As both a local multiplayer fan and an awful jackass who should never be invited to parties, I’m very much into the idea of Party Saboteurs [official site]. With similar ideas to Spy Party and Hidden in Plain Sight, it’s a game about scamps and scallywags pretending to be NPCs and blend in with the crowd to can complete naughty missions without being spotted and killed. In Party Saboteurs, every player controls both a spy and a sniper at the same time, see, working their wickedness and trying to snipe their opponents. And after a stretch on Steam Early Access, it’s now properly released. … [visit site to read more]

What’s up, Saboteurs?

Hello everyone, first of all, we’d like to apologize for being so absent from the community and not releasing regular updates. This is going to change in the next weeks.

At the time we released Party Saboteurs in early-access here, we had the opportunity to receive some investment in our 5-man company, but to get the money we would have to start a new project.

Being a really small team it was kind of hard to work in our next huge project while working in PS at the same time, we managed to pull a lot of work during some time, but it kept getting harder and harder to keep working on both projects at the same time. Then we got to the point of not working at all with our favorite spies.

Recently we released the trailer for our next project and now we have a lot of time in our hands to finish what we planned for Party Saboteurs, and by that we mean:

  • Lots of new gadgets;
  • New interface;
  • New parties;
  • New spies;
  • Game Highlights;
  • Coolest of all: a Twitch Mode.

This new system will work this way: the player will be able to stream his game through Twitch and the viewers will be able to interact in-game with the player, viewers will be able to kill the player by controlling a Twitch Sniper.

We're running some tests right now. When we get to the point of setting a date to this next update we hope to count with your help to check the results.

Thank you all!
Best regards,
Glitch Team.

Update notes: ːsteamhappyː
  1. Mac OSX Support;
  2. The "Online" option was removed due to several complaints that it was "deceitful", but we're still figuring out the online mode (don't lose hope!);
    Some icons were added to the "Party Selection", now each party has its own icon, we received some complaints that the screen looked a little bit off the way it was;

  3. "Tips" were added to the loading screen (we thought that players might find them useful );

  4. The former "Challenge" mode now is called "Spy Academy", since we had only implemented some of the early stage "challenges" they weren't really much of a challenge to anyone. We also changed the way the "Lessons" are shown;

  5. A Cat bug was fixed, it was able to "catch" a scope's laser even though the player was already with his license revoked, reducing the time he had to wait for it to be given back;

  6. We corrected several typos on the "How to Play" screen and made some statements easier to understand;

  7. Objectives' arrows are now shown on the color of the player who's aiming at it, making it easier to players see if they have an objective at a certain location when multiple players are aiming at the same spot;

  8. The "Report Bug" option was also taken off the Main Menu;

  9. The Objectives counter now fade away instead of just disappearing when the player released the "Interaction" button while playing;

Wishlist: ːsteamboredː
  • Online Mode;
  • More Spy Academy Levels;
  • New Local Multiplayer modes;
  • New Parties (Stages);
  • New Spies;
  • No more bugs!

After a brief spell spent lurking in the long cast shadows of Steam’s Greenlight initiative, mutliplayer stealth-a-thon Party Saboteurs [official site] has now successfully snuck onto Steam Early Access. Its spy and sniper heritage make it immediately comparable to the likes of Spy Party and Hidden in Plain Sight, however the debut venture from Brazilian outfit The Glitch Factory mixes things up quite a bit by charging players with controlling both the shooter and stalker at the same time.
