Soft straps of tanned hide cover this thin, lacquered handle. It is topped by a strange, yet familiar symbol: Jhode's diadem and Jomfru's signs resembling sharpened knives. The iron is of high quality and clearly of Gottlung origin, but the white stripes of salt carved into the scratched steel recall the distant northern shores where this tool was forged.
