They were correct with keeping multiple scenarios. They were incorrect in compounding various continuity errors. This was the biggest failure of the entire remake. RE2's cannon cannot exist logically.

Chrono Trigger is astonishing in how it took Square’s prodigious penchant for melodrama but avoided the conventions and archetypes that often haunt the sub-genre. It simply tells an incredible story.

The campaign is two hours and all I did was beat the crap out of people. And I think that’s exactly why this game is going to be popular. Expect Streets of Rage and absolutely nothing more.

It feels like an emulation rather than its own commodity. Even during the finest moments of design, story, and gameplay, it never shakes the feeling of being a mad lib. An occasionally adept imposter.

Do I think more could have been done with this remaster? Absolutely. Am I happy this exists despite my issues? Of course. My review stands as called originally: The game is a masterpiece.

Characters that never utter a word still feel fully realized. You know their names, their class, and that one time they came through like an utter hero – and when they had their brains blown out.

Final Fantasy VIII tells an impressive tale. The story of Squall, his friends, his love, and his rival, are familiar. But sometimes that’s okay. There’s a reason why these tropes still exist.

It’s going to kill you. And that dread-inducing thought adds verisimilitude to every moment. That’s why hiding is never boring. Even when nothing’s happening – something is happening.

XCOM 2 bogs itself down in everything it doesn't do well. It’s trial and error without the added benefit of a continue. The trial is an entire campaign. The error results in restarting that campaign.

Players are constantly between 1 of 11 (or so) different inputs from each moment to moment depending on the type of fight and how well that fight is going. This won't be fun for everyone.
