Void Invaders - Nosahasa
It’s finally here! The Void Invaders Ultra Update (version 1.7.0) is now live. Here’s a list of all the new features and changes:

We’ve finally managed to port Void Invaders to Linux! Right now, the official supported distros are Debian and its most common variants, including Ubuntu, Xubuntu and Lubuntu. Other distributions may work, but you’ll have to install the required libraries manually, and we currently can’t offer support. If you use Debian (or one of its friends), you can use the “Play install dependencies” launch option to install necessary libraries, after which the game can be played.

Linux-specific bugs can be reported here.

Many thanks to our friend Flippylosaurus who helped with troubleshooting and who created the install scripts.

About Music Mode

We’d like to apologise again for Music Mode not being released with this update. Real life got in the way and we didn’t find time to turn it into something worth playing. That’s why we decided to postpone it indefinitely.

That’s all folks!

We’re pretty sure that this will be the last major update for Void Invaders (though we’ll stick around and try to fix any bugs you may find). We’ve had a great time working on Void Invaders, but everything comes to an end. After having worked on it for nearly two years, we’re ready to start working on something new.

Having a game on Steam truly has been an amazing experience, so thank you all for supporting us. We also genuinely hope you guys will enjoy the new update.

Hi guys,

The Void Invaders Ultra Update is almost there! It will feature a new game mode, new levels and enemies, a new skin, additional settings and options, performance and general improvements, bug fixes and more!

We’re sorry we’ve kept you guys waiting so long, and we have some bad news as well. Personal problems, combined with a lack of motivation, have forced us to indefinitely postpone Music Mode. Apologies to those who were looking forward to it!

Right now, we’re tweaking the last couple things, while a friend is working on getting the Linux build working. We hope to have the update done as soon as possible (yes, we’ve said this before, but it’s for real now!)

Hi everyone!

Happy summer sale! Void Invaders will be 83% off for the entire duration of the sale. Spread the word and tell your friends and enemies!

Shameless advertising aside, we wanted to let you know that we are still working on Void Invaders! A big update is in the works, which we’ll release somewhere in the next 1-2 months. The update will be completely free for everyone who owns the game.

Hope you’re having fun playing Void Invaders! As we have mentioned before, we are working on another huge content update. Here are a couple things we will be adding:

Additionally, we’re looking into bringing the game to Linux, but we might delay that until another update. We want to make sure the game is great before attempting to port it!

Since this update is going to be really big, it’s going to take us a while to get everything ready. We’re not sure when we’ll be releasing it yet, but we’ll definitely keep you updated.

Hey guys!

We’ve got a couple things for you today.

First of all, Void Invaders turned 1 this week. Woohoo! We’d like to thank the awesome guys at Black Shell Media for bringing Void Invaders to Steam and of course everyone who has played it for the great feedback.

Secondly, we’ve published a small-ish update for you to enjoy. It features new highscore lists, meaning you can now see the top scores as well as your friends’ scores for both Endless and Wave mode. We’ve also added performance improvements and a couple bug fixes. The start-up problem when running the Steam Client beta should be fixed now.
The current version is 1.4.0.

We’re still working on adding more content to the game. If you have any suggestions, please let us know in the discussions!

Last of all, we’ve updated the promotional art to be more consistent across Steam. It’s a bit different, but we hope you like it!

It’s been a while since the last update, but today we’re releasing another one! This update isn’t that big of a deal -- some fixes and tweaks that make Void Invaders a bit nicer.

Here’s what we’ve added and changed:

  • More settings (separate music and sound volumes)
  • Settings have been added to the pause screen
  • Enemy list (unlocks after you beat level 30)

  • HUD (powerup timers are more readable)
  • Splash screen (it’s shorter now!)
  • Settings (separate sections for different settings)
  • Main menu

  • Fixed a lot of bugs
  • Controller support is now more stable
  • More optimisation
  • Scores load from the Steam leaderboards
The current version is 1.3.5.

Hey everyone!

It took us a little longer than expected, but the new update is finally here! Due to some last-minute problems with the save system and Game Maker: Studio we decided to postpone the update, but it’s finished now! Thanks for your patience.

New features:
  • 10 new levels
  • 16 new enemies
  • 2 new bosses
  • 3 new achievements
  • 2 new statistics
  • 1 new powerup
  • 1 new music track for the new levels
  • Entirely new ranking system
  • A new game mode: Wave Mode
  • Another leaderboard (for Wave Mode)
  • Easily recognisable hit sound and hurt effect for player
  • New hit effect for invincible enemies

  • Tutorial is now shorter and skippable
  • Difficulties have been removed due to the new ranking system
  • Boss Mode has been removed and replaced by Wave Mode
  • Saves are local again; we’ve decided to remove Steam stats and cloud saves as they were causing trouble for many players
  • Achievements are now visible in Steam only

Fixes and improvements:
  • Overall in-game improvements
  • Enemy improvements
  • Minor improvements for Endless Mode
  • Menu improvements and glitch fixes
  • Optimisation and lag reduction
  • Particle system improvements
  • Interface improvements
  • Steam connection fixes and improvements

Hey everyone!

First of all: happy Halloween!

Secondly: we’re working on a new update -- which will be packed with new content and huge improvements!

Here’s a few things that are going to be added:
  • 10 brand new levels, including 2 challenging bosses
  • An improved ranking system
  • A new game mode, including leaderboards
  • A lot more enemies
  • New achievements
  • Free soundtrack DLC
  • Bug fixes, gameplay improvements and polishing

We’ve also decided to remove all difficulties, since an improved ranking system will be added.
Honestly, it didn’t add any value to the gameplay and just made everything more complicated and unstable. Due to this, the play time might be a bit shorter, but we’ve already partially made up for this with the new levels. We promise we’ll add new level packs in the future too!

We're expecting to release the update around November 14th.
