Mortal Kombat 11

Expect to see fatalities in the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie.

Screenwriter Greg Russo took to Twitter to say the film will be R-Rated, so, in keeping with the video game series, expect to see plenty of gore.

Mortal Kombat 11

Usually, video game glitches are the last thing you want - but this Mortal Kombat 11 glitch isn't so bad - in fact it's pretty cool.

Since the game launched earlier this year, players have reported running into what's been dubbed the Finish Him / Her glitch. Normally, after you defeat your opponent, you see the words FINISH HIM / HER appear on-screen, leaving you to do that most famous of video game finishers: the Mortal Kombat fatality.

But sometimes the words FINISH HIM / HER do not disappear, as they're supposed to. Instead, they remain on-screen, even while your character plays out their victory cutscene. Here's how it looks:

Mortal Kombat 11

It looks like Nightwolf is the next DLC character to come out for Mortal Kombat 11.

NetherRealm chief Ed Boon took to Twitter to tease Nightwolf's release with an image showing his his trademark tomahawk.

Nightwolf is an officially confirmed character due out as part of fighting game's first Kombat Pack. The first DLC character to be released was Shang Tsung. The other confirmed characters are Sindel and guest character Spawn.

Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 has been out for a few months now, with thousands of players around Earthrealm putting their fists in each other's faces for the sake of extraordinary violence.

Since then, lots of time has been spent delving deep into the game's cast of characters in order to discover just how good they really are. Between that, and the recently released Shang Tsung, the meta has changed significantly since launch.

Mortal Kombat 11

This week, Mortal Kombat 11 received its first DLC character, the brilliant villain Shang Tsung. I've spent some time getting to grips with his unique moveset, working out cool combos and stealing souls all over the shop.

Shang Tsung is a lot of fun to play, has a wonderful design that incorporates the likeness and voice of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who played Shang Tsung in the '90s Mortal Kombat movie, and has flashy Brutalities and shocking Fatalities. He's everything I could have wanted from Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat 11.

And yet, I've run up against a big problem, and it has to do with Mortal Kombat 11's custom variations system.

With the first character of the Kombat Pass now available, it seems there’s some confusion around Mortal Kombat 11’s Krypt and its wealth of unlockables. We aim to set the record straight with some new details on the DLC characters, as well as give you some tips for unlocking stuff in the Krypt, even after numerous patches. Yet there are ways if you know how, that you can unlock the multiple different locations, heart chests, and even the head spikes.

General Gameplay Adjustments

• Move list corrections
• Improvements to AI logic
• Fixed several rare online desync causes
• Removed a rare crash that could occur after a Quitality
• Fixed an issue that cause users to lose controller functionality when trying to record an AI command after pausing the game with very specific timing
• Trying to Practice Reset while waiting in a KOTH lobby will no longer sometimes reset twice in a row
• Added an Easy Krushing Blows option to Practice Mode’s Practice Options which will bypass most Krushing Blow’s conditional requirements

• All Skeleton Key Gates will now reward some currency when opened

Towers of Time

• Adjusted the difficulty of some starting towers on some tower platforms

Baraka

• High and Mid parries now work correctly against War Banner Charge
• Sinister Slice (Jump+Back Punch) no longer has an inconsistent hit region when auto-facing the opponent

Cassie Cage

• When an opponent loses a round to BLB-118 Bitchin' Bubble, they will no longer continue to play out some animations
• BLB-118 will no longer sometimes lose functionality when the opponent loses a round to Control BLB-118’s Wub Wub Wub or Fun Phaser attacks

Cetrion

• When an opponent loses a round to Ring Of Fire, they will no longer continue to play out some animations
• High and Mid parries now work correctly against Unlimited Potential (Towards+Back Punch, Front Kick, Back Kick)

D'Vorah

• Adjusted Getup Roll Backwards animation to no longer recover slower than intended

Erron Black

• Added an ammo counter showing how many Locked And Loaded Rifle shots are currently available

Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 gets a ranked mode tomorrow, 18th June.

The Kombat League, as it's called, adds a competitive, seasonal ranked mode to NetherRealm's fantastic fighting game.

In it, you compete in ranked matches during a four-week season to progress through nine tiers, climbing from the ranks of Apprentice to Elder God.
