The ground is a luxury in this world - you need some wings to move about. And it ain't a sluggish, leaden aircraft under your control - a lot of maneuverability to utilize in tight dogfights...

This stylish game involves switching between driving and flying mode and flying around complex contraptions. There are boost "gates" too, although their role here is to keep you in the air longer.

Opposing factions and pirates. Motherships and lightweight fighters. Beautiful scenery and yet no ground under your feet.

Aircraft arena shooter. Plenty of loadouts and game modes. Pretty slow compared to Strike Vector though. Not recommended because it feels unfinished and not tuned for fun gameplay.

What if there were a 16-bit demake of Strike Vector? This is probably what it would look like. 2D sideview, a lot of flight control.

Dogfight shooter game where you are a pilot of a spacecraft/mech, capable of switching between two modes - speedy and maneuverable.
