Spire of Sorcery - Sergei Klimov
It's been a while since we recorded any dev streams, so we decided to do a quick update on the two features that we recently shipped: stories (moral choices) and spells (we started with 4 of these).

Please note that the latest version (v167) is now available on the game's main branch on Steam to those of you who own the Limited Early Access version, so you can access it simply by hitting "PLAY NOW" in the Steam Library.

In the next update, we plan to ship the card-based multi-skill mechanics for all events, which will be based around several decks. This would be the last missing piece of the core loop puzzle, and then we'll focus on adding more content and balancing things out.

As a heads-up, we've resumed regular releasing of betas once we reached a stable version of the turn-based version of the game, and from this week onwards we'll also post links to release notes of the current beta here on this hub (even though it will still be a few months before we transition the game into general Early Access – there's work left to do!).

This week's beta – v167 – is by now released, and brings into the game the first story content: 7 moral choices, seeded in the world of Rund; as well as the first character traits.

Release notes are HERE.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ping our team in #limited_early_access channel on the game's Discord server.

We're still not at the stage when we're ready to deploy the game to the general branch – user interface needs work, a lot of translations are missing, etc. – but we're getting there. We now release beta updates every 10-14 days. Have a great weekend, and thanks for the patience!

Hi everyone,

We've got a bit of news today:

1. We've skipped the dev stream this week, and will be skipping it also in the coming week, as we're looking to use that extra time for dev work. We are now at the stage where most of the dev work left requires a lot of focus: writing descriptions for all the tooltips, and building user interface screens for all the rooms and modes in the game. It's literally hundreds of small things to tick off, and we prefer to stay focused throughout the whole week.

2. Starting tonight, and going forward, we're bringing the BETA branch of the game back to Steam. If you own Spire of Sorcery Limited Early Access, you will be able to access the beta and will be able to check the current build. This is not a proper re-launch yet – as we still have a ton of things to finish and describe – but we felt like the best way to show you the progress is to just give you access to what we've got right now.

3. The release notes are published in this section of the forum: RELEASE NOTES. We also post a link in the #release_notes channel on the game's Discord. Once we deploy the build, we add the current password there. Please treat this build as a beta and if you would prefer something more polished and meaty – please wait until we properly re-launch the turn-based version here on Steam (in a few weeks).

The best way to discuss the game is still via Discord and on the dedicated forums. We're happy to see all sorts of feedback, but please don't spend your time on reporting missing assets as we're probably well aware of these instances and already have them on the road map.

To those of you who supported our re-launch efforts and the transition to the turn-based version in the last 6 months: THANK YOU! It hasn't been easy, but we're almost there. We just need one more push.

To those who are waiting for the proper re-launch of Spire of Sorcery as a direct-control, turn-based game: please hang on there. It's coming, and when we feel confident that you will not be disappointed, we'll bring the game over to the main branch, and will post a big update here.

Stay safe!
