Sandbox RPG set in medieval Germany with pausable real time combat. Character creation system is nearly too elaborate. Conquer that and you're golden.

Rotoscoped real time point and click murder mystery with an attention to detail. There's nothing else quite like it. Unintentionally silly sometimes.

RoA can be tough to get into but once you do, you'll be drunkenly vomiting all over yourself and freezing to death in the wilderness like a pro.

Chips Challenge in 3D before Chucks Challenge 3D existed. Bring a controller. You also control a bird companion but it doesn't really add any strategy.

If sub models work for you: FF14 has good writing, big updates every 3 months, a loot treadmill and enough to keep everyone busy. Too bad about people.

Dial combo restaurant game. Do you have a macro keyboard? Would you like to make use of it? Congratulations, this is the game for that.

Squad based ARPG. Permadeath for units is serious. Grindy and rough around the edges, only neurotic masochists will enjoy this. Nice world though.

Gravity puzzle platformer. Was a little too difficult at release, was later tweaked. Very easy on the eyes. Bring a controller and patience.

FMV point and click with multiple endings. Best suited for existing Tex Murphy players. Everyone else will probably find it middling. Demo on steam.

Match 3 side scrolling dungeon runner, with upgrades and items. Shortness of rounds lends itself better to mobile, but it's still fine on PC.
