Grindwick Terms of Use

These Terms govern the Grindwick website, online services, and Electron desktop game. You must explicitly accept them before creating a new Grindwick account, including when creating your first character through Steam.
Operator and eligibility
Grindwick is currently a free, non-commercial hobby project operated by Patryk Orłowski in Germany. It currently has no purchases, subscriptions, paid virtual currency, or other paid features.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use account-based features.
Your account
You can register an email account on the website or create a Grindwick profile through the Steam desktop game. Email registration requires a valid email address, a password, a character name, and an avatar selection. Steam registration requires a Steam account with a licence for Grindwick and a character name; you do not submit your Steam password or an email address to Grindwick for this login.
A SteamID is linked to one Grindwick profile. Later Steam logins load that profile and character. Existing email accounts remain separate and are not automatically linked or merged with a Steam profile.
Before creating an account or your first Steam character, read these Terms and indicate your acceptance using the registration checkbox. We record the version you accepted and the time of acceptance with your account. Accepting these Terms is not consent to marketing or unrelated personal-data processing; our Privacy policy explains how account and game data are used.
Protect your login details and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Accounts are personal and may not be sold, purchased, transferred, shared, or commercially exploited. Email-account holders can use the website's password-recovery and account-deletion features. For Steam-account recovery, use Steam Support; for help with or deletion of your Grindwick profile, contact patryk.orlowski1992@gmail.com. Never send your Steam or game password to support.
Licence
You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use Grindwick for private entertainment under these Terms. You do not acquire ownership of the game, account, characters, virtual items, or other content.
Unless permitted by mandatory law or expressly authorized, you may not copy, redistribute, sell, modify, reverse engineer, circumvent protection, or operate an unauthorized version of the service.
Fair play
Do not use bots, gameplay-automation macros, cheats, exploits, unauthorized tools, modified clients, or other methods that create an unfair advantage or interfere with the service. Report vulnerabilities privately and do not exploit them.
Do not harass or threaten others, use hateful or sexually explicit content, impersonate others, reveal private information, spam, defraud players, manipulate trades, evade sanctions, or use unlawful or seriously disruptive names or messages.
Accounts, virtual items, and game currency may not be exchanged for money or real-world value unless expressly authorized by the operator.
Player content
You remain responsible for names, messages, reports, and other content you submit. You grant the operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, transmit, moderate, and reproduce it only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve Grindwick.
The operator may remove prohibited content or rename characters or groups. Feedback may be used to improve Grindwick without compensation, while you retain any rights you have in the original feedback.
Moderation
Suspected violations are reviewed by the operator. Measures may include warnings, content removal, renaming, muting, removal of improperly obtained items or progress, temporary suspension, or permanent termination. Serious violations may lead to immediate action.
You may request review of a decision at patryk.orlowski1992@gmail.com. Attempts to evade restrictions may lead to additional accounts being restricted.
Development and availability
Grindwick is under active development. Features, balance, requirements, availability, rules, characters, items, rankings, and progress may change or be reset for testing, security, balance, or error correction. Significant planned resets will be announced where reasonably possible.
The service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability or permanent continuation. The operator may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of it, subject to mandatory law.
Third-party services
Steam distributes Grindwick and provides Steam-account authentication and game-licence verification. Your Steam account and use of the Steam platform are separately subject to the Steam Subscriber Agreement at https://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/ and applicable Steam licence terms. These Grindwick Terms govern your use of our game and online services and do not replace your agreement with Valve. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Steam and other linked third-party services have their own privacy policies and terms. The operator is not responsible for services outside Grindwick's control, subject to mandatory law.
Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or mandatory product liability. For ordinary negligence, liability is limited to breach of an essential contractual duty and foreseeable damage typical of this service. Otherwise liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Law and changes
German law applies without depriving consumers of mandatory protections granted by the law of their habitual residence. Statutory jurisdiction rules remain applicable.
These Terms may be updated for legal, security, technical, or service-related reasons. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate notice where reasonably possible.
