Introducing new update and Halloween lootbo... freeboxes

It's that time of year when everybody expects to be scared. Hopefully, word "lootbox" is scary enough - so here it is captains! But, to avoid confusion, our lootboxes are scary because of the appearance, nothing else. No money will exchange hands here.

Besides temporary Halloween goodies, we've also released an entire update with a number of changes and improvements. Changelog is here:

The whole encounter fleet scaling system completely redesigned.
Two different scaling systems, depending on both the player's and the fleet owner's faction power introduced
Notoriety system with the non-outlaw factions of the Gemini (The encountering fleets' power is determined by how much notoriety the player has with the owning faction. Notoriety is reduced only by time)
Outlaw-like factions face fleet diminishing depending on how much beating they've been taking lately. Their power is able to recover over time.
Freelance mission rewards significantly increased while the difficulty remains the same
Destruction Convoy raid and Survey missions partial rewards increased
Freelancer perk effect increased
Endpoint DLC mission 5 issue fixed (Player would get a new set of weapons, leading to possible loss of a more valuable set already equipped. The game will now store the existing weapons in the ship inventory)
Endpoint DLC Mission log fully implemented (The Log will come with a retroactive fix, meaning it will update the Mission log for the player, no matter which part of the quest chain the player is at currently. This means no new game is necessary.)
Further script optimization

Important note on Halloween freeboxes

Halloween reward containers scattered through the Gemini and are available in ALL game scenarios (including the A'shriari)
The Halloween reward boxes contains either a Trick or a Treat
The Halloween containers can come as a single unit, or as a pack of up to 5 boxes

Many years have passed since the Solari Concord successfully established a foothold in Gemini – but they haven't stopped there; a combination of rising military strength and persuasive diplomacy has caused them to become the leading power in Gemini. So much news, so little time!

Greetings captains,

As you've probably noticed, entire Starpoint Gemini franchise is now on massive sale. Latest base game – Starpoint Gemini Warlords is at 75% off! So, if you ever wanted to immerse yourself in our Universe, now is the perfect opportunity!

Second big news is that final DLC for Warlords has just been released on Steam – Starpoint Gemini Warlords: Endpoint. As name suggests, this will be the last official DLC for the game. Endpoint is story driven scenario that will conclude Warlords storyline, and probably not in a manner one would expect. But those of you that will play it will understand what we mean...
One sentence: Finish what you have started!

Endpoint DLC key features:

Third news today is that, as usually with addition of new DLC, base game is also updated. Not a huge update this time, but still some well needed improvements:

• Faction side quest for Outlanders is now fixed retroactively
• Weapon turret firing arc on Numibian corvette class is now correct
• „Hanging“ misaligned beam weapons will now fire correctly
• All shipyard production templates will now work properly, and all shipyards will sell intended ships
• Problematic chunk of german localization is now replaced with much improved version (huge thanks to ikbg90 & Vorlod for awesome work and help with this ! )
• nVidia Ansel support is now added to game
• multiple further optimizations and reported bug fixes

Starpoint Gemini Warlords successfully executed jump to version 2.0

Dear space captains!

After a lot of work, and a lot of suggestions by players, we've just released large free update that pushed Starpoint Gemini Warlords to version 2.0

Since there are so many new things to try, allow us to skip the long introduction and get straight to the point - list of changes :

Diplomacy

Diplomacy overhaul

Additional

Factions will react if you try to connect to their satellites or hack them
If you lose a station, there's a chance an allied or neutral faction will contact you and offer to retrieve the same station for a certain amount of credits
If you lose a part of your fleet in a battle, there's a chance an allied or neutral faction will contact you and send you a certain amount of resources to compensate your loss
Factions will react if you build Proxima shipyard
Factions will react if you start Proxima research
Factions will react if you end Proxima research
Factions will react if you make a planetary assault

These changes work for all the save games, except the ones that are currently tied to the story campaign. This content is locked for them because it would directly affect the game and game's story.

The rest

Wormhole civilian tasks are improved on align change
Scrolling with the controller on Info menu list is now available
RECORDS Bonuses can now be scrolled with the controller
Improved font readability in certain cases (better kerning)
SHIPBUILDING interface button is disabled until you obtain a Hangar Level 1 in HQ, with an explanation why it is disabled
Press View button on the controller to reveal hints on Starchart
Hint for Command Points on Starchart
Hint for SuperCapital Ship on Starchart
Hint for Civilian tasks on Starchart
NEW GAME Story Campaign and FREEROAM modes are now separated, if you're playing Vanilla game or any DLC, except Cycle of Warfare
Hints for FOW, Camera and Select modes on small HUD icons added (previously available only on the mouse)
Hint on Trader menu for Double-click and Shift-click options added
Hint on a station; it says Toggle Station Interface instead of Toggle Station HUD
Fixed and re-added troopers menu
Fixed GPU related causes of crashes, especially on weaker GPUs
Fixed one small memory leak
Fixed a cause of performance drain in script system affecting long play sessions
Fixed several minor visual glitches
Fixed several Mod problems + improved output warnings and errors caused by mods
Rise of Numibia DLC has received a German, Russian, Chinese and French localization
German dialogues (vanilla) have been fixed
Chinese localization has been overhauled
Japanese localization in form of a mod for vanilla version of the game

Ha! Before you went berserk on us - yup, we have actually introduced Lootboxes in Starpoint Gemini Warlords in the latest update, for free :-)

What are those, and what can you actually do with them? Well, for starters, yes, Lootboxes are completely free. Lootboxes are random events in Starpoint Gemini Warlords that will be available for a limited period of time, so make sure to be quick and hunt that loot around Gemini!

And yes, Lootboxes are available in both vanilla game, and the DLCs.

Now go! Go and hunt those lootboxes, collect loot and treasures, without spending a penny/eurocent/lipu
