Dice Captain - lil Kisik
Version 0.09.02 is now available!
What's New:
• Save system and the ability to clear saves were added.
• Global currency and its accumulation were added.
• A window with statistics and general information now appears at the end of the run.
• Added a pause menu and a quit game button!
• Mini-boss and boss characters have been drawn and added to the project.
• The Captain got a face! Handsome, isn't he?
• Combat now ends immediately when one of the opponents' health drops to zero.
• Full hint was hidden, now it's available when pressing alt and can be enabled in settings.
• The "surrender" button is available on the map and in combat. No need to finish the run if Lady Luck turns away from you.
• The shop window has been updated, and the merchant's assortment has been expanded. Watch out for discounts!
• Added a button to view your build in map, shop, and end of run windows.
• Tutorial has been added! Have ye met our feathered mate yet?
• Dice roll results are now visually grouped in the combat window: it's clearer what effects will affect an enemy and what will remain with you.
• Settings window update.
• Updated dice rolling sound.
• The map window camera no longer jumps back to the bottom of the map. It's more comfortable, isn't it?

Many new text events and additional changes have been added:
• Events now check if you have enough gold before offering you options to spend it;
• Damage is dealt in events (no more sneaking through unnoticed);
• Unique event development branches and story-chains have been added;
• Percentages of outcomes and even color-coded results are displayed in events now. No intrigue

Additionally, numerous minor fixes, tweaks, visual updates, and overall gameplay improvements have been made. Phew! It's been a long three months, but now we're on the home stretch to the public demo version! And may the sea be calm (and fewer bugs)!

Dominions 6 - Rise of the Pantokrator - johan
The big thing in this update is mod support for the multiplayer lobby. If you join a modded game the mods used will be enabled automatically, but it is important to have subscribed to all the mods first. There are also some bug fixes, minor new features and new mod commands in this update.


General
  • Lobby games sorted new games first
  • Some inconsistencies in the repel damage calculation were fixed
  • Fix for divine emperor not being able to do certain commands
  • Nightfall could be cast without twilight, fixed
  • Katabasis effect now disappears after being revived

The Wreck - ThePixelHunt
As part of a series celebrating The Wreck's first anniversary, here's our last interview. This time, it's with Florent, who co-wrote the game with his sister Coralie and also took care of the game design. Florent actually was in a car accident in 2017 (luckily without any bad consequences apart for a totalled car), which gave him the initial inspiration for The Wreck!

Who are you and what was your role on The Wreck?
My name is Florent, and I co-wrote The Wreck. Plus I tried to pretend I'm a game designer.



What was your favorite moment/thing to do during the production of the game, and what was the one you liked the least?
My favorite moment was when I cut my hair! When we started working on The Wreck, in 2017, I made he weird wish not to cut it until the game was released. Little did I know, that would take us over 5 years! It was fun to begin with but at some point the mere sight of an hair brush would give me the creeps. I really admire people with long hair now!
My least favorite moment was when after working on the game's prototype for over a year and spending quite a lot of money, we realized it just wasn't working. Prototyping narrative games is hard - so much relies on the mood and atmosphere that you can't use crappy placeholder graphics to get a picture of the game you envision - you have to push further. But when you push in the wrong direction, well... It's hard to land back on your feet! Luckily, we had great partners who believed in our ability to turn the boat around, and after a few (hard) months of extra work we came up with a second prototype - which was way more convincing this time! But I feel guilty and I regret having caused that stress for everyone.


What was a thing you learned about your craft making the game that you'd like to share?
Hire a producer! Seriously, when you're a tiny team working with very limited means, it can be tempting to imagine that the game designer or the creative director will also be the team's producer. But the truth is, it's already hard enough to take care of either creative tasks or organizational ones alone - doing both will burn you out. Producers are saints, they work in the shadows for the well being of everyone. Just hire one.

News Tower - Twin Sails Eir
Hello hello to all newsbearers above and beyond!

Today we are implementing this hotfix to address the problem where in certain situations the loading and saving of a game will take a very long time. If your game was affected by this, saving it again with this patch should solve the issue.

This issue was reported to us respectively by both KnightModern and Cueball on Discord:
"After turn 30+, it's way longer to save the playthrough, load the save, and advance to the next week, sometimes it's crashed when trying to save and the new save became corrupted."

"I dunno why I'm still playing, but I'm on Day 67, and saving the game is getting laggy."

Stability:
- Framerate Limit option has been introduced to decrease cases of using too much resources which should improve the overall stability and performance (default and recommended value is 75 FPS);
- Improvements to overall stability that should reduce cases of random freezes and crashes.

General issues and improvements:
- Fixed the issue where creating quick saves between scenes could lead to black screens;
- Fixed the issue where random encounter at Port Praski could have been started during any time of day instead of night which resulted in black screen;
- Fixed the issue where Difficulty level could randomly change to Challenge despite being at other, lower levels;

- Fixed the issue where some of Wiktor’s attack animations played incorrectly;

- Fixed a conditional blocker during To Dust, You Shall Return main quest if manipulation on certain NPC was performed;
- Fixed the issue where interaction with Rasputin was not available during At the Crossroads main quest;
- Fixed an exploit where it was possible to increase Proud points during They're Alive side quest;
