First, we have the concept art for Shoichi, the Cunning Gentleman.
Shoichi is well versed in the art persuasion - a master at convincing others. Equipped up with a secret briefcase loaded to the brim with blades, he looks ready to take on Lumia Island - either from the front-lines or by letting the others do his bidding.
Next up, we have Emma, the Magnificent.
Emma's outfit really goes well with her hair, and she's even accessorizing her rabbit too! ...Are more gonna come out of that hat? Also, it looks like she's got a couple playing cards ready to go. Will she use them for magic tricks or as a weapon?

After a handful of Alpha and Beta tests, Eternal Return: Black Survival is joining the Steam Game Festival before launching onto a full Early Access release!
Find your favorite character from our (ever growing) roster of playable characters, plan a strategy and route, and take on 17 other foes on Lumia Island.
You can download the game from the Steam page, hop into the game, and play! It will be very similar to the Early Access version of the game, but we’ll be continuously adding more features and characters along the way.
The servers will open with the Steam Game Festival on October 7th at 10 AM PST and close a bit early, October 11th, 11 PM PST. We gotta prepare for Early Access!

Chiara will descend to Lumia Island armed with a Rapier in one hand and her bible in the other. We're here to give you a quick look at how exactly she will pass her judgement on the other test subjects.
Rapier auto-attack
Passive > Stigma
When Chiara hits an enemy with a skill, she carves a Stigma into them, reducing their defense. Chiara can apply only up to a certain amount of Stigmas to the same enemy.
When the enemy reaches the maximum amount of Stigmas, Chiara's movement speed is increased.
Q > Hand of Corruption
Chiara casts out corrupted energy in the targeted direction, dealing damage to all enemies it hits. The corrupted energy remains for a certain time, reducing the movement speed of enemies.
Hold the skill down for a few seconds to cast out the corrupted energy further and in a straight line.
W > Depraved Prayer
Chiara divines a shield, absorbing damage. If the shield is not depleted after a certain time, she can reactivate the skill again, making it explode, dealing damage to enemies in range.
E > Mania
Chiara sends out a shackle in the targeted direction, dealing damage to enemies hit and linking them to Chiara. If the link is maintained for a certain time, she deals damage and roots the enemy.
R > Plague // Last Judgement
Chiara channels the darkness inside of her, transforming into a fallen angel. While transformed, her normal attacks are ranged, her max HP is increased, and she Plagues the area around her. Enemies inside of the Plague receive damage every second, and Chiara recovers HP in proportion to damage dealt. While Plague is activated, she gains vision of all enemies that have the maximum amount of Stigmas, and she can cast Last Judgement.
Last Judgement: Chiara can crash down upon an enemy with the maximum amount of Stigmas, dealing true damage and ending the Plague. Killing enemies with Last Judgement reduces the cooldown of Plague.

We are happy to announce that South America Server (São Paulo) and Europe Server (Frankfurt) will be opened during the Steam Game Festival!
From October 7th 10 AM PST, Eternal Return will participate in the "Steam Game Festival".
The Steam Game Festival is an event that gathers all Steam games currently having a "Demo".
We plan to open Europe and South American servers during the festival:
Frankfurt (EU): 10 AM to 2 PM PST (7 PM to 11 PM CEST)
São Paulo (South America): 3 PM to 7 PM PST (7 PM to 11 PM BRT)
Along with the promotion the festival provides, we hope to gain attention for our Early Access release and qualify for more promotion within Steam thanks to that.
We also hope that with a good response from our South American and European communities we can maintain the two respective servers open all the time.
We will alternate the modes each day between Solo mode and Squad mode. (Changes to be made upon player response)

Improving matchmaking
More LP
As players continue to gain LP, the amount of players with 500+ LP are increasing, so we are segmenting high-level player matchmaking a bit.
Spotlight - Changes in Area Balance
The focus for the first area selection right now on Lumia Island for many players is usually the southeast side of the map. We are trying to redistribute some items so that starting areas become more diverse and allow more options for players. We are trying to shift some of the focus to the northwest side of the map, around Hotel and Beach, by switching the Tree of Life and Hammer locations and readjusting Fish and Chips, the food with the highest recovery, so that you have to visit both the north and south parts of the map to complete it.

Making Tree of Life appear earlier in-game so that it matters a bit more in early game strategy.

Due to Iron Sheet, players can easily craft at least two pieces of upper-tier equipment early game, and can easily make EOD Suit easily in the mid-game. We’re getting rid of the hammer in the oft-visited southeast and adjusting item locations so that players need to visit the northwest part of the map to complete Iron Sheet.

Wickeline
The 6-minute "Vital Force" buff you gain by slaying Wickeline is tuned a bit too high in team modes. Facing Wickleine will now be a bit more difficult, and she grants a bit less power in team modes.

The icon name of the "Vital Force" buff was also appearing as "Vital Force" for the enemy receiving the debuff by it. For the sake of clarity, the icon name for the debuffed enemy was changed to "Vital Force Disturbance".
"Vital Force Disturbance" no longer stacks. For example, if all 3 members of a squad attacked an enemy, "Vital Force Disturbance" was applied 3 times to said enemy. The debuff will now be applied only once - only duration will be reset.
Relevant changes, such as strengthening Wickeline in Duo and Squad modes, will continue in future updates.
