I recommend Tower Defense games and point out their differences and special characteristics. Since I played most TD games available on Steam my recommendations might be helpful if you like this genre.

There is a free version as well, but I support the creators because the GemCraft games are always interesting, well made and you get a ton of levels.

It combines many different TD gameplay mechanics. No actual unique ideas apart from the setting, but for less than 5 $ you get a solid and fun TD game.

I loved the 1st one and this is a perfect sequel. Same fun, and the improvements make sense. More games should have a live view of your friends scores!

A good choice if you want a classic tower defense game with no special stuff around it. Not big, no unique ideas, but still addicting. You can avoid 1.

Better and bigger than the first part. You get a lot: different modes with maze building or paths, many towers. But it is a mobile port with some flaws.

Not recommended to everybody, but if you have already played the top ranked TD games it is worth a look for its surprisingly dark story. Difficult.

Good old TD gameplay, no mace building. Unique twist with cards you collect to upgrade towers. Recommended if you can stand a bit of gambling.

No shooting towers, but knights next to them fight the enemies. Based on a Flash game. I only played the free browser version, but this was fun.

Parody of Sci-Fi trash movies. Not one of the most populat TD games, but I liked it a lot. Interesting new gameplay ideas. A bit chaotic sometimes.

The perfect choice if you want a casual TD game. The places you can build on are limited. Cute graphics. Easy levels most of the time, but fun.
