I would recommend this game, except Rogue Legacy 2 exists and it's strictly superior in absolutely every way. There is no reason anyone should buy the original at this point.

Heavy metal roguelike. Hard to call it a platformer when you are ostensibly flying, with insanely powerful mobility from the word go. Content is limited and repetitive, but it's a fun trance state.

Super simple roguelike platformer where you are perpetually descending upon your enemies. Slightly awkward at first, but when you get into a groove it feels like a rhythm game. Alas, not much content.

It's an eerily beautiful game, and the aesthetic perfectly fits the immersive storytelling and atmosphere. There are a few totally unwanted stealth/combat sections, but it's otherwise very good.

Giddily grotesque and pleasantly puerile. It's not a hard game, but you'll want to keep running it after you've won just to see more of the ways you can defile Isaac. Really good for short sessions.

Fast and furious hack-and-slash roguelike with a very meta sense of humor. Combat is simple, and probably too easy on default settings, but it's extremely satisfying. One of the best of its kind.

Basic choose-your-own adventure with bland writing and very limited choices. The game seems to randomly end without telling you why, and it's tedious to restart. Also weirdly buggy for a simple game.

This game will take you like 10 minutes to beat. It's super short and stupid easy, and it's basically a demo you pay for. But it's cute, and really successful at aping the vibe of Donkey Kong Country.

Wickedly charming and funny puzzle platformer. Mechanically solid with simple, satisfying puzzles. The narrative is what shines here though, with a sharp wit and style, and a really intriguing world.

Cinematic platformer lacking in polish. The game starts out kind of jank, but gets better as you go. Once you step outside it feels like a different game and earns a place alongside its inspirations.
