Hey there again Fellow Brawler champions!

We just wanted to let you know that we released another new update to the game today which introduces full Italian Localization support and a number of changes/improvements that some of you have been asking for.

The main component of this new update is full Italian Localization support. We couldn't have done this without the amazing help and tireless efforts of Pietro Figura whom was kind enough to translate the game! So thank you very much Pietro!

Here's the full list of other changes that this update introduces to the game:
  • Gongs now actually react to hits and strikes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjIjr4g1xBI
  • Italian Language Support Now Available. All credit for the localization goes to Pietro Figura.
  • When playing on Normal or Easy difficulty modes weapons are now saved between checkpoints. In addition to this, health is now also saved but if it's to low it only restores 1/3 of the total health.
  • Voice language can now be changed independently from in-game text language in the game's Voice options.
  • In the "you died" menu screen, the "Quit button" now appears with lower delay to prevent occasional clicks.
We hope that these changes help to make the game a more enjoyable experience for everyone. Of course we would love to help bring the game to more players, so we will continue to explore more options to localize the game into more languages beyond those that are already available.

In addition to this update, we're still hard at work on a much larger update that adds the number 1 most player-requested new feature to the game. We're nearing the finish line on this, so hopefully we will have more news to share about this very soon. Please keep an eye out on this space for more news about future updates.

Thanks a million for your continued support everyone!

Hey there again fellow Brawler Connoisseurs,

We just wanted to let you know that we just released a Mini-Update to the game which adds full widescreen support. So now players who use monitors with wide aspect ratios, for example 16:10 and 21:9 ones, will be able to enjoy playing the game without black bars on the sides of the screen. Certain elements of the game, like cinematics and menus, might still have black bars on certain aspect ratios, but all gameplay should now fill the entirety of the screen.

Hopefully this helps to make the game more fun to play on all types of monitors, and we can't wait to share more information about the big update that we're currently working on. So please keep an eye on this space for future announcements and updates.

Thanks a million for your continued support!

Hey there again Fellow Brawler Fans!

We just released a new update which introduces full Spanish localization to the game thanks to the amazing effort of Ricardo José Giménez Garcia! We greatly appreciate all the awesome work that he’s done translating the game, and we really hope that all of you guys will enjoy it as much as we do!

In addition to this, the update also introduces a Brand New Easy Mode that many of you have been requesting. This new mode helps to make the game’s difficulty more manageable by introducing numerous changes to its balancing, including adding more health for Vasily, decreasing the Sergeant enemy’s block ratio, and enabling hit reactions using simple attacks on certain of the really challenging late game enemies, amongst other changes. This mode can be activated-and-deactivated at any point in the game, so it can be very useful in overcoming particularly challenging levels that might have acted as a roadblock to your progression in the past. To enable easy mode, just enter the game menu and select it in the difficulty tab.

Here’s a brief overview of all the changes that this update introduces:
  • Brand New Easy mode
  • Full Spanish Localization Support thanks to the amazing effort of community member Ricardo José Giménez Garcia!
  • More soldier shouts in Russian
This is definitely not the last update that we have planned for the game though, as we’re currently working on polishing a big new feature that almost everyone has been asking for since day one. We’re really excited to hear what you guys will think of it, and we’re hoping to be able to share more information about it soon. So please keep an eye out on this space for future updates and news.

Lastly, we’re always considering new ways of adding more language support to the game and really appreciate all the amazing help that members of the Steam community have been kind enough to provide us with. So, if anyone would like to try their hand at localizing the game into other languages, we would be thrilled to work with you and add it to the game.

Thanks a million again for all of your continued support and we hope that you have fun crushing some newly more squishable skulls!

Hey there again fellow vengeful monks,

We’re really excited to announce that we’ve just released a culturally important update for the game. Being a studio based in Moscow, we’ve also wanted to capture the Russian flair with Redeemer. Therefore we’re thrilled to let you guys know that this latest update adds Full Russian VO to the game! When we first dreamt up Vasily as a character when we’re only 8 years old, we always imagined what he would sound like in our native Russian tongue. So we’re really excited to be able to give him a Russian voice and share it with all of you. We really hope that you guys enjoy the extra level of flair that this adds to the game as much as we do!

That’s not all though, as this update also introduces some additional requested improvements to the game. Here is the full overview of everything included:
  • Full Russian V.O.: Thanks to the lovely talented folks at GameSVoiCE we’re excited to add full Russian V.O. support to the game.
  • 1 Additional Checkpoint has been added to Level 9 (after the gate power on)
  • Some enemies have been improved to make them feel more responsive
  • Music has now been added to the final credits scene when you complete the game
  • The Bodhi and Reptile achievements have been fixed following player feedback
  • Numerous balance tweaks to make the game more enjoyable.
We really hope that you guys like this update and that everyone enjoys Vasily’s new voice. Rest assured that we still have some exciting plans for the game, and are currently working on two other big fan requested features/updates. So please watch this space for future updates and announcements.

Thanks a lot for your continued support!

Hey there again you lovely people!

The next few days are going to be really special for us, as we’ve teamed-up with the amazing folks from One Gamer Fund and have put our entire library of Good Shepherd Entertainment published titles on sale for the lowest prices each respective title has ever been available for here on Steam to benefit the One Gamer Fund during its inaugural charity weekend.

The One Gamer Fund is a new philanthropic initiative comprised of seven gaming nonprofits: AbleGamers, Child’s Play, Games for Change, Global Game Jam, the IGDA Foundation, Stack-Up and Take This. Between 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 21 to 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 25, half of all proceeds generated by purchases of Good Shepherd games after Steam’s share of revenue is factored will be donated directly to the IGDA Foundation on behalf of the One Gamer Fund and subsequently dispersed among all partnering nonprofits.

This is not all though! We’ve also just launched a special new Good Shepherd Entertainment Bundle to coincide with this sale. This bundle will allow those whom already own some of our games to easily complete their set at a special additional 25% discount! This means that you can add even more gaming goodness to life whilst helping these seven amazing charities and causes.

A number of Twitch personalities will also be hosting special streams to aid the One Gamer Fund throughout the weekend. Individuals can learn more about ways to participate by visiting www.OneGamerFund.org and following @OneGamerFund on Twitter.

We can’t tell you guys how much this sales means to us and how proud we are to be a small part of helping these amazing causes. None of this would be possible without all of your help though, so on behalf of everyone involved in this benefit sale, we just wanted to say thank you very much for your continued support!

Here’s to the power of gaming!

Greetings,

The Good Shepherd Team

Hello there! Welcome to Wednesday morning on Rock, Paper, Shotgun, and with the time just coming up to murder o’clock we’re looking at Redeemer [official site]. Released last night, it’s a top-down shoot-o-brawler where you can blast fools’in the face or even stealth-kill them, but that seems a waste when you can also rip off their arm and use it to beat other baddies to death. It’s that sort of video game. Observe: (more…)
