The Fall - OverTheMoonGames

After a heck of a long wait, The Fall Part 2: Unbound is out! My team and I are thrilled to finally be releasing it, and I can't wait to see what you guys think.

The Fall Part 2's Steam page can be found here

The fall Part 2 retails for 16.99, and is over three times the length of the first game, with 4 playable, fully voiced characters and several environments.

The Fall Part 2 was released just two days ago, and already it's gotten some good press. We've gotten a few review scores in the 90s and 80s, which is absolutely fantastic. So, next time you're feeling fall-y, give the game a try, and if you feel it's warranted, don't forget to leave us a positive Steam review. Every one helps, really.

I will of course be hanging around the forums a lot more often these days, so don't be afraid to come by and say hello.

The Fall Part 2 is basically wrapped and we're in the final stages of console submission. Additionally, we're part of a promotion that'll be announced in a week or so. This means it's a good time to update the build with a few tweaks I've been meaning to add.

First of all, we've revamped the default control scheme. the "Toggle Aim" setting is now on by default, and the controls are closer to what we've got in part 2 (although not exactly, as it's a different game). The decision to do this took a while because when I initially created The Fall, I wanted the controls to be more active, so that players had a tactile sense of exploring their environments. However mostly, players just had a hard time with the controls. As a result, they have now been replaced with a much more simple scheme. This of course can be disabled from the settings menu.

Second, we've got two small graphical upgrades. Arid's character model will now rotate to the correct facing, as opposed to popping to it. Additionally, we've fixed a long standing bug where the text inside of data points can flicker when you move.

Thirdly, we've fixed a bug where achievements weren't triggering as complete until the game was closed.

Lastly, this patch includes an engine upgrade to Unity 5.6.4p1

Part 2 has been a long time coming, and we think it shows... hopefully you will too. Check out our trailer! Add the game to your wish lists! If you want!

In part 2 of The Fall, we’re going to open Arid’s domain up a lot more and expose her to the widely varied world in which she lives. Everything has been given a substantial upgrade, from the visuals, to the gameplay, to the narrative structure. If you liked part 1, we think you'll love part 2.
The Fall

The best science fiction doesn t just follow green people in space with pew-pew laser guns, it burrows under the skin and challenges the way we see humanity in relation to the sciences: technology, biology, and the like. And sometimes it still has pew-pew laser guns. The first episode of The Fall was one of these stories, using adventure game puzzles as a mind-bending framework for exploring themes of AI and consciousness. As a side-scrolling exploration adventure in a long abandoned AI testing facility, it was creepy, smart, and easy to pick up. The Fall Part 2: Unbound, builds on the ideas of the first, but this time, your AI isn t tied to one robot body. By inhabiting multiple robots with different personalities and purposes, the puzzles and combat have more variety (and morbid human corpse humor) than before.During my short demo (which you can watch below) I inhabited a soldier AI and fought off a horde of faceless drones in a simple, satisfying rhythm combat game, and I convinced a butler bot that his employers were, in fact, very, very dead. As the middle part of a planned trilogy, Unbound is shaping up nicely, and as far as I can tell, it s bound to impress.

We're still hard at work updating The Fall with new additions. In case you didn't hear, we recently added Trading cards, a sound track, controller support upgrades, and bug fixes.

This update, we've been working with our friends over at wordsofmagic.com , who did a fantastic job completely re-doing our French translation. It is now much better at providing an authentic The-Fall-y experience for native French speakers. Additionally, several language related bug fixes are in as well, mostly to do with text formatting, but a few general gameplay bugs have also been fixed.

I wanted to take a minute to thank the community (probably you, if you're reading this) for being so awesome at sharing your opinions about the game and reporting any issues when you find them. Believe it or not, this will be the first update that will be launched publicly - as to appear in the "updated games" section (which is why I re-mentioned trading cards at the top of this update). It's caused me to look back on how far we've come. The Fall has improved leaps and bounds since it was released last May 30th, and we've got you to thank!

That's all for now, but we hope to have another interesting update coming before too long (for everyone, not just French speakers :) ). I wish I could show you guys the stuff we've got cooking for Part 2... I'm so excited about it and I know you'll love it. But..... all in good time!

We still get the occasional question about this, so for those of you who haven't heard the good news, The Fall parts 2 and 3 have been confirmed. It was always our goal to find a way to make them, even if our sales were almost non-existent, but thankfully we've had enough interest that making them will be easy. Expect the next instalment (if everything goes according to plan) sometime around fall of 2015. We'll make sure it's awesome!

We're not sure yet if they'll be released separately, or together in one, large game. What do you think?
