Our heroes (and crab villains) are ready to hook their loved ones in the face this weekend! These special pink and blank character skins will actually be a permanent addition to the game after Valentine's Day! If playing as a pink Fin is all you every wanted, then you’re just like me :D

  • Improved AI ability to climb up through platforms.
  • Jade's alternate green skin changed to have a black top with green pants. (She kinda looks like Little Mac?)

  • Fixed bug with twitch connections not working.
  • Fixed bug with twitch connections crashing the Main Menu.
  • Fixed bug with the wrong player getting the winner trophy.
  • Fixed bug with ball getting stuck when pass target dies.
  • Fixed bug with main menu camera not getting aligned properly.
  • FIxed game over panels for bots not confirming when player confirms.

Dark sails have risen over the horizon, and with it the Crab Captain has emerged! Grimlock swings into battle today as the 5th playable character in Skyhook! You’ll have to unlock him in order to hook your friends with his big meaty claws!


You can now connect Skyhook with your twitch account and play against your viewers while streaming! Fight bots named after viewers and allow the chat to vote for what powerups everyone gets!

  • Camera will now track a player’s goal if they have the ball and are near their own goal.
  • Improvements to camera tracking, zooming, and shaking.
  • Improved most UI alerts and gameplay huds.
  • Added fancy new doodads to the main menu.
  • Added support to use the Space key when customizing input.

  • Melee button will now fire mounts if you don’t have a ball or other item held.

  • Fixed bug with team tokens not auto selecting previous teams when returning to menu.
  • Fixed bug with skyball not reappearing after falling off the stage.

  • Fixed bug with game over panels showing wrong player icon when match ends with mirror powerup activated.

Hi everyone!

A number of players requested an option to turn off the new dynamic camera, so I've included it in a hot fix for this week. I'll be trying to smooth out and improve the camera over the next week, so please try it again in the future sometime if you turn it off :)



I've also fixed several bugs with customizing keyboard input. You can now use the spacebar, and there should no longer be any issues saving the changes to melee keys.

Melee Combat! There’s a new way to kill your enemies, like slashing them in the face as Jade or chomping their face off as Fin! Melee makes close combat scenarios much more interesting now. And yes, you can chomp incoming hooks to deflect them.


With the introduction of the melee mechanic, I was also able to use it as a pass button in Sky Ball mode. If you have the ball perform a melee attack to pass the ball to your teammate!




New moving and zooming camera to focus on the action! You’re sky battles have never been more epic.

For everyone dealing with input issues, I have updated XInput to address most of the controller issues on Windows 7, 8, and 10.
Fixed issues with keyboard keys sticking on Linux.
Major improvement to player AI.
New Sky Ball trophies: Longest Shot, Longest Pass, and Most Assists.
Adjusted Lava height and Sky Ball spawn points in Magma Cove.
Press start to join on character selection.
Mirror powerup can be stacked by multiple players.
Saved Data will be lost after this update.

Fixes
Fixed player sound effects not following global sound settings.
Fixed player shadows showing on castle background tiles.
Fixed bug with game crashing when quitting the game.
Fixed bug with not being able to cancel game over panels from keyboard input.
Fix bug with fog rendering in Frostguard.
Removed Snow particles from Frostguard to fix performance issues.

Hold onto your grappling hooks ladies and gentlemen, because it’s officially Sky Ball season! Sky Ball is the most popular sport in the world of Skyhook, where two teams battle it out to throw the ball into the other team’s goal. There are no fouls or red cards in this sport, hook the other team to their death, grab the sky ball, and swing towards the goal.



With the introduction of Sky Ball, I wanted to take the time to make it so that you could play team matches in any of the game modes. Team Deathmatch is no longer one of the options, instead you can play Deathmatch, Steam Tank and Sky Slayers as a team! On top of that, the new team selection menu allows you to choose teams for bots too! There are no more limitations on what modes you can and cannot play with bots.

Changes
  • Increased player movement speed.
  • All character now have the same movement speed.
  • Decreased respawn time by 1 second.
  • Gryphons will no longer disappear when a player jumps or dodges off of them. They will stay on screen until their timer runs out.
  • New 2d shadow system for players, items, and mounts.
  • AI will not go for powerups it already has.
  • Improved flight path navigation for bots on mounts.
  • Decreased bot’s ability to dodge and increased their chance to attack players.
  • Overall improvements to AI players.
  • Added hover effect to player tokens.
  • Climbing up and down through platforms will kill during Deadly Dodge mutator.
  • New death sounds and voice overs on character deaths.
  • New FX when a player is killed by a hook.
  • New Magma Cove stage music!
  • Added more platforms to Magma Cove II.
  • Mask power ups have been removed from the game.
  • Darkened character selection rooms to know when a player hasn’t selected.

  • Fixed bug where bots would not fire once on a ship or turret.
