A nearly flawless execution of both linear platforming and non-linear level design. As icing on the cake, The Messenger also has tremendously entertaining characters and fun narrative surprises.

Its "open world" is rather small, but it makes up for it with diverse action combat and monster climbing mechanics. What earns its place here though is its surprising narrative, even clunky as it is.

Teddy 2 is by no means perfect - I think MOST will find its controls a bit frustrating - but something about its Narnia-esque escape to a world where music is also language resonates deeply with me.

Burnt into my memory as one of the strongest examples of using ludonarrative effectively. Few games take you on a more relatable adventure as you play as two sons trying to save their father.

Ludicrously clever variant of Sokoban where you have to consider syntax logic on top of the usual spatial reasoning of the genre. You will feel your own knowledge leveling up as you progress.
