Normally I say be careful with early access. But the gameplay is so good. Hopefully development speeds up soon.

Terraria is a sandbox survival-ish game that can offer hours of fun and is better with multiplayer. There is a reason so many copypcats have popped up

An NES era platformer that is not awful? Shovel Knight is a classic style game that looks and sounds wondeful and does not kill you with unfair enemies

Rogue Legacy is one of the few rogue-like or rogue-lite games that I've enjoyed. It can get frustrating and a controller helps.

Shadowrun is an example of a Kickstarter success story. If you like CRPGs and distopian settings, this is definitely worth your time.

This is the absolute king of over the top humor. Solo or with a group it is tons of fun and is completely insane at times. In a good way.

Mass Effect is one of the best RPG series available. The first game has some annoying mechanics but is more of a traditional RPG than the later titles

Magicka is one of those games that is okay solo but is amazing with friends. Lots of DLC so pick and choose carefully. But play with friends if you can.
