I wonder what game this is trying to evoke... It's on the tip of my tongue

It's got horror, yeah, but I'm recommending it anyway for its incredible use of PSX style graphics in a totally new way

This game has a lot of throwback feeling environments, even if the game overall isn't trying for any throwback aesthetics that I can tell.

What would happen if Sega kept the 32X around until 2000 and developers kept pushing the limits. Criminally underdiscussed for its visual style.

An ecology-focused biology simulator with low poly graphics

Similar to Spark the Electric Jester 3, this game evokes such strong "2001-2003" art design and graphics, but it's a bit too far into the PS2 era for this list. Honorable mention for sure though

An underrated gem with a very 5th gen sensibility, although the graphics are a bit past what I can call low-poly throwback.

My cutoff is ~2010 for retro thowbacks... And this is 2010, but I'm not sure if it's a PSX throwback or just low-poly as an indie doujin game. Either way it looks wonderful.
