GRADE: Very Good. An awesome indie RPG for absolutely FREE, with webcomic-styled character designs, fun combat system, and surreal environments. Points for not trying to shamelessly ape Earthbound.

GRADE: Good. Look past the stock RPG Maker assets and you'll find an upgrade-rich mercantile simulator that's far deeper than you'd expect. Can you defeat capitalism with... more capitalism??

GRADE: Very Good. Did you like Void Stranger but found it TOO cryptic? Well, Paquerette has its own riddles and secrets, but it's straightforward in its campaign until you dig deeper. Lots of bunnies!

GRADE: Great! Quake for depressed eastern europeans. Fight statues come to life, giant heads, explore apartment complexes. More brown and orange than a skybox in an Xbox 360 game.

GRADE: Outstanding! My co-GOTY of 2023. A Dreamcasty delight about painting every tile while avoiding enemies. Great level design, perfect controls, and of course, a Y2K aesthetic for the millenials.

GRADE: Good. A cinematic platformer along the lines of Flashback, with obvious love put into every rotoscoped frame of animation. Not as stiff as the old days either!

GRADE: Very Good. Surreal point-and-click adventure by the developer of Primordia. Trace elements of Dark Seed and Sanitarium can be found here, but without the obvious flaws of those titles.

GRADE: Great! Like a lost Gameboy Color JRPG, this one's got multi-multi-multiclassing and lots of dungeon crawling. A good one for Etrian Odyssey fans.

GRADE: Very Good. The best of the games set in the Eldritch FMVerse, Muses shines where Dekker/Shapeshifting Detective fail by having more story & secrets to uncover beyond the RNG-determined mystery.

GRADE: Good. Initially broken at launch, had its most egregious softlocks fixed. A clever boomer shooter with a biopunk aesthetic and insect guns. Sounds might be too loud and crunchy for some.
