Improved gameplay and a large detailed new environment to explore in Hawaii but a weak main plot where the old characters have little development and the best moments are often side content with Kiryu

It's one of my least favorite Yakuza games. New engine didn't improve enough, terrible use of Haruka, and one of the more racist of the series. But there are still some great moments and side content

Slice-of-life adventure/VN with all the character portraits and some environment shots being done with the Game Boy Camera. Great atmosphere, music, interactions but bugs preventing some endings.

Tells a decent story with likable characters and a good battle system while avoiding the worst narrative and anime tropes of the recent Persona games, though it can start to drag towards the end.

Despite the odd characterization of the main character and a very inconsistent tone, the game provides frequently funny conversations and a great companion in the robot Joey.
