End User License Agreement
NAND² · version 1.0 · effective 2026-10-22
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is between you and anywaymachines (“we”, “us”), the developer and publisher of NAND². It applies to the game NAND², the NAND² Demo, their updates, and all content shipped with them (together, the “Game”). By installing or playing the Game you agree to this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or play it. If you got the Game through Steam, the Steam Subscriber Agreement also applies; where they conflict on your relationship with Valve, the Steam Subscriber Agreement prevails.
1. License
The Game is licensed, not sold. Subject to this EULA, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and play the Game for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control, through the platform you obtained it from. You may stream, record and share videos and screenshots of the Game, including monetized ones on YouTube, Twitch and similar platforms, as long as you do not imply our endorsement. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by us and our licensors.
2. What you may not do
- sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise distribute or transfer the Game or your access to it, except as the platform you got it from expressly allows;
- circumvent, disable or tamper with the license check, copy protection or any other technical protection measure;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Game, or extract its assets, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction, or as the licenses of third-party components (section 6) allow for those components;
- create or distribute cheats, exploits or tools that interfere with other players, leaderboards or the Workshop, or submit falsified leaderboard results;
- use the Game or its content to train artificial-intelligence models, or for any unlawful purpose;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other notices.
The Game's built-in editors, the Workshop and theme files are the intended ways to create content for the Game, and using them is allowed.
3. Your content and the Steam Workshop
Ownership. Circuits, code, sections, level packs, themes and other content you create (“Your Content”) remain yours, apart from any of our content they include (such as the Game's built-in parts, levels, artwork and texts), which remains ours.
License to us. When you publish Your Content to the Steam Workshop or share it in a co-op session, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, display, adapt (for example, crop or translate) and distribute it in connection with the Game and to promote the Game (for example, featuring a Workshop item in a trailer, store page or social-media post with credit to you where practical). The Workshop itself is operated by Valve, and publishing there is also subject to the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Valve's Workshop terms, which you accept in Steam.
Rules. You are responsible for Your Content. Do not publish content that infringes someone else's rights, is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, contains personal data of others, or contains malicious files or links. Other players use Workshop content at their own risk; we do not review it in advance.
Removal. You can delete your Workshop items at any time in Steam. We may hide, remove or ask Valve to remove any content that breaks these rules or the law, or after a valid rights complaint sent to http://mailto:legal@anywaymachines.com. Removal from the Workshop ends our license for future uses, but not for promotional material already published.
4. Co-op
In a co-op session all players see each other's Steam names, cursors and every change to the shared circuit and code. Be respectful: no harassment, hate, cheating, griefing, or sharing of illegal content. The host can kick and ban players from their session. Co-op runs peer-to-peer between players' computers through Steam (or directly over a local network); we do not run game servers and do not monitor sessions. We may report abuse to Valve.
5. Online features and updates
Some features (Workshop, co-op, achievements, leaderboards, cloud saves, Rich Presence) depend on Steam or Discord and may change or become unavailable if those services change. We may update the Game to fix bugs, add or change content, or keep it compatible; updates are covered by this EULA. How the Game processes personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Third-party components and open source
The Game includes third-party components under their own licenses, including a firmware image of Linux and busybox (GNU GPL version 2), OpenSBI (BSD 2-Clause), musl (MIT), and fonts and icons under their respective licenses. Their license texts ship with the Game. For those components, their own licenses apply instead of this EULA, and nothing in this EULA restricts the rights those licenses give you. The complete corresponding source code for the GPL components is available at https://anywaymachines.com/games/nand2/source/.
7. AI-generated content
As disclosed on the Steam store page, the Game contains AI-generated materials, including artwork, code and translations, created during development and reviewed by us. The Game does not use generative AI while you play, and it does not generate content live.
8. Ownership
The Game, including its code, levels, texts, artwork, audio, the names “NAND²” and “anywaymachines” and their logos, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The circuits, processors and software you build in the Game are simulations for entertainment and learning and are not intended for use in real-world systems. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in this EULA limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including statutory guarantees and remedies for faulty digital content.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to the Game or this EULA, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the Game. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or intentional misconduct.
11. Termination
This EULA lasts until terminated. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the Game. It ends automatically if you materially breach it; you must then stop using and uninstall the Game. Sections 3 (license to us), 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 survive termination. Refunds are handled by the platform you bought the Game from, under its refund policy.
12. Changes to this EULA
We may update this EULA, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. The current version, with its version number and effective date, is always published at https://anywaymachines.com/games/nand2/eula/. Material changes will be announced in the patch notes and, where required, presented to you for acceptance; if you do not accept them, you may stop using the Game. Changes do not apply retroactively.
13. Governing law and general terms
This EULA is governed by the laws of the place where anywaymachines is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring claims in its courts. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign this EULA; we may assign it to a successor to the Game. This EULA, together with the Privacy Policy and the platform's terms, is the entire agreement between you and us about the Game.
