SHADOWS OF WAR II - END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT

Version 1.0, 25/09/2026

This agreement is between you and the developer of Shadows of War II ("the Game"), referred to as "we" or "us". By installing or playing the Game you accept it. It adds to the Steam Subscriber Agreement, which also applies. If you do not accept it, do not play the Game; Steam's refund policy tells you how to get your money back.

1. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment, on the devices and in the ways the Steam Subscriber Agreement allows (including Steam Family Sharing). The Game is licensed to you, not sold. We and our licensors keep all other rights in it.

2. What you may not do
  • Copy, sell, rent, lend or distribute the Game or any part of it, except as Steam allows.
  • Take the Game's art, music, sound effects, fonts, maps or code out of the Game to use or share elsewhere. Several of these, the fonts in particular, are licensed to us for use in the Game only.
  • Decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer the Game, except where the law gives you that right regardless of this agreement.
  • Cheat. This means changing the Game, its files, its memory or its network traffic, or using tools or deliberate exploits, to gain an advantage in online matches or on the leaderboard.
  • Use the Game, its chat or its maps to harass, threaten or deceive other players, or to break any law that applies to you.

3. Videos, streams and screenshots
You may stream the Game and publish videos and screenshots of it, including on monetised channels.

4. Your maps
Maps you build in the map editor are your creations. The Game's content inside them (its terrain pieces, art and so on) remains ours.
  • You may share your map files with other players for free.
  • When you play a custom map online, the Game sends it to your opponent's game so that they can play it with you.
  • Do not share maps whose name or content is unlawful, or which uses someone else's work without their permission.
  • If you send us a map, or post one publicly, we may show it in our news, videos or community channels and credit you. We will ask you before we include any map of yours in the Game itself.

5. Online play, chat and the leaderboard
  • Online matches connect your game directly with your opponent's. To set up the connection, the Game uses Steam and the Construct multiplayer signalling service run by Scirra Ltd. As in most direct connections, your opponent's computer can see your IP address.
  • Chat messages go directly between the two players. We do not see or store them. Be decent to each other and try not to fucking swear too much.
  • The online leaderboard (https://sow2leaderboard.tri-g.dk) is run by us. What it stores, and why, is described in its "Privacy" section. We may remove runs or names, or block connections from posting, if we believe a run was cheated, or a name is offensive or impersonates someone.
  • Steam achievements and Steam leaderboards are provided by Valve Corporation under the Steam Subscriber Agreement.
  • Online features depend on services that we, Valve and Scirra run. They may be interrupted, changed or, eventually, ended. You can still play the rest of the Game without the leaderboard or online functions.

6. Updates
We may update the Game to fix problems, rebalance it, or add or change content. This agreement covers every update. An update will not take away the core of what you bought.

7. Other software and fonts
The Game includes software and fonts made by third parties. They are listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, which comes with the Game, and their own licence terms apply to those parts.

8. Warranty and liability
Nothing in this agreement affects the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.

Beyond those rights, the Game is provided "as is". We work hard on it, but we cannot promise that it is free of errors, that it will run on every system, or that online features will always be available.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost saves, settings or maps, and our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the Game. None of this limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent or gross negligence, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit.

9. If you break this agreement
If you seriously or repeatedly break this agreement, for example by cheating, we may block you from the online features we run, such as the leaderboard. You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the Game. Sections 2, 8, 10 and 11 continue to apply after it ends.

10. Changes to this agreement
We may update this agreement, for example when we add features. We will announce any important change in the Game's Steam news. The current version is always available at https://store.steampowered.com/eula/3983250_eula_0 and in the Game's folder. A change does not take away rights you already have for what you have paid for.

11. Law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the law of the Kingdom of Denmark. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
