Map Pack 4, the grand finale release of the Resurgence Map Pack Series is now available on Steam.

The final installment of the Resurgence series includes two more environments sure to challenge your tactical planning. In Kill Zone, will you construct your defenses near the spiral road in, the spiral road out, or the open platform in the middle? Perhaps all three! But you’ll need to be on your toes to deter the invaders. Overflow has numerous connected platforms that will provide countless options to turn back the enemies. Will you be able to keep the cores safe? There's only one way to find out!

Today's Map Pack 3 release includes two more challenging environments - Urban Planning and Tactical Diversion. It’s the third of four great map packs in the Resurgence series. Urban Planning is a dense environment with restrictive build spaces, forcing difficult decisions against continuously attacking hordes. In Tactical Diversion, survey the small, snow covered platform and consider numerous possibilities. But be prepared for the aerial assault!

Defense Grid developer Hidden Path has announced an "expansion" titled 'Resurgence' for its PC and Xbox 360 tower defense, to be released in June as four 99¢ map packs.

Each 99¢ (80 Microsoft Points) pack contains two "highly polished and balanced" new levels with a campaign mode, four challenge modes and new achievements. The first pack will be released on June 2, with the other three following weekly on Wednesdays.

The first two maps, 'Height of Confusion' and 'Service Interruption.'

If you haven't already given Defense Grid a whirl, you can nab the 237MB PC demo from FileShack or download the Xbox 360 demo from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Updates to Defense Grid: The Awakening have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted.

  • Support for DLC is enabled. Check out the new FREE DLC pack, Borderlands! Four challenging levels new to Steam players.
  • Upgraded leaderboard performance - Defense Grid now uses the official Steam leaderboards. Unfortunately, this change resets all existing leaderboard entries, but the good news is that all of the leaderboards are wide open and waiting for your high scores to post. Defend the cores and show others how good you are.
  • Corrected a bug in which Cannon towers would sometimes fire twice as often when using fast forward.
  • Fixed an issue in which AI audio would still play even if the Voice Over volume was turned all the way down.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Voice Over volume slider from responding to mouse input.
  • The Achievements button on the Main Menu will now take the user directly to their stats and achievements page for Defense Grid.
