Happy to let everyone know that we've got a juicy update for Shadowrun Dragonfall - Director's Cut today.

In addition, for the 3 year anniversary of the Shadowrun Returns Kickstarter campaign, we're offering the Deluxe version of Shadowrun: Hong Kong on pre-order at a 33% discount along with offering Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun Dragonfall - Director's Cut at the lowest prices ever. This is a great time to get your friends to check out the world of Shadowrun!

Release 2.0.9 contains a variety of Shadowrun Dragonfall - Director's Cut campaign fixes and general system fixes and improvements. If you are encountering any issues in Dragonfall, please update to build 2.0.9 immediately. (To update, restart Steam and then allow Shadowrun Returns to fully verify and download the new build.)

After the update if you are experiencing a campaign-related issue, you may also need to restart your current scene (select "Restart Level" from the PDA) or rewind (select "Rewind" from the PDA save screen, then select a previous level) to before you encountered the issue in order to resolve the issue.

Beta Instructions
We have begun public beta testing for the next update. This is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL, but if you'd like to try out the latest and greatest before it's available to the rest of the world, here's how you can participate:
  • Go to Steam Library
  • Right click on Shadowrun Returns
  • Select Properties
  • Select Betas
  • Then a drop down says: "Select the beta you would like to opt into"
  • Choose: Public Beta
You should see some 'updating' traffic as Steam fetches new files for Shadowrun Returns.
If you ever want to opt out of the Public Beta and return to the normal public build that everyone else has, you can repeat the process above and choose NONE from the drop down list.

We're excited to announce that we are making a brand new, full-length stand alone Shadowrun cyberpunk cRPG set in the Magically Awakened Hong Kong of 2056.

The project is budgeted, fully staffed, several months into development and on schedule for a mid-2015 release. We are very excited to tell this new story! Right now, it’s going to be 12+ hours long and at the quality level of Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut.

But - this is Harebrained Schemes and, as always, we have more ideas than we have budget to make them. That's why we've launched a new Kickstarter campaign and are asking you to help Co-Fund the new game.

Over the last few months we have been hard at work to bring you update 2.0.7. With this patch comes a hoard of bug fixes and even some more content. Several missions and conversations have been updated to allow the Player a greater range of freedom in choices, and the consequences that may or may not come with those decisions. Keep an eye out for these opportunities as you play, and be sure to try to find some of the new hidden "modes" to play the game in!

Community Announcements - Harebrained Schemes
Hey guys! The Director's Cut has been out for a week and we're already off to a strong start. But we think there's a lot more RPG fans out there that would enjoy the game - we want to reach them, and now there's a great new way you can help. Earlier this week, Valve unveiled their major "Steam Discovery Update" for the Steam store. Not only does the store look a lot blue-r now, but they've made some major changes to how games can be discovered and surfaced on the marketplace based on YOUR reviews and recommendations. Just in the last 48 hours we've seen Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut appear on a number of great Steam Curator lists - RPG Codex and Kotaku Recommends among others - which is awesome!

If you love Dragonfall and want to help spread the word, there's two things you can do right now (I know I sound like a public radio broadcaster, sorry):

1. Leave a User Review for Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut.
(The review box is right near the top of our Steam Store page.) Valve has made user reviews a lot more important in the recent update, including a nice summary at the top of our Store Page - we're currently "Very Positive"!

2. Start Curating!
Here's a good overview of the new Steam Curators feature. The more Curators that add Dragonfall to their lists, the more we'll show up to players who follow you or who like similar games. Start a list of your own, or leave comments for some of your favorite Curators and suggest that they add Dragonfall to their lists!
