AgeOfMe — End User Licence Agreement
Version: 24 October 2026

1. Who this agreement is with

This End User Licence Agreement ("Agreement") is between you and RooSystems, Schaller 62, 6553 See, Austria ("RooSystems", "we", "us"), concerning your use of the Steam version of AgeOfMe, its updates, and the related online features we provide (together, the "Game"). You can contact us at info@ageofme.com.

This Agreement applies when it is presented to you and validly accepted as part of obtaining or using the Game. If you do not agree, do not accept it or begin using the Game. Any rights relating to a purchase you have already made remain subject to applicable law and the relevant purchase terms.

You must meet Steam's account requirements and have the legal capacity or parental or guardian authorisation required by the law applicable to you. The store's content rating does not replace those requirements.

2. Steam and your consumer rights

Your Steam account, use of Steam, and transactions through Steam are also governed by Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement and the relevant Steam purchase terms. This Agreement concerns the rights and obligations between you and RooSystems. It does not amend your agreement with Valve or impose obligations on Valve.

Steam Subscriber Agreement: https://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including applicable consumer guarantees, rights relating to defective digital content or services, withdrawal rights, refunds, and access to competent courts. If a provision conflicts with a mandatory legal rule, that rule prevails.

3. Your licence

Subject to this Agreement and the rights granted through Steam, RooSystems grants you a non-exclusive licence to install and use a lawfully obtained copy of the Game for your personal entertainment on compatible devices. You may make backup copies to the extent permitted by law. Steam's supported device access and sharing features remain subject to Steam's rules.

The Game is licensed, not sold. RooSystems and its licensors retain the intellectual-property rights in the Game, including its original code, artwork, music, writing, and other assets. Your ownership of your device and any rights you independently hold in your own material are unaffected.

Do not sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Game or its assets without permission, except where applicable law or an applicable third-party licence permits it. Do not remove copyright or other proprietary notices. Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Game except to the extent permitted by law, including applicable interoperability rights, or by an applicable third-party licence.

Separate licences for third-party and open-source components continue to apply to those components. This Agreement does not restrict the rights those licences grant.

4. Screenshots, videos, and streaming

You may capture and share screenshots and gameplay videos, stream your gameplay, and monetise that material through ordinary advertising, subscriptions, or viewer donations. This permission covers the rights in Game material that RooSystems can grant. It does not grant rights to third-party material outside our control.

Do not present your material as an official RooSystems release or endorsement, or use this permission to distribute a copy of the Game or standalone Game assets. Applicable law and the rules of the service where you publish still apply.

5. Free play and optional purchases

AgeOfMe is free to play and may offer optional paid features or consumable time skips. The applicable store listing and checkout describe the product, price, requirements, and benefits you are buying. This Agreement does not create a subscription or authorise a payment by itself.

A permanent unlock is a non-consumable entitlement to the described feature, rather than a consumable credit or a promise that an online service will operate forever. Our obligations to supply the purchased feature and any legal remedies remain in effect. A consumable time skip is used when its purchased simulation-time benefit is applied. It does not promise a particular resource yield or game outcome beyond the product description; outcomes depend on your game state and the described simulation rules.

Paid features and consumables are rights to use Game functionality, not money, investments, or ownership of the Game. They are not redeemable for cash or tradable between players unless an expressly supported feature or applicable law provides otherwise. We do not promise that a purchase transfers to another store, device account, or distribution platform unless the relevant product description expressly says so.

6. Payments, refunds, and withdrawal

Steam handles payment authorisation for purchases made through Steam. Review the terms and disclosures shown at checkout. For Steam purchase or refund requests, use https://help.steampowered.com/. Contact info@ageofme.com for missing entitlements, delivery problems, or other Game support.

Steam's voluntary refund rules vary by product type, including DLC and in-game purchases. The applicable rules are available at https://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/. This Agreement does not promise that all in-game purchases qualify for a voluntary Steam refund, and it does not take away any refund or other remedy required by law.

Accepting this Agreement does not, by itself, waive a statutory withdrawal right. Any legally required express consent to immediate supply of digital content and acknowledgement of the consequences for withdrawal must be obtained in the actual purchase process. Rights concerning defective or undelivered content remain unaffected.

7. Accounts, online features, and saves

The Game can store progress and settings locally. Online features, including account linking, cloud saving, and purchase verification, may require an internet connection and a supported signed-in account. Some features may require a separately described paid entitlement. The applicable listing and in-game information identify the requirements of each feature.

Protect your account credentials and only link accounts you are entitled to use. Do not share passwords or authentication codes with support. Notify us if you suspect unauthorised access to your AgeOfMe account. Your responsibility for any unauthorised activity is determined by applicable law; use of an account alone does not make you automatically liable for every action performed through it.

Local saves can be affected by device failure, deletion of application or browser data, and conflicting or incompatible changes. Use available backup or export features before removing local data or making manual changes. Cloud saving can be interrupted by connection problems or synchronisation conflicts. These practical limitations do not exclude our obligations or your remedies under applicable law.

8. Protecting services and other people

Do not access another person's account or data without authorisation, compromise service security, distribute malware, disrupt services, fraudulently obtain paid entitlements, or use Game or support services for unlawful threats or harassment. Do not submit requests or automation designed to overload or bypass the security of our online services.

These rules do not prohibit ordinary gameplay automation built into the Game, legitimate bug reports, accessibility tools, or activities protected by law. Modifying your own offline save is not by itself a breach of this Agreement. It does not authorise falsifying purchases or sending fabricated entitlement, achievement, or account records to online services. We do not promise support for modified saves or third-party tools, but mandatory rights remain unaffected.

9. Updates and changes to the Game

We may provide updates to correct faults, address security issues, maintain compatibility, improve accessibility, and develop or balance gameplay. We will provide updates required by the applicable contract and law. Installing a necessary update may be required to use affected online features; where relevant, we will explain its availability and the consequences of not installing it.

Changes to an ongoing digital service beyond required updates must have a valid reason, such as a security or compatibility requirement, a legal obligation, or a documented gameplay or technical improvement. Such changes will not impose an additional charge for the existing service. We will explain relevant changes clearly and comply with applicable notice requirements.

Where Austrian consumer law applies and a change affects access to or use of an ongoing digital service more than insignificantly, we will provide reasonable advance notice on a durable medium, describing the change, its timing, and the applicable termination right or option to retain an unchanged conforming service. The consumer may terminate without charge within 30 days after the change or, if later, receipt of that information, unless an unchanged conforming service remains available without additional cost. More protective mandatory rules applicable to you remain unaffected.

Planned features are not a commitment unless they form part of the applicable product description or contract. This section does not give us a right to remove purchased benefits arbitrarily or avoid legal remedies.

10. Availability and service restrictions

Maintenance, technical faults, and network interruptions may temporarily affect online features. We will take reasonable steps to address interruptions for which we are responsible. Any discontinuation of an ongoing or purchased service must comply with the applicable contract and law, including required notice and remedies.

Where there is a concrete security threat, fraud, or material breach of section 8, we may restrict only the affected online access to the extent reasonably necessary and legally permitted. Where practicable and appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to remedy a breach. Immediate temporary action may be necessary to protect accounts, data, or services.

You can challenge a restriction by emailing info@ageofme.com. We will review the relevant circumstances. A restriction does not automatically forfeit unrelated purchases or remove statutory remedies.

11. Ending this Agreement

You may stop using the Game and uninstall it at any time. Uninstalling does not automatically delete an online account, remove a Steam licence, or request a refund. You may request deletion of an AgeOfMe account or personal data by emailing info@ageofme.com. We will explain verification requirements and any relevant effect on linked features or entitlements before carrying out an account-deletion request where appropriate.

RooSystems may terminate this licence for a material breach that you do not remedy after reasonable notice and an opportunity to do so, or without that opportunity where the breach is incapable of remedy or immediate termination is justified under applicable law. Any action affecting your Steam account or Steam licence itself remains subject to Valve's authority and applicable terms.

On valid termination of this licence, stop using and remove copies you are no longer entitled to use, except copies you may retain under applicable law or a separate licence. Termination does not extinguish accrued claims, mandatory consumer remedies, or refund rights. The provisions concerning retained intellectual-property rights and resolution of existing disputes continue to apply as necessary.

12. Privacy

Our separate AgeOfMe Privacy Policy explains the processing of account identifiers, cloud saves, purchase-verification records, support communications, and other personal data associated with the relevant features. Consult the policy made available with the Game or through the official AgeOfMe website. You can request a copy or exercise privacy rights by emailing info@ageofme.com.

The Privacy Policy provides information about processing; accepting this Agreement is not blanket consent to optional analytics, marketing, or other processing requiring separate consent. Steam and other independently used services have their own privacy notices. A privacy deletion request and a purchase refund request are separate processes.

13. Warranties and liability

The Game must meet the requirements imposed by the applicable contract and law. Where digital content or services are defective or not supplied as agreed, applicable law may entitle you to correction, a price reduction, termination, a refund, or other remedies. Contact us or the relevant seller through the channels above to report a problem.

Liability is determined by applicable law. This Agreement does not exclude statutory warranties or impose a monetary cap on liability. In particular, it does not exclude or limit liability for personal injury, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. Applicable law and disputes

Austrian law governs this Agreement, subject to any mandatory protection available under the law of your habitual residence. This choice does not deprive consumers of protections that cannot be waived by agreement.

You may contact info@ageofme.com to seek a resolution, but doing so is not a condition for exercising a legal remedy. Disputes may be brought before the courts competent under applicable law. This Agreement does not require arbitration, waive collective remedies, or impose an exclusive court that takes away a consumer's right to bring proceedings in a competent court.

15. Changes to this Agreement and remaining provisions

We may prepare a revised Agreement for future contracts. A change to an existing contract requires a valid legal basis and any notice or agreement required by law. Posting a new version, your silence, or continued play alone does not automatically establish agreement to a material amendment. Section 9 concerns changes to the Game and does not create a separate unrestricted power to amend this Agreement.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Applicable law determines the consequences; an invalid provision is not automatically replaced by the broadest restriction that might be enforceable.
