Alpha 4.0 is out!

It’s been a week since our last dev update, and as we promised, alpha 4.0 is out!
Thank you all for your patience.
Players can now play Road to Eden on local dedicated servers. We will setup official servers once the factions, claim, and door lock system are implemented.
We will also add new dedicated server gameplay modes like role-play and PVP in future updates. There is also a larger map in the works for dedicated servers, and that will include vehicles and other mechanics that we will announce at a later stage.

We have upgraded the building system and removed the building grid mechanic, players can now build anywhere (Not in POIs), blocks snap to other blocks and can be rotated 45 deg adding more freedom and versatility to the build system, you still need supports to build a roof though. A lot more block are also in the works and will be announced at a later stage!

As usual we will push this update to the alpha branch for a while to test it before releasing it on the main branch, you are all welcome to switch to the alpha branch to check it out and make your own dedicated servers. Don't hesitate to let us know if you need assistance with the servers.

Hello Survivors!

I know it has been a few weeks since we released an update, as a result I have decided to start a development update to keep you informed on what is being developed in the pipeline.

We have been hard at work to bring you the new dedicated servers system!
We are almost done working on a system that will enable you to host your own dedicated server on a separate computer, join a dedicated server and host or join a game hosted on your local computer.

We will also setup an official dedicated server soon after the release.
A new game is required after the update as previously saved games will not be compatible with the new system.

We have also upgraded the build system and added new blocks. The new building system will enable players to build without being restricted to grids, rotate blocks 45 deg and automatically snap blocks to other blocks


Once we release Alpha 4.0, we will start working on claims, door locks, drivable vehicles, more player capacity on servers and a clan system, in preparation for the large map that will only be available on dedicated servers.
We are also preparing new block tiers, and new block forms and designs that will be announced in future development updates.

Optimizations, optimizations, optimizations!

We have pushed Alpha 3.55 to the main branch.

A lot of optimizations went into this patch.
We were hard at work to bring you more game stability on low end PCs, CPU usage reduction, memory usage reduction, new dungeons, new mobs, and a lot more!

Following the overwhelming positive feed back we received, especially from the PVE community, we are happy to inform you that we will soon bring you the dedicated server tools so you can host your own dedicated servers and we will also be upgrading all the movement and fighting animations with a motion capture system to bring more life to the characters.

Alpha 3.499 is live!
We have had overwelming positive feed back from our closed alpha testers and community.

After release all upgrades will be tested in the Experimental branch for a couple of weeks before pushing it to the main branch, you are all welcome to join, you just need to switch to the experimental branch.

As part of the road map that we will be posting on discord, we are planing to bring you the tools to host your own dedicated server as early as possible.

We are also planing to expand the map, add new points of interest, add new underground locations, as well as opening up all existing underground locations.

As for the builders among you, we are planing to add a lot of new block forms and new building materials some craftable and some can only be scavenged from POIs.

Based on community requests, We have raised the max amount of players on the hosted servers to 10 players, but should only be recommended to high-end computers and and high bandwidth connections
