Solid Recommend: Good Gameplay Experience

The games listed here aren't the prime cream-of-the-crop, but are still great games to play. These are games I personally enjoy that have acknowledgable shortcomings to them.

The games listed here have left ME (emphasis) with more of a negatively-weighted experience than a positively-weighted one overall, usually because of the story & sometimes the gameplay.

Master Duel is a great Yugioh sim with top notch presentation, but would benefit from more updates and modes aside from ranked ladder and open lobbies. F2P is OK, but the game really wants your money.

The newest and best iteration of Dark Souls gameplay. The combat is fantastic and the open world is full of things to discover. Online is hit/miss, PC performance varies. Overall amazing RPG!

Solid deck-builder roguelite. You fight off invaders in a train car by placing clan & allied clan monsters on the field and using various buff/debuff cards as support. Wish it had more mod support.

Somnium Files feels very familiar story-wise for Zero Escape fans. The tone can be jarring w/ a mix of dark murder mystery and light-hearted friendship fun. A very fun visual novel to experience.

Finale of the Cold Steel arc (play the first three). A culmination of 3 games of buildup with a spectacular reunion of previous Trails party members too. Fulfilling story investment pays off nicely.

Takes place 1.5 years after Cold Steel II (play the first two before this). Rean returns as an instructor to a new Class VII & reunites with his old classmates to disrupt evil plans. Great next entry.

ToCS2 is a direct sequel to the first game and picks up where that game ends. There are some new gameplay and QOL changes, but the pace of the game and story really falls flat in the second half.

Pretty good JRPG; turn-based combat akin to Neptunia combat. The world and lore of the Trails series is deep and defined. Lot of running back and forth for some quests. Fun cast of characters.

A direct sequel to Ryza 1 (this game heavily references the end of Ryza 1). The gameplay, combat, and maps are more tuned/refined while the story takes a step back. The crafting is still addicting af.

Probably the most immersive open world game I've played and enjoyed. It is a great adventure to play around as a wild west cowboy gang member just doing nefarious and honorable deeds all around.
