hits.
  • Cooldown 10/9.5/9/8.5/8s
  • SP Cost 50/60/70/80/90
  • Range 5m (cone)
  • Damage: 60/100/140/180/200 + AP 60%
  • The corrupted energy remains for 0.25 seconds, reducing the movement speed of enemies by 30%.
  • Hold the skill down for 0.5 seconds to cast out the corrupted energy further and in a straight line.(12m)
  • Using the skill short-ranged reduces its cooldown by 20%.

Depraved Prayer (W)
Chiara divines a shield, absorbing damage. The shield remains for 6 seconds.
If the shield is not depleted after 3 seconds, she can reactivate the skill again, making it explode, dealing damage to enemies in range.

Mania (E)
Chiara sends out a shackle in the targeted direction, dealing damage to enemies hit and linking them to Chiara. If the link is maintained for 1.75 seconds, she deals damage and roots the enemy for 1.5 seconds.

Plague (R)
Chiara channels the darkness inside of her, temporarily transforming into a fallen angel.
While transformed, her normal attacks are ranged, her max HP is increased, and she Plagues the area around her. Enemies inside of the Plague receive damage every second and Chiara recovers HP in proportion to damage dealt.
  • Cooldown 100/90/80s
  • SP Cost 100/120/140
  • Auto-attack range 5.25m, Plague damage range 6.5m, max Judgement range 8m
  • Plague damage per second 25/35/45 + AP 15%
  • Recovers HP based on 10/20/30% damage dealt.

While Plague is activated, she gains vision of all enemies that have the maximum amount of Stigmas, and she can cast Last Judgement.

Last Judgement: Chiara can crash down upon an enemy with the maximum amount of Stigmas, dealing true damage and ending the Plague.
  • Judgement damage 200/300/400 + AP 120%
  • Killing enemies with Last Judgement reduces the cooldown of Plague by 50%.

In-game System

Saved Plan System
The Saved Plan feature was expanded and improved.
  • Multiple Saved Plans
    • You can now save up to 5 different plans per character.
    • Saved Plans are saved on our server. Even if you log in to another computer, you will be able to see/use your Saved Plans.
  • Changing Plans in a match
    • You can switch Saved Plans while in a match.
    • Take your strategy up a notch by dedicating 1 or 2 plans to food, traps or other items.
  • Saved Plans sharing feature
    • You can share Saved Plans you made.
    • You can also import Plans from other players.
    • Filter Saved Plans per number of use or shares.

Observer Mode
You can now spectate Custom Games.
  • Spectators will have vision of all players on the map.
  • Additional features for the observer mode will continuously be added in the future.

Character spawning location changed
Moved the spawn of characters for areas where they were around too many containers or too far from any containers.
  • Spawning locations for starting areas or hyperloop teleporting have been changed to reduce irregularities.

LP System changes
If you saw your LP disappear after the Open Beta, that was intended!
  • LP will be divided per mode: Solo, Duo, and Squad.
  • In order to prevent new players from encountering experienced players at the start, we will be distributing 30% of your current LP into each mode.
  • Adjusting premade team LP
    • Compensation for pre-made Duos and Squads (pre-made teams matchmaking and final LP calculations counted as slightly higher LP) increased.
    • We are trying to limit players intentionally matching with low LP players to gain more LP. If the LP difference between the members of the premade team is higher than a certain amount, it will be adjusted to match the highest LP player.

Reporting players
Hover over the offending player's name in the post-match screen for justice.
  • You can now report players directly from the results screen at the end of the match.
  • You can select various reasons for reporting like teaming, verbal abuse, negative attitude, etc.
  • The feature to add detail to reports will be added later. If you want to add comments to your report, send in a support ticket by going to Settings > Support > Customer Support.

Balance

Completing your weapon first is very important. However, most routes and strategies now tend to be overly dependent on this.

To ensure that the completion of the weapon does not affect initial combat capability too much, we want to strengthen mid-level items to reduce the sudden increase in strength after the weapon is complete.

Also, we want to strengthen the basic stats of characters little by little, reducing the influence of the first item on early fights. However, changing the base stats can have a significant impact on balance, so we will be adjusting this very slowly and carefully.

On the other hand, the handling and dodging difficulty of skills should be balanced -- some skills are currently just too slow. We want to try and find a balance point for this by slightly adjusting the speed of some skill projectiles over time.

Hello to all on Lumia Island. Here's a quick announcement regarding the LP rankings.

Going forward, we will be separating LPs for solo, duo, and squad mode starting Early Access for smoother matchmaking and easier record keeping before we enable actual Ranked queues.
However, we must reset the current LP rankings in order to separate them.
We previously announced that LP would be related to MMR, but we'd like to apologize for the sudden change in policy.

In order to prevent new players from encountering experience players at the start, we will be distributing 30% of the total LP you currently have into each mode.
(Ex: if you have 1000 LP at the moment, you will start Early Access with 300 LP in solo, duo, and squad.)
